The topic of this article is the estimation uncertainty of the Stock–Watson and Gonzalo–Granger permanent-transitory decompositions in the framework of the co-integrated vector autoregression. We suggest an approach to construct the confidence interval of the transitory component estimate in a given period (e.g., the latest observation) by conditioning on the observed data in that period. To calculate asymptotically valid confidence intervals, we use the delta method and two bootstrap variants. The effect of age on the immune system is generally detrimental and results in "immunosenescence," a poorly-defined state inadequately reflected in clinical data and for which few reliable "biomarkers of aging" are available. We introduce a special issue of International Journal of Management Reviews that demonstrates how to use review articles to address societal grand challenges—complex, large-scale issues facing humankind, such as climate change, inequality and poverty. First, we argue that review articles possess unique features that make them particularly useful for addressing societal grand challenges. Second, we discuss three distinct but related roles of review articles in addressing societal grand challenges: (1) advancing theoretical knowledge; (2) advancing methodological knowledge; and (3) advancing practical knowledge. This paper appraises and evaluates more than three decades of empirical research on strategic change. Strategic change research has traditionally built on either the deterministic view or the voluntaristic view – two opposing perspectives with fundamentally different assumptions about the influence of managers on the fortunes of organizations. In addition, a dialectical view on strategic change, which aims to bridge the two traditional views, has emerged. Despite the richness and value of research within these three perspectives, the continued accumulation of isolated and idiosyncratic insights adds little to the understanding of strategic change. In this paper, therefore, the authors assess, contrast and integrate research across the three perspectives in order to foster one cumulative body of knowledge about strategic change and to provide guidance for future research. Based on an analysis of 119 studies published in the leading academic journals in the fields of strategy and management, they consolidate existing knowledge and identify shortcomings in the cumulative body of research. On the basis of this assessment concerning prior research foci, study designs and assumptions, the authors propose four pathways for future research across the three perspectives that they believe can help foster full understanding of strategic change: (1) examinations of different types, processes and outcomes of strategic change; (2) expansion of the scope of actors considered in relation to strategic change; (3) exploration of the non‐linear nature of strategic change; and (4) investigations of strategic change conundrums. 相似文献

Is it acceptable when a company dismisses a worker because of a small property offense? What about workers who withhold information to their superiors because their performance bonus was canceled? This vignette study works out if and under which conditions bystanders assess these and similar retaliation measures as acceptable. Participants in an online panel were asked to judge the acceptability of different scenarios. The results show that respondents rather accept weaker than stronger retaliations, and that they rather accept measures that violate only organizational norms, but no legal norms. However, it also important what caused the reaction – for instance the acceptance of layoffs increases with the level of previous damage done to the employer. The characteristics of employers and employees described have, however, only a small impact on acceptance rates. Regarding the characteristics of survey participants, especially age had a significant impact – older persons are significantly less likely to accept norm violations than younger people. 相似文献
