我的“青少年保护鄱阳湖计划”

2008年5月16日,我正式向江西省领导以建言献策的形式陈述了我的建议,我把其命名为“青少年保护鄱阳湖计划”。该计划的目的是为提高青少年,尤其是那些居住在鄱阳湖周边地区青少年的环保意识,这对鄱阳湖的未来保护和可持续发展至关重要。     

Integrated community development/conflict resolution strategies as 'peace building potential' in South Africa and Northern Ireland

This paper argues that integrated community development andconflict resolution strategies could help to sustain peace in‘post-settlement’ contexts. The conceptual backgroundto this argument is unfolded through the tracking of key conceptssuch as convergence, post-settlement contexts, civil society,community development, conflict resolution, peace building,and multi-track approaches to peace building. Empirical evidencefor convergences at the practice level is presented throughexcerpts from two case studies, one from Northern Ireland andthe other from South Africa. Some of the key issues around whichcommunity development/conflict resolution strategies coalescerelate to addressing human needs, encouraging people participation,and building democracy. These are critical peace building tasks.Despite the positive potential of such integrated strategies,both South Africa and Northern Ireland face crucial challenges.     

The History of College Health Nursing

Abstract

Almost from the beginning of formal college health programs in the second half of the 19th century, college health nurses were there to care for students in college and university settings. By the end of the 20th century, the role of college health nurses had evolved with the nursing field in general, but with enough unique features for the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center to recognize college health nursing as a professional subspecialty and administer the first College Health Nurse Certification examinations. In addition, new nurse practitioner programs provided practicing nurses with more independence, and their duties continued to expand beyond care of the sick to include health promotion, administrative, and teaching activities. As a result of these changes, college health nurses now play a larger role in the life of students and promoting a healthy campus community than ever before in the history of college health.     

Toward a grounded theory of lesbians' recovery from addiction

This article presents the results of a qualitative study on lesbians' recovery from addiction. The study involved semi-structured interviews with 20 lesbians in recovery from addiction and was analyzed using grounded theory method. The central theme that emerged was self-acceptance, both as a lesbian and as a recovering alcoholic/addict, with considerable interaction between the two. Categories that contributed to this theme were learning to recover, relationships with other people, and relationship with something bigger than self. The discussion addresses how this information can be used to assist lesbians trying to recover from addiction.     

Current issues in HIV disease and AIDS: Implications for health and rehabilitation professionals

HIV disease and AIDS are being redefined as chronic, long-term conditions that are suitable for vocational rehabilitation interventions. With the advent of more effective medical interventions, many individuals with these diseases are living longer and are interested in pursuing employment options. In this article, physiological and neurological symptoms, psychological and mental health issues, psychosocial issues affecting women, and employment-related issues and interventions are discussed as they apply to the health and rehabilitation practitioner working with individuals with HIV disease and AIDS.     

Qualitative research strategies in rehabilitation

This article presents an overview of the qualitative research methods that social scientists use to explore human phenomena. The authors describe the philosophical and historical foundations of qualitative research, coupled with illustrations of specific qualitative designs. Applications of qualitative methods in the contemporary rehabilitation literature are also presented.
