I'm delighted to write a column in Women of China English Monthly. Here, 1'11 share interesting findings, key insightsand real stories from the work I've been doing with thousands of competent professional women in China -- and around Asia. Given that it's the start of the calendar year, I want to shave a powerful exercise -- on reflection, to set you up for success in the coming year, and beyond. To start, grab a journal, and answer the following questions: What do you think your colleagues would say about you? What have been your key successes during the past year? What are the best practices you used to achieve those successes'?  相似文献

1 THE question of whether or not the concept of marriage goes against human nature will never be resolved because there is nothing more contradictory in the world than so-called human nature. Everyone should ask a more specific question: What do I want most out of my life? If a person wants peaceful life, he or she should get married. If a person wants freedom, he or she should remain single. Can a person have both a peaceful life and freedom? There is such a thing called an open marriage. But marriage is on the threshold of freedom. In reality, perhaps it is easy or difficult to cross that threshold. But the threshold must be there. Without it, the marriage would be totally open, and the union could not be regarded as a marriage. It is essential that in marriage the idea that the concerned  相似文献

There can be comfort in having other people make decisions for us, even life altering ones. When we are unsure or afraid, it is not uncommon to turn to others-experts-to help us decide whatto do, wha! path to take. Perhaps we don't trust our own instincts or maybe we really don't know what to do in a specific situation. Rather than rely on our own self-knowledge, we seek outside advice. We want to defer the decision making to others, get an ironclad, black or white answer to questions that sometimes reside in a shade of gray. One time when I was at a dermatologist's office, she told me There are three things I want you to do: take an aspirin every day, use suntan lotion every time you go outside in the sun and wear a baseball hat if you are in the sun for a prolonged period of time.  相似文献

Dear Women of China,
I'm interested in your magazine, but there's no way for me to get copies of it where I live. I see that your website has an electronic version of the magazine, but it's only one issue, it's a few months old, it's difficult to read (because you have to wait for the pages to enlarge), and you have to click on the pages to flip them back to the table of contents or reload the whole page. It's extremely aggravating and not at all easy for readers to use.  相似文献

Qigong (an ancient Chinese exercise that focuses on breathing) is a way to balance body and mind. Qigong's long history makes it a Chinese cultural treasure, but it is also an important aspect of Chinese traditional medicine. It has a valuable role in preventing and curing illness, strengthening the body, prolonging life and even increasing intelligence. Qigong has made a great contribution to the Chinese nation health both in the past and today. Yijinjing is a Qigong exercise passed down from ancient times, which strengthens the physique and adds muscle tone. This exer cise couples hard movement with soft move ment, like 'yin'and 'yang'. Loose clothing and flat, cloth shoes should be worn before doing exercise. Try to regulate your breathing  相似文献

Jessica Zhang believes it is time to give Beijingers a nostalgic trip, to the 1920s, through Parlor, the first Great Gatsby-style bar in Beijing. "Our initial idea for Parlor was to make it Beijing's first high-end private club. Parlor was the result of numerous conversations with our customers, who lamented that they were missing something in Beijing's bar scene," says Zhang, manager of Parlor. "They (and we) did not feel there were any bars (in style) of the 'Great Gatsby,' with fine cocktails and the immersive and relaxed atmosphere.  相似文献
