A SURVEY OF TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PREDOCTORAL PSYCHOLOGY INTERNS IN MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY
The major clinical training experience for future psychologists is the one-year predoctoral internship. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of marriage and family therapy training available to predoctoral psychology interns. All identifiable internship programs were surveyed to determine training opportunities for doctoral psychology students interested in marriage and family therapy training. A questionnaire was developed and mailed to all predoctoral internshipslisted in the 1983–84 Internship Programs in Professional Psychology (IPPP) and 18 additional sites known to offer marriage and family therapy training. Results indicate that relatively few psychology internships offer substantial training in marriage and family therapy. A listing of internships offering significant levels of training was developed. 相似文献

The purpose of this research is to determine if there is an association between ombudsman report rates of abuse, gross neglect, and exploitation from 1997 through 2002 and ombudsmen's public and staff education, investigative process, program expenditures, and census demographics. Data were obtained from the National Ombudsman Reporting System. Ombudsman annual reports of nursing home abuse, neglect, and exploitation are representative of that state's individual program. These reports should not be construed to represent all abuse in nursing homes. Physical abuse and resident-to-resident abuse were the highest rates of abuse reported. Census demographics and ombudsman program characteristics were associated with rates of abuse. 相似文献

This paper considers the development of voluntary action in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Drawing on research
conducted during 2002–2003 at the Centre for Voluntary Action Studies at the University of Ulster and funded by the Royal
Irish Academy, it is argued that the way that voluntary and community organizations developed in Ireland’s two jurisdictions
after the partition of the island in 1922 illuminates debates on the role of states in structuring the civic space in which
voluntary action occurs. It illustrates, in particular, the interaction of state policy drivers with the cultural and ideological
forces that shape voluntary action. Analysis lends support to the view that state action, together with cultural trends and

The succession process in family enterprises is a complex and potentially difficult challenge. The retiring boss and his or her junior successor have to negotiate family ties, potentially different entrepreneurial plans, and their feeling of responsibility for the company’s welfare. Such inter-generational tensions, influenced by different attitudes, might cause massive conflicts. To make a succession process within families successful, economic, legal, and psychological factors need to be addressed. Psychological methods could help to estimate the successor’s rating on established personality criteria of entrepreneurial success. The result of a suitable psychological diagnostic assessment demonstrates their strengths and weaknesses. This enables the successors to overcome or to develop strategies to compensate for their weaknesses. Such a process has the potential to increase their entrepreneurial fitness and to calm the retiring person’s worries. This paper describes the application of a Single-Assessment Centre on the basis of a case study in the context of entrepreneurial succession planning. The results from the Single-Assessment case study highlight the successor’s low self confidence and lack of social skills. These outcomes are interpreted within the framework of a psychodynamic model. On a more abstract level the results lead to the conclusion that, regarding the intra-familial succession planning process, it is necessary to solve the successors’ oedipal conflicts. 相似文献

Clients in psychotherapy with social workers, psychiatrists and psychologists learn things that they did not know previously. This learning modifies their view of reality and themselves. Clients learn that their problems are, to an extent universal, interpersonal—both out from themselves and to themselves from others, due to experiences in their past in their families, perhaps solvable by identifying with successful others, often due to unrealistic expectations about themselves, others and existence in general. We describe a family of related discrete reliability-growth methodologies potentially applicable to one-shot systems undergoing
a test-analyze-and-fix development process. The common feature shared by the models is their connection to Duane's renowned
learning-curve property. The major difference, however, lies in their applicability in the context of two intrinsically different
sampling schemes. For each model, a summary of the statistical properties of various estimators of the parameters as well
as the reliability of the system, are reported. For purposes of assessing model misspecification, a particular test execution
scenario conforming to a inverse sampling scheme is adopted. In reliability applications, it is not an uncommon practice to
borrow inference results from models which are inappropriate in this setting. A detailed study of the potential impact of
such misspecification on the estimation of system reliability is presented.
