Many multivariate quality control techniques are used for multivariate variable processes, but few work for multivariate attribute processes. To monitor multivariate attributes, controlling the false alarms (type I errors) and considering the correlation between attributes are two important issues. By taking into account these two issues, a new control chart is presented to monitor a bivariate binomial process. An example is illustrated for the proposed method. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, a simulation study is conducted to compare the results with those using both the multivariate np chart and skewness reduction approaches. The results show that the correlation is taken into account in the designed chart and the overall false alarm is controlled at the nominal value. Moreover, the process shift can be quickly detected and the variable that is responsible for a signal can be determined. 相似文献

In this study, a control chart is constructed to monitor multivariate Poisson count data, called the MP chart. The control limits of the MP chart are developed by an exact probability method based on the sum of defects or non conformities for each quality characteristic. Numerical examples are used to illustrate the MP chart. The MP chart is evaluated by the average run length (ARL) in simulation. The result indicates that the MP chart is more appropriate than the Shewhart-type control chart when the correlation between variables exists. 相似文献

The nature of competition in the high-technology manufacturing industry has changed dramatically over the last two decades, and any of the traditional indicators of business performance are insufficient today. We have identified a new set of financial and non-financial performance indicators that can be used by high-tech manufacturing companies and have developed a business performance evaluation model. A data envelopment analysis (DEA), an analytic hierarchy process (AHP), and a fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making approach are used in the model. Data from large-sized thin-film transistor liquid-crystal display panel companies in Taiwan were collected via a field survey and from various published databases and were fed into the model to determine the relative business performance of the companies. We hope that our findings will help high-tech manufacturing executives determine their companies’ strengths and weaknesses and lead to future improvements in business operations. 相似文献

The one-sided cumulative count of conforming (CCC) chart is a useful method to monitor nonconforming fraction in high-quality manufacturing processes. The nonconforming fraction parameter is assumed to be known when implementing a one-sided CCC chart. In this study, we investigated the impact of estimated nonconforming fraction, [pcirc] 0, in a one-sided CCC chart. The run length distribution is derived as well as the conditional probability of a false alarm rate (CFAR), conditional average run length (CARL) and its standard deviation (CSDRL). Simulation results are conducted to evaluate the effect of [pcirc] 0 in a one-sided CCC chart. The results show that values of CFAR, CARL and CSDRL are close to the nominal values for a large sample. The impact of estimation errors was also studied. We find that CFAR decreases for large [pcirc] 0. Thus, a large value of [pcirc] 0 is suggested for fewer false alarms. 相似文献

The Poisson GWMA (PGWMA) control chart is an extension model of Poisson EWMA chart. It is substantially sensitive to small process shifts for monitoring Poisson observations. Recently, some approaches have been proposed to modify EWMA charts with fast initial response (FIR) features. In this article, we employ these approaches in PGWMA charts and introduce a novel chart called Poisson double GWMA (PDGWMA) chart for comparison. Using simulation, various control schemes are designed and their average run lengths (ARLs) are computer and compared. It is shown that the PDGWMA chart is the first choice in detecting small shifts especially when the shifts are downward, and the PGWMA chart with adjusted time-varying control limits performs excellently in detecting great process shifts during the initial stage. 相似文献

In this paper, we introduce an alternative estimator of a population proportion from a dichotomous population when using randomized response sampling with continuous randomizing distributions. We also propose the alternative use of exponential randomizing densities. The estimator is obtained by method of moments and is compared with Franklin's (1989) estimator using normal and exponential distributions. The objective of this paper is to report on the vocational outcomes of individuals with psychiatric disabilities participating in a supported competitive employment (SCE) program. A total of 458 subjects enrolled in the present SCE program which was developed on the basis of the Supported Employment Model developed by Wehman [23] and the principles of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) developed by Becker and Drake [5]. Of the 458 subjects, 308 (67.3%) obtained competitive employment. The mean job tenure was 134 days. The mean salary was $4,740 for full-time jobs and was $2,321 for part-time jobs. The majority of subjects (59.4%) could sustain their job placement for more than 30 days, 74 (24.0%) subjects could work for more than six months, and 38 (12.3%) could maintain the job for more than one year. Subjects who became employed were compared to those who did not gain employment on a variety of demographic variables. Significant differences were found between two groups in terms of sex and source of referral. The rate of employment in the current study was slightly higher, but the job retention rate was lower than in earlier studies. Recommendations for future research on evaluation of the effectiveness of SCE program are suggested. 相似文献

Before the 1960s in Hong Kong, specialized vocational services for people with mental illness were very limited, and sheltered workshop seemed to be the only option for their future vocational placement at that time. As discussed in the literature, there are still many shortcomings of the sheltered workshop model, that brings us to the emergence of another community-based vocational service: Supported Employment. Unlike traditional vocational services, the concept of supported employment emphasizes the placing of the clients into integrated work environments and then providing on-going support and work-related skills training in the job post. Though supported employment services help many clients to sustain a job in the competitive market, many service barriers and problems still remain unsolved. These service barriers and problems will be discussed in this article, and suggestions will be made. 相似文献

We explore how formal managers' centralities in both positive and negative networks predict followers' perceptions of their leadership. By incorporating social networks and social ledger theory with implicit leadership theories (ILTs), we hypothesize that formally assigned group leaders (managers) who have more positive advice ties and fewer negative avoidance ties are more likely to be recognized as leaders by their followers. Further, we posit that managers' informal networks bring them greater social power, an important attribute differentiating leaders from non-leaders. We conducted two survey-based studies in student and field teams to test the hypotheses. Based on nested data in both studies, we found support for our hypotheses. These results remain robust across the two studies even though they used different designs (cross-sectional versus longitudinal), different samples (field versus students) across different countries (United States versus India), and a host of control variables at both the leader and follower levels. We find that managers who are central in the advice network are socially powerful and are seen as leaders by individual followers. In contrast, managers who are avoided by followers lack informal social power are not seen as leaders. We conclude by discussing the theoretical and practical implications of our findings and the ways in which our theory and results extend ILTs and social network theory. 相似文献
