The Research on Two Kinds of Restricted Biased Estimators Based on Mean Squared Error Matrix

Akdeniz and Erol (2003 Akdeniz , F. , Erol , H. ( 2003 ). Mean squared error matrix comparisons of some biased estimators in linear regression . Commun. Statist. Theor. Meth. 32 : 2389 – 2413 .[Taylor & Francis Online], [Web of Science ®] , [Google Scholar]) have compared the (almost unbiased) generalized ridge regression estimator with the (almost unbiased) generalized Liu estimator in the matrix mean squared error sense. In this article, we study the ridge estimator and Liu estimator with respect to linear equality restriction, and establish some sufficient conditions for the superiority of the restricted ridge estimator over the restricted Liu estimator and the superiority of the restricted Liu estimator over the restricted ridge estimator under mean squared error matrix, respectively. Furthermore, we give a numerical example.     

Ridge Regression Estimation for Survey Samples

This paper describes procedure for constructing a vector of regression weights. Under the regression superpopulation model, the ridge regression estimator that has minimum model mean squared error is derived. Through a simulation study, we compare the ridge regression weights, regression weights, quadratic programming weights, and raking ratio weights. The ridge regression procedure with weights bounded by zero performed very well.     

Shortest prediction intervals for the birnbaum-saunders distribution

Shortest prediction intervals for a future observation from the Birnbaum-Saunders distribution are obtained from both frequentist and Bayesian perspectives. Comparisons are made with alternative intervals obtained via inversion. Monte Carlo simulations are performed to assess the approximate intervals.     

A brief proof on the generalized variance bound of the relative efficiency in statistics

In this paper, we obtain a brief proof on the generalized varance bound of the relative efficiency that was simultaneously given by Bloomfield and Watson(1975) and by Knott (1975).     

制造业效率区域差异及其影响因素分析——基于中国省级面板数据的研究

制造业的发展关系到第二产业乃至整个国民经济的发展,制造业的增长是中国工业经济增长的主导力量。本文运用数据包络分析法,测度了制造业各行业及中国各省制造业效率情况,然后利用中国省级制造业效率指标以及专利申请、地区经济发展水平等制造业效率影响因素的外延数据构成面板数据（Panel Data）建立模型。通过实证分析得出：地区经济的发展有利于制造业效率的提升。专利申请与制造业效率呈负相关。     

Quasi-minimax estimation in the general linear regression model

This paper is mainly concerned with minimax estimation in the general linear regression model y=Xβ+ε$y=X\beta +\epsilon$ under ellipsoidal restrictions on the parameter space and quadratic loss function. We confine ourselves to estimators that are linear in the response vector y  . The minimax estimators of the regression coefficient β$\beta$ are derived under homogeneous condition and heterogeneous condition, respectively. Furthermore, these obtained estimators are the ridge-type estimators and mean dispersion error (MDE) superior to the best linear unbiased estimator b=(X^′W^-1X)^-1X^′W^-1y$b=(X^{\prime }{W}^{-1}X{)}^{-1}{X}^{\prime }{W}^{-1}y$ under some conditions.     

De-aliasing effects using semifoldover techniques

Semifoldover designs, obtained by semifolding a regular two-level factorial design, have been discussed recently in the literature. In this article, with the use of indicator functions, we investigate various semifoldover designs that are obtained from a general two-level factorial design. We discuss when a main factor or a two-factor interaction can be de-aliased from their aliased two-factor interactions, and extend some of the existing results from regular designs to non-regular designs. Finally, we present some examples to illustrate the results developed here.     

Nonparametric Tests for Stratum Effects in the Cox Model

Thispaper considers the stratified proportional hazards model witha focus on the assessment of stratum effects. The assessmentof such effects is often of interest, for example, in clinicaltrials. In this case, two relevant tests are the test of stratuminteraction with covariates and the test of stratum interactionwith baseline hazard functions. For the test of stratum interactionwith covariates, one can use the partial likelihood method (Kalbfleischand Prentice, 1980; Lin, 1994). For the test of stratum interactionwith baseline hazard functions, however, there seems to be noformal test available. We consider this problem and propose aclass of nonparametric tests. The asymptotic distributions ofthe tests are derived using the martingale theory. The proposedtests can also be used for survival comparisons which need tobe adjusted for covariate effects. The method is illustratedwith data from a lung cancer clinical trial.     

简论中国古代的环境伦理思想

中国古代环境伦理思想的哲学基础是天人统一观 ,尊重生命 ,兼爱万物是这一伦理思想的主题。寡欲节用是中国古代珍惜自然资源的传统美德。中国古代就已形成了渗透环境伦理意识的政法理念。不同于西方传统伦理学所奉行的人类中心主义 ,中国先哲主张保持人和自然关系的和谐统一。作为珍贵的文化遗产 ,中国古代环境伦理思想是保证和维护中华民族几千年生存繁衍和中华文明绵延不断的重要因素之一 ,它对现代环境伦理学的发展也具有重大的理论借鉴价值。在当前现代化建设中 ,有分析地借鉴我国古代的环境伦理思想 ,对创建适合我国国情的环境伦理学 ,解决社会可持续发展问题是极有意义的
