This study proposes and validates a research model that examines individuals’ learning behavior. Drawing on social cognitive theory (SCT), this study postulates self-efficacy, outcome expectations, social influence, and facilitating conditions as the key drivers of individuals’ learning behavior. Learners’ residential location and prior performance are also considered as moderators in the proposed model. This study contributes to the education literature by extending traditional SCT models to examine the previously unexplored area of environmental factors containing social influence and facilitating conditions, by validating idiosyncratic drivers of learning behavior and by presenting an operationalization of location and prior performance as two moderators in the learning behavioral formation. Research has shown that young people who care for parents and relatives (young carers and young adult carers) are at greater risk of mental and emotional difficulties and are more likely to do badly at school or college. To explore the difficulties faced by young adult carers (aged 14–25) in the UK, an online survey was conducted. Almost half (45%) of the 295 respondents reported having a mental health problem. After a two-year renovation, the Kent State University Music Library reopened as the Performing Arts Library. Before the closure, some serials were sent to the depository or reclassified within the library. In order to assist patrons browsing print journals or searching for articles in the stacks, library staff created shelf dummies detailing print and electronic holdings information as well as indexing for each title. This paper contributes to the literature of suicide studies by presenting procedures and its estimates of the number of family
members who lose their loved ones to suicide. Using Japanese aggregate level data, three main findings emerge: first, there
are approximately five bereaved family members per suicide; second, in 2006, there were about 90,000 children who had lost
a parent to suicide; and third, in 2006, there were about three million living family members who had lost a loved one to
suicide. The direct production loss of bereaved family members in 2006 alone is estimated at approximately 197 million USD.
These results are valuable in evaluating the cost-effectiveness of suicide prevention programs and in designing appropriate
