We consider the problem of fitting a heteroscedastic median regression model from left-truncated and interval-censored data. It is demonstrated that the adapted Efron’s self-consistency equation of McKeague, Subramanian, and Sun (2001) can be extended to analyze left-truncated and interval-censored data. The asymptotic property of the proposed estimator is established. We evaluate the finite sample performance of the proposed estimators through simulation studies.  相似文献

We study the problem of fitting a heteroscedastic median regression model with doubly truncated data. A self-consistency equation is proposed to obtain an estimator. We set up a least absolute deviation estimating function. We establish the consistency and asymptotic normality for the case when covariates are discrete. The finite sample performance of the proposed estimators are investigated through simulation studies. The proposed method is illustrated using the AIDS Blood Transfusion Data.  相似文献

Median regression models provide a robust alternative to regression based on the mean. We propose a methodology for fitting a median regression model from data with both left and right censored observations, in which the left censoring variable is always observed. First we set up an adjusted least absolute deviation estimating function using the inverse censoring weighted approach, whose solution specifies the estimator. We derive the consistency and asymptotic normality of the proposed estimator and describe the inference procedure for the regression parameter. Finally, we check the finite sample performance of the proposed procedure through simulation.  相似文献

In longitudinal studies, the additive hazard model is often used to analyze covariate effects on the duration time, defined as the elapsed time between the first and the second event. In this article, we consider the situation when the first event suffers partly interval censoring and the second event suffers left truncation and right-censoring. We proposed a two-step estimation procedure for estimating the regression coefficients of the additive hazards model. A simulation study is conducted to investigate the performance of the proposed estimator. The proposed method is applied to the Centers for Disease Control acquired immune deficiency syndrome blood transfusion data.  相似文献

In this paper we develop nonparametric methods for regression analysis when the response variable is subject to censoring and/or truncation. The development is based on a data completion princple that enables us to apply, via an iterative scheme, nonparametric regression techniques to iteratively com¬pleted data from a given sample with censored and/or truncated observations. In particular, locally weighted regression smoothers and additive regression models are extended to left-truncated and right-censored data Nonparamet¬ric regression analysis is applied to the Stanford heart transplant data, which have been analyzed by previous authors using semiparametric regression meth¬ods. and provides new insights into the relationship between expected survival time after a heart transplant and explanatory variables.  相似文献

Medical advancements have made it possible for patients to be cured of certain types of diseases. In follow-up studies, the disease event time can be subject to left truncation and interval censoring. In this article, we propose a semiparametric nonmixture cure model for the regression analysis of left-truncated and interval-censored (LTIC) data. We develop semiparametric maximum likelihood estimation for the nonmixture cure model with LTIC data. A simulation study is conducted to investigate the performance of the proposed estimators.  相似文献

Doubly truncated data appear in a number of applications, including astronomy and survival analysis. For double-truncated data, the lifetime T is observable only when UTV, where U and V are the left-truncated and right-truncated time, respectively. In some situations, the lifetime T also suffers interval censoring. Using the EM algorithm of Turnbull [The empirical distribution function with arbitrarily grouped censored and truncated data, J. R. Stat. Soc. Ser. B 38 (1976), pp. 290–295] and iterative convex minorant algorithm [P. Groeneboom and J.A. Wellner, Information Bounds and Nonparametric Maximum Likelihood Estimation, Birkhäuser, Basel, 1992], we study the performance of the nonparametric maximum-likelihood estimates (NPMLEs) of the distribution function of T. Simulation results indicate that the NPMLE performs adequately for the finite sample.  相似文献

Peto and Peto (1972) have studied rank invariant tests to compare two survival curves for right censored data. We apply their tests, including the logrank test and the generalized Wilcoxon test, to left truncated and interval censored data. The significance levels of the tests are approximated by Monte Carlo permutation tests. Simulation studies are conducted to show their size and power under different distributional differences. In particular, the logrank test works well under the Cox proportional hazards alternatives, as for the usual right censored data. The methods are illustrated by the analysis of the Massachusetts Health Care Panel Study dataset.  相似文献

Double censoring arises when T represents an outcome variable that can only be accurately measured within a certain range, [L, U], where L and U are the left- and right-censoring variables, respectively. In this note, using Martingale arguments of Chen et al. [3 Chen, K., Jin, Z. and Ying, Z. 2002. Semiparametric analysis of transformation models with censored data. Biometrika, 89: 659668. [Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]], we propose an estimator (denoted by ?β) for estimating regression coefficients of transformation model when L is always observed. Under Cox proportional hazards model, the proposed estimator is equivalent to the partial likelihood estimator for left-truncated and right-censored data if the left-censoring variables L were regarded as left-truncated variables. In this case, the estimator ?β can be obtained by the standard software. A simulation study is conducted to investigate the performance of ?β. For the purpose of comparison, the simulation study also includes the estimator proposed by Cai and Cheng [2 Cai, T. and Cheng, S. 2004. Semiparametric regression analysis for doubly censored data. Biometrika, 91: 277290. [Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]] for the case when L and U are always observed.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the estimation problem of multiple conditional quantile functions with right censored survival data. To account for censoring in estimating a quantile function, weighted quantile regression (WQR) has been developed by using inverse-censoring-probability weights. However, the estimated quantile functions from the WQR often cross each other and consequently violate the basic properties of quantiles. To avoid quantile crossing, we propose non-crossing weighted multiple quantile regression (NWQR), which estimates multiple conditional quantile functions simultaneously. We further propose the adaptive sup-norm regularized NWQR (ANWQR) to perform simultaneous estimation and variable selection. The large sample properties of the NWQR and ANWQR estimators are established under certain regularity conditions. The proposed methods are evaluated through simulation studies and analysis of a real data set.  相似文献

The lognormal distribution is quite commonly used as a lifetime distribution. Data arising from life-testing and reliability studies are often left truncated and right censored. Here, the EM algorithm is used to estimate the parameters of the lognormal model based on left truncated and right censored data. The maximization step of the algorithm is carried out by two alternative methods, with one involving approximation using Taylor series expansion (leading to approximate maximum likelihood estimate) and the other based on the EM gradient algorithm (Lange, 1995). These two methods are compared based on Monte Carlo simulations. The Fisher scoring method for obtaining the maximum likelihood estimates shows a problem of convergence under this setup, except when the truncation percentage is small. The asymptotic variance-covariance matrix of the MLEs is derived by using the missing information principle (Louis, 1982), and then the asymptotic confidence intervals for scale and shape parameters are obtained and compared with corresponding bootstrap confidence intervals. Finally, some numerical examples are given to illustrate all the methods of inference developed here.  相似文献

This paper proposes a class of nonparametric estimators for the bivariate survival function estimation under both random truncation and random censoring. In practice, the pair of random variables under consideration may have certain parametric relationship. The proposed class of nonparametric estimators uses such parametric information via a data transformation approach and thus provides more accurate estimates than existing methods without using such information. The large sample properties of the new class of estimators and a general guidance of how to find a good data transformation are given. The proposed method is also justified via a simulation study and an application on an economic data set.  相似文献

It is well-known that the nonparametric maximum likelihood estimator (NPMLE) of a survival function may severely underestimate the survival probabilities at very early times for left truncated data. This problem might be overcome by instead computing a smoothed nonparametric estimator (SNE) via the EMS algorithm. The close connection between the SNE and the maximum penalized likelihood estimator is also established. Extensive Monte Carlo simulations demonstrate the superior performance of the SNE over that of the NPMLE, in terms of either bias or variance, even for moderately large Samples. The methodology is illustrated with an application to the Massachusetts Health Care Panel Study dataset to estimate the probability of being functionally independent for non-poor male and female groups rcspectively.  相似文献

In this article, we propose three M-estimators for multiple regression model when response variable is subject to double censoring. The consistency of the proposed M-estimators is established. A simulation study is conducted to investigate the performance of the proposed estimators. Furthermore, the simple bootstrap methods are used to construct interval estimators.  相似文献

This paper deals with the analysis of data from a HET‐CAMVT experiment. From a statistical perspective, such data yield many challenges. First of all, the data are typically time‐to‐event like data, which are at the same time interval censored and right truncated. In addition, one has to cope with overdispersion as well as clustering. Traditional analysis approaches ignore overdispersion and clustering and summarize the data into a continuous score that can be analysed using simple linear models. In this paper, a novel combined frailty model is developed that simultaneously captures all of the aforementioned statistical challenges posed by the data. Based on the empirical likelihood approach of Zhou [21 Zhou, M. 2005. Empirical likelihood ratio with arbitrarily censored/truncated data by EM algorithm. J. Comput. Graph. Statist., 14: 643656. Simulation results indicate that the empirical likelihood method can be more efficient than the bootstrap method.  相似文献

In this paper, a unified maximum marginal likelihood estimation procedure is proposed for the analysis of right censored data using general partially linear varying-coefficient transformation models (GPLVCTM), which are flexible enough to include many survival models as its special cases. Unknown functional coefficients in the models are approximated by cubic B-spline polynomial. We estimate B-spline coefficients and regression parameters by maximizing marginal likelihood function. One advantage of this procedure is that it is free of both baseline and censoring distribution. Through simulation studies and a real data application (VA data from the Veteran's Administration Lung Cancer Study Clinical Trial), we illustrate that the proposed estimation procedure is accurate, stable and practical.  相似文献

The generalized exponential distribution proposed by Gupta and Kundu [Gupta, R.D and Kundu, D., 1999, Generalized exponential distributions. Australian and New Zealand Journal of Statistics, 41(2), 173–188.] is an important lifetime distribution in survival analysis. In this paper, we consider the maximum likelihood estimation procedure of the parameters of the generalized exponential distribution when the data are left censored. We obtain the maximum likelihood estimators of the unknown para-meters and the Fisher information matrix. Simulation studies are carried out to observe the performance of the estimators in small sample.  相似文献
