We obtain a Bayes predictor and a Bayes prediction risk of the mean of a finite population relative to the balanced loss function. The predictive expected losses associated with classical and standard Bayes predictors are derived and compared with that of a Bayes predictor under a balanced loss function. Segregated half-and-half and mutually orthogonal power sequence terraces have been used in this article for the construction of some new families of control balanced cross-over designs, which are Schur-optimal. One of the advantages of using terraces is that designs with larger number of treatments can also be constructed with relative ease. Interstate migration in developing countries is a key income generating strategy for low-income households. In India, despite the importance of migration between states, interstate migrants continue to face significant integration barriers in their destination states. The impact of state borders on migration within India is significant and large. This study presents one of the first attempts at creating a set of indicators to understand the role of state-level policies for the integration of interstate migrants in a developing country. After illustrating the process behind the creation of this tool and the tool in itself, we compare seven of the major migrant destination states of India, based on their policy frameworks relevant to the integration of interstate migrants. Out of these states, we found that Kerala state is the most inclusive of interstate migrants but that overall, policymakers in the considered Indian states have a long way to go to improve the integration of interstate migrants. 相似文献

This paper deals with a multi-machine, multi-product lot size determination and scheduling problem. The model developed here considers not only the usual inventory-related operational cost, but also the costs that depend on under- or over-utilization of available men and machines. It penalizes overtime or idle time at any facility. The solution minimizes the inventory and resource-related costs and not just inventory costs. A heuristic is developed to determine the solution from the model and to modify it, as necessary, to obtain a conflict-free, repetitive, and cyclic production schedule for an infinite horizon. Although this model is developed for a manufacturing situation, the words machine, job, and machine shop are used in a symbolic sense, and hence the model can be used in practice in a variety of circumstances. 相似文献

Much of the research on big data analytics has been centered on technical or system development. Research has been carried out on the usage of big data analytics to understand customer relationships and experience, amongst others. Still, there is a lack of research in the retail industry considering big data management, examining the impact on customer satisfaction and organizational performance in the retail sector. Retailers explore analytics to gain a unified picture of their customers and operations across the store or online channels and make strategic decisions contributing to the growth of the retail industry. Thereof, this study has been conducted by majorly focusing on the Singapore retail industry to clarify the feasibility of big data management analytics. Quantitative research method was employed involving 500 participants from the retail industry of Singapore. The results of the study stated that amongst the different big data analytics utilized within the retail industry of Singapore, social media analytics had been majorly answered by the participants. Future researchers can study about the upcoming retail trends in Singapore and how the effects of big data analysis changed in the past few years and deal with the unexpected future recessions in the retail industry within Singapore. 相似文献

Orthogonal block designs for Scheffé’s quadratic model have been considered previously by Draper et al. (1993), John (1984), Lewis et al. (1994) and Prescott, Draper, Dean, and Lewis (1993). Prescott and Draper (2004) obtained mixture component–amount designs via projections of standard mixture designs, viz., the simplex-lattice, the simplex-centroid and the orthogonally blocked mixture designs based on latin squares. Aggarwal, Singh, Sarin, and Husain (2009) considered the case of components assuming equal volume fractions and obtained mixture designs in orthogonal blocks using F-squares. In a screening design, often only a few factors among a large number of potential factors are significantly important. Usually, it is not known which factors will be important ones. Thus, it is of practical interest to know if each projection of a design onto a small subset of factors is able to entertain and estimate all two-factor-interactions along with its main effects, assuming higher order interactions are negligible. In this paper, we investigate the estimation capacity of projections of Hadamard designs with run size up to 60.
