对固定效应模型,本文基于拉格朗日乘数(LM)原理提出了一种新的可混合性检验。不同于已有的LM型可混合性检验,这里使用每个截面个体的LM统计量构建可混合性检验统计量。数理分析表明,本文所提的方法有着渐进正态性,对于扰动项的异方差和非正态均稳健,且与PY检验(Pesaran&Yamagata,2008)渐近等价。Monte Carlo模拟实验表明,相对于PY检验及另外两种LM型的可混合性检验,对于不同大小的 ,本文提出的方法有着良好的水平表现和更优越的检验势。  相似文献

In this paper, we develop a test of the normality assumption of the errors using the residuals from a nonparametric kernel regression. Contrary to the existing tests based on the residuals from a parametric regression, our test is thus robust to misspecification of the regression function. The test statistic proposed here is a Bera-Jarque type test of skewness and kurtosis. We show that the test statistic has the usual x2(2) limit distribution under the null hypothesis. In contrast to the results of Rilstone (1992), we provide a set of primitive assumptions that allow weakly dependent observations and data dependent bandwidth parameters. We also establish consistency property of the test. Monte Carlo experiments show that our test has reasonably good size and power performance in small samples and perfornu better than some of the alternative tests in various situations.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the problem of testing for the equality of two distributions. We employ a two-sample Jackknife Empirical Likelihood (JEL) approach to construct a test statistic whose limiting distribution is Chi-square distribution with degree of freedom 1, no matter what the data dimension (fixed) is. A variety of synthetic data experiments demonstrate that our JEL test statistic performs very well, with a very neat asymptotic distribution under the null hypothesis. Furthermore, we apply the test procedure to a real dataset to obtain competitive results.  相似文献

In this study, we use the wavelet analysis to construct a test statistic to test for the existence of a trend in the series. We also propose a new approach for testing the presence of trend based on the periodogram of the data. Since we are also interested in the presence of a long-memory process among the data, we study the properties of our test statistics under different degrees of dependency. We compare the results when using the band periodogram test and the wavelet test with results obtained by applying the ordinary least squares (OLS) method under the same conditions.  相似文献

We derive an empirical poverty index containing most of those proposed in the literature. Then, we study its asymptotic behavior by using empirical processes theory. From the results obtained, we derive a Wald-type test for comparing a vector of theoretical poverty indices to a vector of reference indices. We study the test statistic under the null hypothesis of equality, fixed alternatives, and a sequence of local alternatives. A simulation experiment conducted shows that our test performs well for exponential and Pareto data.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the testing for serial correlation in a linear model with validation data, then we apply the empirical likelihood method to construct the test statistic and derive the asymptotic distribution of the test statistic under null hypothesis. Pincus (1975) derived the null distribution of the likelihood-ratio test statistic for testing that the mean vector of a multivariate normal distribution is zero against the alternative that the mean vector lies in a circular cone. Under the null hypothesis, the likelihood-ratio test statistic has a chi-bar-squared distribution. We extend the results of Pincus by deriving the distribution of the likelihood-ratio test statistic under the alternative hypothesis. In a special case, the distribution is a “noncentral chi-bar-squared” distribution. To our knowledge, this is the first order-restricted testing problem for which the relationship between the null and alternative distributions of the test statistic is similar to the relationship in the linear-model setting. That is, the distribution of the likelihood-ratio test has a central form of a distribution under the null hypothesis and a noncentral form of the same distribution under the alternative.  相似文献

In this study, we considered a hypothesis test for the difference of two population means using ranked set sampling. We proposed a test statistic for this hypothesis test with more than one cycle under normality. We also investigate the performance of this test statistic, when the assumptions hold and are violated. For this reason, we investigate the type I error and power rates of tests under normality with equal and unequal variances, non-normality with equal and unequal variances. We also examine the performance of this test under imperfect ranking case. The simulation results show that derived test performs quite well.  相似文献

Abstract. We propose a non‐parametric change‐point test for long‐range dependent data, which is based on the Wilcoxon two‐sample test. We derive the asymptotic distribution of the test statistic under the null hypothesis that no change occurred. In a simulation study, we compare the power of our test with the power of a test which is based on differences of means. The results of the simulation study show that in the case of Gaussian data, our test has only slightly smaller power minus.3pt than the ‘difference‐of‐means’ test. For heavy‐tailed data, our test outperforms the ‘difference‐of‐means’ test.  相似文献

We propose a new statistic for testing linear hypotheses in the non parametric regression model in the case of a homoscedastic error structure and fixed design. In contrast to most models suggested in the literature, our procedure is applicable in the non parametric model case without regularity condition, and also under either the null or the alternative hypotheses. We show the asymptotic normality of the test statistic under the null hypothesis and the alternative one. A simulation study is conducted to investigate the finite sample properties of the test with application to regime switching.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a graphical representation of data and a test statistic based on it for testing the goodness of fit of a completely specified null distribution. The graph is constructed as a linked line chart given by vectors which reflect the pattern of order statistics. The test statistic is defined as an area defined by our chart and its asymptotic distribution is derived under the null hypothesis. Computer simulations performed to study the power properties of our chart indicate that the test is powerful for scale alternatives. Furthermore, it is shown that our test is closely related to the Watson test.  相似文献

We propose a robust version of Cox-type test statistics for the choice between two non-nested hypotheses. We first show that the influence of small amounts of contamination in the data on the test decision can be very large. Secondly, we build a robust test statistic by using the results on robust parametric tests that are available in the literature and show that the level of the robust test is stable. Finally, we show numerically not only the robustness of this new test statistic but also that its asymptotic distribution is a good approximation of its sample distribution, unlike for the classical test statistic. We apply our results to the choice between a Pareto and an exponential distribution as well as between two competing regressors in the simple linear regression model without intercept.  相似文献

The score test statistic from the observed information is easy to compute numerically. Its large sample distribution under the null hypothesis is well known and is equivalent to that of the score test based on the expected information, the likelihood‐ratio test and the Wald test. However, several authors have noted that under the alternative hypothesis this no longer holds and in particular the score statistic from the observed information can take negative values. We extend the anthology on the score test to a problem of interest in ecology when studying species occurrence. This is the comparison of two zero‐inflated binomial random variables from two independent samples under imperfect detection. An analysis of eigenvalues associated with the score test in this setting assists in understanding why using the observed information matrix in the score test can be problematic. We demonstrate through a combination of simulations and theoretical analysis that the power of the score test calculated under the observed information decreases as the populations being compared become more dissimilar. In particular, the score test based on the observed information is inconsistent. Finally, we propose a modified rule that rejects the null hypothesis when the score statistic is computed using the observed information is negative or is larger than the usual chi‐square cut‐off. In simulations in our setting this has power that is comparable to the Wald and likelihood ratio tests and consistency is largely restored. Our new test is easy to use and inference is possible. This paper proposes a new test for the error cross-sectional uncorrelatedness in a two-way error components panel data model based on large panel data sets. By virtue of an existing statistic under the raw data circumstance, an analogous test statistic using the within residuals of the model is constructed. We show that the resulting statistic needs bias correction to make valid inference, and then propose a method to implement feasible correction. Simulation shows that the test based on the feasible bias-corrected statistic performs well. Additionally, we employ a real data set to illustrate the use of the new test.  相似文献

As a useful extension of partially linear models and varying coefficient models, the partially linear varying coefficient model is useful in statistical modelling. This paper considers statistical inference for the semiparametric model when the covariates in the linear part are measured with additive error and some additional linear restrictions on the parametric component are available. We propose a restricted modified profile least-squares estimator for the parametric component, and prove the asymptotic normality of the proposed estimator. To test hypotheses on the parametric component, we propose a test statistic based on the difference between the corrected residual sums of squares under the null and alterative hypotheses, and show that its limiting distribution is a weighted sum of independent chi-square distributions. We also develop an adjusted test statistic, which has an asymptotically standard chi-squared distribution. Some simulation studies are conducted to illustrate our approaches.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a nonparametric test procedure for multivariate data with grouped components under the two sample problem setting. For the construction of the test statistic, we use linear rank statistics which were derived by applying the likelihood ratio principle for each component. For the null distribution of the test statistic, we apply the permutation principle for small or moderate sample sizes and derive the limiting distribution for the large sample case. Also we illustrate our test procedure with an example and compare with other procedures through simulation study. We provide a consistent specification test for generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedastic (GARCH (1,1)) models based on a test statistic of Cramér‐von Mises type. Because the limit distribution of the test statistic under the null hypothesis depends on unknown quantities in a complicated manner, we propose a model‐based (semiparametric) bootstrap method to approximate critical values of the test and to verify its asymptotic validity. ABSTRACT

A simple and efficient goodness-of-fit test for exponentiality is developed by exploiting the characterization of the exponential distribution using the probability integral transformation. We adopted the empirical likelihood methodology in constructing the test statistic. The proposed test statistic has a chi-square limiting distribution. For small to moderate sample sizes Monte-Carlo simulations revealed that our proposed tests are much more superior under increasing failure rate (IFR) and bathtub decreasing-increasing failure rate (BFR) alternatives. Real data examples were used to demonstrate the robustness and applicability of our proposed tests in practice.  相似文献

Conditional mean independence (CMI) is one of the most widely used assumptions in the treatment effect literature to achieve model identification. We propose a Kolmogorov–Smirnov-type statistic to test CMI under a specific symmetry condition. We also propose a bootstrap procedure to obtain the p-values and critical values that are required to carry out the test. Results from a simulation study suggest that our test can work very well even in small to moderately sized samples. As an empirical illustration, we apply our test to a dataset that has been used in the literature to estimate the return on college education in China, to check whether the assumption of CMI is supported by the dataset and show the plausibility of the extra symmetry condition that is necessary for this new test.  相似文献
