随着改革的深入发展和人民生活水平的普遍提高,居民收入差距也明显扩大,这将对社会稳定、可持续发展及社会和谐发展都会产生一定的影响。因此,以科学理论为指导,坚持和落实科学发展观,正确处理改革和发展过程中出现的突出的社会问题,有效调节收入差距,才能建设社会主义和谐社会。     

谈《工伤保险条例》的溯及力

法的溯及力,也称法的溯及既往的效力,是指法对生效以前的事件和行为是否适用。如果适用,就具有溯及力;如果不适用,就没有溯及力。国务院于2003年4月27日颁布的《工伤保险条例》第64条规定:“本条例自2004年1月1日起施行。本条例施行前已受到事故伤害或者患职业病的职工尚未完成工伤认定的,按照本条例的规定执行。”这里明确规定了《条例》是有条件的溯及既往,即受到事故伤害或患职业病的职工已经向劳动保障行政部门申请了工伤认定,劳动保障行政部门对事故伤害或患职业病的职工工伤认定仍在受理认定中,即劳动保障行政部门尚未作出工伤认定结…

近代广东学术因缘——栏目解说

一地的学术传承及学风流变,自有其渊源因由.近代中国的社会变迁虽然天翻地覆,脱胎换骨,学术思想也随着各种东西学新知的大量输入而旧貌换新颜,内里仍然深受固有理路脉络的影响制约.就全国范围而言,历史上广东学术大都处于旁支地位.     

近代"中国哲学"发源

用解一字即作一部文化史的观念检计,"哲学"不仅是"phnosophy"的译名,其发明者西周以之为东洋学问的对应物.而将"哲学"与东洋连接在一起,始作俑者是东京大学,起重要作用的则是加藤弘之和井上哲次郎.后者在前者授意下撰写的<东洋哲学史>,用西洋philosophy系统条理中国古代思想,将"哲学"由他者的学问即西学,变成东洋精神世界的重要组成部分,演变为普遍性的学问.这与此前中村正直、岛田重礼主讲"支那哲学"仍旧依照中国脉络截然不同,背后实有掌控东亚话语权的立意.中国新进人士如王国维等接受哲学,已经将普遍性作为不言而喻的前提.这样的比附后来演变为用西洋系统条理中国思想的天经地义,也引起有识之士的反省.不过,"东洋哲学"与"支那哲学"给东亚尤其是中国提供了重估固有文化的机缘.就此而论,"中国哲学"包括:第一,用哲学概念重装古代思想(一般所谓中国哲学史);第二,"哲学"和"中国哲学"的发生及其来华后的发展演化;第三,借鉴philosophy以丰富和发展中国的思维.寻求"哲学"在中国的历史脉络,应该严格分别一二两项.至于前景如何,后一方面的成效至关重要.     

Random Weighting Estimation for Quantile Processes and Negatively Associated Samples

This article presents new theories of random weighting estimation for quantile processes and negatively associated samples. Under the condition that X ₁, X ₂,…, X _n are independent random variables with a common distribution, the consistency for random weighting estimation of quantile processes is rigorously proved. When X ₁, X ₂,…, X _n are not independent of each other, random weighting estimation of sample mean is established for negatively associated samples.     

Pathways to happiness: From personality to social networks and perceived support

The present study attempts to incorporate individual personality into a social network account of subjective wellbeing (SWB) by proposing and testing a path model in which social relationships (egocentric social networks and perceived social support, PSS) mediate the relationship between personality and SWB. We found that network characteristics (including network size, emotional closeness, and proportion of new contacts) are related to SWB largely via the mediation of PSS. Additionally, network size and proportion of new contacts function as important mediating mechanisms linking extraversion, agreeableness and openness to PSS and SWB.     

It's More Than an M‐shape: The Political Economy of Female Non‐Standard Workers in the Republic of Korea

This study examines the re‐entrance of female workers into the Korean labor market. We highlight that women in their 40s have the highest rate of employment among all female workers and that a large proportion of these women are entering into non‐standard employment. In approaching this question, we examine the political economy of this phenomenon by first discussing the demand side of the Korean labor market using the gendering of the varieties of capitalism argument and then the supply side with the work–life balance argument. When examining re‐entrance into the labor market, women with general skills with lower education and higher education both found it more feasible to re‐enter the labor market as non‐standard workers. While work–life balance is a prominent reason for women's choice of opting out of the labor market, work–life balance choice mattered less for women re‐entering the labor market as non‐standard workers in their 40s and 50s but instead firmly based skill formation mattered more. In addition, the retail service industry is suggested to absorb a large number of female workers with lower skill levels who would have had difficulties in re‐entering other male‐oriented companies.     

Fearing yellow,imagining white: media analysis of the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882

The Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 was a watershed event in the context of race, nation, and the law because it denied Chinese immigration into the USA for over 80 years. This paper analyses the media coverage of the Chinese in the San Francisco Chronicle during the year of the Act's passage. The theoretical framework of ‘Purity and Danger’ provides a starting point in analyzing how whiteness and nation are constructed as ‘pure’, while Chinese immigration is constructed as a ‘danger’ within a symbolic, racial and political manner. Discourse analysis was applied to the data for an intersectional investigation of race, class, gender, and nation, to determine how the discourse is organized thematically, as well as uncover ideological meanings in relation to how ‘fearing yellow’ also reflected ‘imaging white’ in media discourse.
