The servant identity: Influences on the cognition and behavior of servant leaders

This paper approaches the study of servant leadership by concentrating on the identity of servant leaders. An identity is important to one's sense of self and it influences the way a leader cognitively processes socially relevant information and exercises a particular leadership behavior in response to a situation. Unlike existing studies, which typically approach servant leadership as one of a number of possible leadership styles, and which merely describe its characteristics, this paper serves to explain the basis for individuals enacting this mode of leadership. This paper defines and elaborates on the servant identity by showing the psychological factors constituting it. Taking a socio-cognitive approach, the paper offers a theoretical framework for the servant identity. The framework encompasses the cognitive and behavioral disposition of leaders with servant identity and the organizational contexts that influence it. This new angle on servant leadership opens avenues for future research and practice.     

A Study of Battered Women’s Purpose of Life and Resilience in South Korea

The principal objective of this study is to determine whether battered women’s purpose of life (meaning/value) affects resilience (self‐efficacy/communication efficiency/optimism). This purpose is meaningful in that it may help provide battered women with a new perspective of a changeable life, away from the negative perspectives frequently associated with domestic violence sufferers. The subjects of this study were 110 battered women staying at shelters located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, Korea. The survey was conducted between August 15 and September 20, 2010. The data were collected using questionnaires measuring sociodemographic variables, a purpose‐of‐life scale, and a resilience scale. The collected data were evaluated with frequency, correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the meaning and value of life positively influenced self‐efficacy. Second, only the meaning had a beneficial effect on communication efficiency. Third, only the value variable positively affected optimism. Therefore, this study implied that resilience is an important area in the context of spousal abuse. Based on these results, a program for enhancing the meaning of life is suggested to help domestic violence survivors to build up resilience.     

清代词集丛刻的文献价值与词学贡献

清词号为中兴,词集丛刻亦甚为发达,文献保存之功甚巨。清代前期词坛昌盛,词集丛刻如《国朝名家诗馀》等多为今人词集之汇辑,保存了大量当代名家词集。中期的词集丛刻则更多地倾向于中小作家,于此可见更为普泛化群体的创作状况,同时在编选倾向上又受浙派词风和乾嘉学风的影响,呈现出偏重浙西词派和重音律等特征。晚清词集丛刻数量大增,品类丰富,王鹏运的《四印斋所刻词》等搜辑宋元旧集,开启词集校勘之风,词学贡献尤为卓著。

Nonparametric Tests for Stratum Effects in the Cox Model

Thispaper considers the stratified proportional hazards model witha focus on the assessment of stratum effects. The assessmentof such effects is often of interest, for example, in clinicaltrials. In this case, two relevant tests are the test of stratuminteraction with covariates and the test of stratum interactionwith baseline hazard functions. For the test of stratum interactionwith covariates, one can use the partial likelihood method (Kalbfleischand Prentice, 1980; Lin, 1994). For the test of stratum interactionwith baseline hazard functions, however, there seems to be noformal test available. We consider this problem and propose aclass of nonparametric tests. The asymptotic distributions ofthe tests are derived using the martingale theory. The proposedtests can also be used for survival comparisons which need tobe adjusted for covariate effects. The method is illustratedwith data from a lung cancer clinical trial.     

经济效益综合评价中的简单方法──序时多属性决策方法

本文对序时多属性决策方法进行了研究,针对工业经济效益的综合评价,提出了二个简单的方法,它以简单加权法(SAW)的基础,能够自动确定各评价目标间的加权系数,对决策方案和评价目标没有任何数量要求和限制,决策结果不具有主观随意性,运用该方法对全国部分省市经济效益进行综合评价的结果表明；它与运用非序时多属性决策方法计算的结果基本一致,而后者的计算量大大多于前者。

影响川南浅丘区田坎玉米产量的气候条件分析

利用积分回归方法分析气候因子对川南浅丘区田坎玉米产量的影响。结果表明 ,日照、温度及降雨日数是影响田坎玉米产量的主要因子。苗期的高温 ,生育中期光照不足及灌浆成熟期的雨日偏多均不利于提高田坎玉米产量     

赖草PMC细胞融合现象的研究

本文报道了赖草（Ｌｅｙｍｕｓｓｃａｌｉｎｅ）花粉母细胞（ＰＭＣ）的细胞融合现象，结果表明，细胞融合主要发生在间期，终变期。间期发生细胞融合主要是细胞质转移，因此不会产生明显的遗传学效应。终变期细胞融合主要是染色体的迁移，其细胞遗传学效应主要是造成供体和受体细胞的染色体数目变化，从而产生了非整倍体配子。文章还对细胞融合产生的原因进行了讨论。
