For the last few years, the video conferencing system market represented by multimedia technology has enjoyed strong growth in Japan. Behind the recent upturn in this market was the strategic alliance of NTT, Japan’s largest telecommunications carrier, and PictureTel of the US, followed by the birth of business communities centered around or outside NTT, thus intensively creating and boosting a new market referred to as interactive video communication. This case study reviews the challenges that faced NTT, one of the big businesses in Japan, followed by PictureTel and other players within and outside NTT, all of which were lined up to create various strategic business communities. The article gives careful consideration to the measures taken by these players who achieved success in such a way as to alter employee consciousness, vitalize organizational morale, entrench the new NTT “Phoenix” brand (video conferencing system) in the Japanese market, and create an emergent new video conferencing market.  相似文献

This paper describes how established companies can create strategic business communities in order to usher in innovation. The paper focuses on the case of NTT DoCoMo, Japan’s largest mobile telecommunications carrier, which has utilised strategic community management principles in its efforts to cultivate and expand the mobile Internet market in Japan. In doing so, new markets were created, in turn leading to further opportunities for NTT DoCoMo. The paper distinguishes between strategic communities and other organisational forms such as projects and communities of practice and discusses the advantages of each. It concludes with the assertion that strategic community management is an effective methodology aimed at strategic innovation by major enterprises.  相似文献

This paper identifies and analyses some basic trends and patterns in international joint venture activity between UK firms and partner firms located in the Triad (North America, Western Europe and Japan) over the 1990–96 period. Several dimensions of UK international joint venture activity are examined: trends over time, geographic distribution of foreign partners, industry characteristics, the purpose of the venture, the number of partners and the UK partners' equity shareholding. The study serves to update and extend previous analyses of UK international joint venture activity with partners from developed market economies.  相似文献

This case study, by Paul Beamish, was a prize-winner in the EFMD 1992 Annual Case Writing Competition, in the section entitled, ‘Entrepreneurship’. It concerns a daring new business venture in the Russian Caucasus Mountains.In mid-1991, Guy Crevasse and Andrei Kakov, the two major partners in Russki Adventures contemplated their next move. They had spent the last year and a half exploring the possibility of starting a helipcopter skiing operation in Russia.Their plan was to bring clients from Europe, North America, and Japan to the Caucasus Mountains to ski the vast areas of secluded mountain terrain made accessible by the use of helicopters and the recent business opportunities offered by ‘glasnost’.Three options for proceeding were being considered. The first was to proceed with the venture on their own, in the Caucasus Mountains area that had been made available to them by a Soviet government agency. The second was to accept the offer of partnership with Extreme Dreams, a French tour operator that had begun operations in the Caucasus region during the 1991 season. The final option was to wait, save their money and not proceed with the venture at this time.The data presented in the case includes information on: the company founders the helicopter skiing industry the Russian environment proposed market positioning of the business the potential alliance partners forecast financial analysis, under several scenarios.  相似文献

This paper identifies partner selection criteria in a sample of UK international joint ventures with Western European, US and Japanese partners. Rankings of selection criteria are derived for the sample using a typology that distinguishes between task-related and partner-related selection criteria. The most important task-related criteria are found to be access to knowledge of local market, access to distribution channels, access to links with major buyers and access to knowledge of local culture. The most important partner-related selection criteria are trust between the top management teams, relatedness of partner's business and reputation. A parsimonious set of selection criteria for the sample is provided by means of factor analysis. Hypotheses are tested on the relationship between the relative importance of selection criteria and a number of characteristics of the sample—partner nationality, industry of the joint ventures, joint-venture purpose, geographical location of the venture, initial approach for joint-venture formation and relative partner size. The greatest variation in the relative importance of selection criteria occurs with the geographic location of the joint venture.  相似文献

O2O外卖作为"互联网+"时代下的新型餐饮模式,日益受到人们的关注。本文研究的O2O外卖服务供应链由一个O2O外卖平台、一个餐饮商家和一个配送骑手构成。O2O外卖平台决策平台的服务质量努力和服务费用,餐饮商家决策产品价格,骑手决策配送服务质量努力程度,同时会受到来自平台或商家的服务质量激励。通过分析商家配送、平台配送和商家自建平台+配送三种运营模式,分别构建O2O外卖服务供应链成员的利润函数,运用博弈理论,优化得到不同模式下O2O外卖服务供应链成员的最优质量控制策略和最优利润。利用公式推导和对比分析,分别探讨了骑手激励金额上限和市场规模对服务供应链最优策略和最优利润的影响。通过数值仿真,可得结论:服务供应链各成员利润均随着市场规模的增大而增大,随着骑手激励金额上限的增加而先增大后减少。当市场规模较小时,平台配送模式下商家最优利润最大。而当市场规模较大时,商家自建平台+配送模式下商家最优利润最大。  相似文献

基于战略的制度基础观,本文认为在中国限制性行业中,企业战略行为的变化主要受制于其所在的制度环境,企业在制度框架下所具备的合法性高低决定了其战略行为的变化情况。依照历史发展的脉络,我们采用离散事件历史分析方法,对我国20多家汽车企业在1980年代到1990年代之间的轿车合资行为进行了考察,发现企业的声望和能力是汽车企业取得合法性的两个重要因素。研究发现,限制性行业中影响企业合法性的因素与其它行业有所不同,而合法性高的汽车企业成为行业中战略行为改变的先行者。  相似文献

This study examines the effects of the degree of industry globalization on international alliance formation in terms of the type of alliance chosen by partner firms and stock market responses to the chosen type of alliance. Using a sample of 244 international alliances formed between U.S. and non-U.S. firms for the 1992–97 period, we find that nonjoint venture (joint venture) alliances take place relatively more frequently in global (multidomestic) industries than in multidomestic (global) industries. We also find that in global industries, abnormal returns to nonjoint venture partners are relatively greater than those to joint venture partners, whereas in multidomestic industries, abnormal returns to nonjoint venture partners are relatively smaller, though insignificant, than those to joint venture partners. Our findings suggest that the degree of industry globalization plays an important role in explaining which type of international alliance is likely to be chosen by partner firms when entering an alliance and how stock markets tend to respond to the chosen type of alliance.  相似文献

From a sample of UK joint ventures with partners from Western Europe, the USA and Japan, dimensions of parent control of the ventures are considered by way of a taxonomy based on the mechanisms, extent and focus of control. The origins of the mechanisms of control identified in the study indicate that UK parents have not been sufficiently responsible for providing the mechanisms to allow them to exercise a greater leverage of control than that obtained by the foreign partners. The origins of the mechanisms of control also indicate relatively little autonomy for the managements of the joint ventures. Evidence from the study supports the view that joint venture parents seek to focus their influence of control over particular decisions and activities of the venture, rather than attempting to extend their control over the whole venture. The study considers the mechanisms and focus of control across the characteristics of the sample: contractual form of the venture, relative equity shareholding of the UK parent, time period of formation, nationality of foreign partner, industry group of the venture and broad purpose of the venture. Chi-squared tests show that there is little evidence of any systematic variation in the dimensions of control across the characteristics of the sample, the major exception to this being the relative equity shareholding of the UK parents.  相似文献

To date no study has presented data which systematically considers the detailed activity of UK firms in joint venture formation over a significant period of time. This paper attempts to rectify this position by providing key statistics on the formation of joint ventures between UK firms and partner firms in Western Europe, the USA and Japan over the 1980s. Yamato Transport Corporation recently entered the parcels business and has been very successful, taking the largest share of the market, in competition with the Japanese Post Office. By the use of a computerized information system, the company provides a rapid high quality service. Yamoto offers a pick up and delivery service. In this article, empirical research on post-investment activities of business angels is reviewed and conceptualized as five distinct governance processes: boundary spanning, structuring, leadership, doing, and monitoring. These processes have the potential to reduce the exposure of business angels to relational risk and market risk. The identification of these governance processes also contributes towards understanding the social aspect of business angels’ post investment involvement. In particular, it is shown how the recognition of the cognitive/institutional dimension opens up for new questions about post-investment involvement. Finally, it is proposed that venture performance can be enhanced in practice if business angels and venture members develop skills that are connected to the governance processes.  相似文献

在售后服务竞争日益激烈的大环境下,维修服务质量对于企业的意义越来越重要。经典的质保决策问题通常关心质保期和产品价格的联合决策问题,本文在此基础上进一步考虑了质保维修的服务质量问题。质保期、产品价格以及维修服务质量在产品生命周期内存在动态的关联关系,目前同时考虑此三类因素的研究尚不多见。本文以具有重复购买行为的大众消费品为研究对象,构建了包括成本模型、需求模型、利润模型在内的最优控制模型,并应用最大化原理对模型进行求解分析,在此基础上进一步对最优策略在静态市场和动态市场的应用分别做了具体分析和数值试验。  相似文献

运用协同学的原理与方法对风险资本和智力资本的协同条件及变化进行了定性分析,并对二者的协同效应进行了基于风险投资持股比例的门槛效应检验。结果显示:(1)协同效应下智力资本对企业绩效显著地存在“单门槛效应”,风险投资持股比例可以作为判断风险资本与智力资本发生协同作用的条件;(2)当风险投资持股比例高于门槛值时,智力资本会加速提升企业的资产利用效率和市场价值,但这一现象在企业人力资本增值效率方面的表现并不理想。研究结论表明智力资本的增值作用仍有提升空间,但协同效应的发挥需要满足一定的条件,客观上要求创业企业要有针对性的引进风险投资,以便改革、增强并利用智力资本。  相似文献

This study applies deep insights from the ability, motivation, and opportunity (AMO) framework as an overarching theoretical perspective to identify critical success factors for female entrepreneurs. In doing so, it investigates how entrepreneurial persistence (i.e., motivation or “M”), together with prior venture experience (i.e., ability or “A”) and competitive intensity (i.e., opportunity or “O”) influence the success of women's entrepreneurial activities. Using data from 308 Japanese female entrepreneurs, we show a positive association between entrepreneurial persistence and female entrepreneurs' venture growth, which becomes stronger when prior venture experience and competitive intensity are considered. Most importantly, the three-way interaction between these factors maximizes the business performance of female entrepreneurs. Thus, venture growth is the highest in the presence of high levels of entrepreneurial persistence, prior venture experience, and competitive intensity. Our findings suggest that policy makers should improve the competitiveness of women-led ventures and create supportive business environments for female entrepreneurs.  相似文献

本文以风险投资家的职业背景为研究视角,对比研究金融背景和实业背景风险投资家的投资业绩.借助风险投资项目、风险投资家个人、被投资企业的样本和数据,本文发现:相对于实业背景的风险投资家,金融背景的风险投资家更为成功,表现为所投资项目有更高的IPO退出率.而且,金融背景的风险投资家投资风格更为激进,如更倾向于进行独立、跨地区、大金额的投资.究其背后机理,本文发现金融背景的风险投资家能够利用其金融职业背景更好地支持被投资企业.譬如,有助于被投资企业更快获得下一轮VC融资,在IPO过程中帮助其雇佣声誉更好的承销商,且IPO抑价率相对较低.  相似文献

考虑到企业产品差异性、企业的私有化程度、外国资金的渗透等因素,研究了伯川德竞争情形下私有化程度、外资渗透与社会福利之间的关系以及私有化程度、外资渗透对混合双寡头市场的影响。首先建立混合双寡头的伯川德竞争模型,得出伯川德均衡解,然后在社会福利最大化下分产品为替代产品和互补产品两种情形分别得出了最优私有化程度的解,进而分析了外资渗透(或国内控股)对私有化程度与混合双寡头市场的影响。研究表明,生产替代性产品的企业进行价格竞争时,部分私有化企业为纯公共企业时社会福利达到最大,企业国内控股比例的增加将增大最优社会福利;生产互补性产品的企业在价格竞争下,实行国有企业公司制股份制改革时社会福利达到最大,并且国内控股比例的增加将降低最佳私有化程度,社会福利最大化下政府要鼓励产品多样化和减少国外资金的渗透。从整个社会和企业角度看,国有企业股份制改革策略为最佳策略。  相似文献

鉴于创始团队关键人力资本对新创企业发展的重要性及已有研究的不足,在界定相关概念及其结构维度的基础上,遵循资源/能力-地位-绩效理论逻辑,构建基于能力视角的创始团队关键人力资本对新创服务企业战略地位优势和绩效影响的概念模型。以环渤海、长三角、珠三角和海西地区的新创高技术服务企业创始团队成员为调研对象,基于182份有效问卷,运用SPSS 19.0和AMOS 17.0软件及多元层级回归方法分析数据。研究结果表明,创始团队关键人力资本的3个维度均显著提升新创高技术服务企业绩效,但作用机理不同,绩效效应存在差异,服务扩展优势部分中介适应性营销能力和市场链接能力与绩效的关系,服务扩展优势和服务差异化优势同时完全中介新服务开发能力与绩效关系;适应性营销能力和市场链接能力直接和通过服务扩展优势间接产生的综合绩效效应均显著高于新服务开发能力通过服务扩展优势和服务差异化优势间接产生的综合绩效效应;服务扩展优势在服务差异化优势转化为企业绩效的过程中发挥部分中介作用。新创高技术服务企业应合理配置和整合创始团队成员多样化能力,促进关键人力资本与战略地位优势的协同匹配。  相似文献
