Inference of Genetic Networks from Time Course Expression Data Using Functional Regression with Lasso Penalty

Statistical inference of genetic regulatory networks is essential for understanding temporal interactions of regulatory elements inside the cells. In this work, we propose to infer the parameters of the ordinary differential equations using the techniques from functional data analysis (FDA) by regarding the observed time course expression data as continuous-time curves. For networks with a large number of genes, we take advantage of the sparsity of the networks by penalizing the linear coefficients with a L ₁ norm. The ability of the algorithm to infer network structure is demonstrated using the cell-cycle time course data for Saccharomyces cerevisiae.     

Smoothing techniques via the bezier curve

Although the Bezier curve is very popular in the area of computational graphics it has rarely been used by statisticians. In this paper we develop methods and techniques for use of the Bezier curve in estimation of density and regression function. Also, asymptotic mean integrated square error for both estimators are derived. Comparisons with kernel estimator are conducted using simulation.     

Nonparametric estimation of quantile functions for randomly right censored data

In this paper we compare four nonparametric quantile function estimators for randomly right censored data: the Kaplan–Meier estimator, the linearly interpolated Kaplan–Meier estimator, the kernel-type survival function estimator, and the Bézier curve smoothing estimator. Also, we compare several kinds of confidence intervals of quantiles for four nonparametric quantile function estimators.     

OBE理念下对高校微课教学价值的反思

作为教育信息化时代新技术与教育改革融合发展的共生产物,微课在教育领域备受关注。高校微课的快速发展对教师教学活动层面产生了一些影响,但对教学水平和人才培养质量的提升并没有产生实质性的助推力,且存在实践成效不够显著、系统的价值思考不够深入、对学生学习成效的关注不够充分、理论支撑体系不够成熟等不足之处。因此,在成果导向（Outcome-Based Education,OBE）理念下反思高校微课的目标定位、价值取向、教学设计和效果评价原则,应“以生为本”“以学为中心”,以提升学生综合能力为目标,以促进学生成功发展为取向,坚持成果导向反向设计原则及多元化、可迁移性的评价原则。     

A lower bound for the centred L 2-discrepancy on combined designs under the asymmetric factorials

The foldover is a useful technique in the construction of two-level factorial designs for follow-up experiments. To search an optimal foldover plans is an important issue. In this paper, for a set of asymmetric fractional factorials such as the original designs, a lower bound for centred L ₂-discrepancy of combined designs under a general foldover plan is obtained, which can be used as a benchmark for searching optimal foldover plans. All of our results are the extended ones of Ou et al. [Lower bounds of various discrepancies on combined designs, Metrika 74 (2011), pp. 109–119] for symmetric designs to asymmetric designs. Moreover, it also provides a theoretical justification for optimal foldover plans in terms of uniformity criterion.

The Absolute Difference Law For Expectations

We revisit the addition law for expectations and present a sibling law: the absolute law for expectations. We show that these two laws and their corresponding laws for probabilities can be reconciled under a single framework. As an application, we use the absolute law for expectations to calculate the mean absolute deviation. Finally, we remark on a hidden point in a related article previously published on these pages; this will help readers to avoid a potential pitfall.     

基于航空竞争视角的高铁客票动态定价分析

高铁固定的定价方式是制约获得更高利润的因素,面对航空动态定价机制,高铁科学、合理的定价策略是破解盈利不足的关键.在现行机制下,构建Hotelling模型,分析高铁静态定价和航空动态定价、高铁和航空同时动态定价的均衡,比较实施高铁静态定价和动态定价的收益.研究结果表明,高铁实行动态定价能增加收益.

"光棍节"已成为新兴节日的典型代表。近年来,这一节日的影响力和社会认可度迅速攀升。在"光棍节"的形成和发展过程中,媒体起到了关键性作用,并且,从2003年初创至今,媒体所呈现的"光棍节"形象已发生流变。对主要报纸媒体资料的研究发现,"光棍节"的媒体形象从早期的社会文化形象和娱乐形象逐步演变为突出商业气息的商业形象,因此,要加强媒体的社会文化传承功能和市场化环境下媒体的自觉和自主性。
