In this article, we derive explicit expansions for the moments of beta generalized distributions from power series expansions for the quantile functions of the baseline distributions. We apply our formula to the beta normal, beta Student t, beta gamma and beta beta generalized distributions. In this paper, we propose a cure rate survival model by assuming that the number of competing causes of the event of interest follows the Poisson distribution and the time to event has the Birnbaum–Saunders (BS) distribution. We define the Poisson BS distribution and provide two useful representations for its density function which facilitate to obtain some mathematical properties. Two closed-form expressions for the moments of the new distribution are given. We estimate the parameters of the model with cure rate using maximum likelihood. For different parameter settings, sample sizes and censoring percentages, several simulations are performed. We derive the appropriate matrices for assessing local influence on the parameter estimates under different perturbation schemes and present some ways to perform a global influence study. The purpose of this article is to examine the role of the alignment between technological innovation effectiveness and operational effectiveness after the implementation of enterprise information systems, and the impact of this alignment on the improvement in operational performance. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to examine structural relationships between the set of observed variables and the set of continuous latent variables. The findings from this research suggest that the dimensions stemming from technological innovation effectiveness such as system quality, information quality, service quality, user satisfaction and the performance objectives stemming from operational effectiveness such as cost, quality, reliability, flexibility and speed are important and significantly well-correlated factors. These factors promote the alignment between technological innovation effectiveness and operational effectiveness and should be the focus for managers in achieving effective implementation of technological innovations. In addition, there is a significant and direct influence of this alignment on the improvement of operational performance. The principal limitation of this study is that the findings are based on investigation of small sample size. 相似文献

This paper uses a novel approach to infer hospital technical quality from revealed preferences over residency programs. Specifically, we use Spanish medical graduates’ residency choices made from 1995 to 2000. We start by estimating a model of medical graduates preferences that controls for hospital, proximity, specialty, and gender effects. We interpret the coefficients on the hospital dummy variables as measures of medical graduates’ preferences over hospitals. Our results show that graduates do indeed discriminate between hospitals and that their preferences correlate with hospital‐specific covariates arguably related to hospital training quality. We then show that preferences from medical graduates are positively and statistically significantly correlated with risk‐adjusted hospital rankings based on five alternative outcome measures. Finally, we construct reputation scores for each hospital using news story counts in three media outlets and find that medical graduates’ preferences are especially valuable for inference of hospital technical quality of care as they do not simply reflect well known reputation. 相似文献

The t distribution has proved to be a useful alternative to the normal distribution especially When robust estimation is desired. We consider the multivariate nonlinear Student-t regression model and show that the biased of the estimates of the regression coefficients can be computed from an auxiliary generalized linear regression. We give a formula for the biases of the estimates of the parameters in the scale matrix, which also can be computed by means of a generalized linear regression. We briefly discuss some important special cases and present simulation results which indicate that our bias-corrected estimates outperform the uncorrected ones in small samples. 相似文献

This article considers an approach to estimating and testing a new Kronecker product covariance structure for three-level (multiple time points (p), multiple sites (u), and multiple response variables (q)) multivariate data. Testing of such covariance structure is potentially important for high dimensional multi-level multivariate data. The hypothesis testing procedure developed in this article can not only test the hypothesis for three-level multivariate data, but also can test many different hypotheses, such as blocked compound symmetry, for two-level multivariate data as special cases. AbstractBirnbaum and Saunders (1969a) pioneered a lifetime model which is commonly used in reliability studies. Based on this distribution, a new model called the gamma Birnbaum–Saunders distribution is proposed for describing fatigue life data. Several properties of the new distribution including explicit expressions for the ordinary and incomplete moments, generating and quantile functions, mean deviations, density function of the order statistics, and their moments are derived. We discuss the method of maximum likelihood and a Bayesian approach to estimate the model parameters. The superiority of the new model is illustrated by means of three failure real data sets. We also propose a new extended regression model based on the logarithm of the new distribution. The last model can be very useful to the analysis of real data and provide more realistic fits than other special regression models. 相似文献
