Results of media violence research: Overview and problemsOn the basis of massive acts of violence of children and young people the question arises to what extent the media make a contribution to these incidents. The results of empirical media research about the effects of the consumption of violence representations in the media are collected. As the basis for the argumentation predominantly the existing metaanalysis in the international research literature were used; with these can be convincingly argued against those theses, put again and again into the public in order to weaken the importance of medium influence. The theses set up in the public discourse are arranged thereby in the sense of an ?encyclopaedia of popular mistakes“, which are analyzed critically and disproved.On the basis of a multifactor model about the emergence of acts of violence the ways of how medium representations can affect behaviour are delineated. The view presented actually in the empirical media research corresponds neither to the frequently postulated and roughly simplifying imitation thesis, still to the simple stimulus-reaction hypothesis. However, in the public discussion these and other simplifying assumptions are reiterated again and again in order to diminish the responsibility of the media. It is also to be considered that subjective evidences, after which such effects are denied, are even explanation-needy facts, which since a long time are well documented in the social-psychological research as ?Third person effect“. Additionally suggestions are made, which measures within the diverse social fields against the media flood and its effects are to be taken.  相似文献

Differences between coaching and psychotherapyCoaching is not a hidden psychotherapy with managers, though the methods are similar. Unlike psychotherapy, coaching mainly refers to the professional context, it requires normal capacities of self regulation and addresses to managers. A coach cannot take the place of a psychotherapist, and therapists cannot do the work of a coach without a respective education and role definition. Team-supervision in psychiatry — an empirical studyContinuing the discussion about the range of supervision in organisations, this paper presents an empirical study on team-supervision in psychiatry. The investigation is based on extended interviews with supervising and supervised persons in order to identify specific interpretations of supervision and to ascertain the transfer ranges of the supervision results. The paper concentrates on the hierarchical constitution of psychiatric team treatment, and the structural problems connected therewith. Team-supervision in psychiatry proves to be an ambivalent undertaking, rich in presuppositions, that offers specific advantages, but also carries high risks.  相似文献

Trust in the "agro-food" sector has been declining in recent years reflecting a general decline of trust in traditional decision making processes. The introduction of new technologies in the production of foods re-introduces the problem of trust and highlights the parameters affecting its structure and direction. This paper discusses the issue of trust in relation to the introduction of functional foods into the market. Trust is assessed as both a philosophical and a psychological construct with particular emphasis on its communication aspects. The paper ends with specific recommendations for action in the agro-food sector. This paper partly reflects work done with Professor Cees Midden, Technical University of Eindhoven, as part of an expert technology assessment project for the Europaeische Akademie Bad Neuenahr Ahrweiler GmbH.  相似文献

Associations and unions are under high optimisation pressure because of fewer public money and general changes in society. Many try to cope with this hard situation by looking for business management instruments. Quick solutions are however not easy to get. These organisations are for their members, to a high degree, social communities as well as political action communities and economic or services communities. These three different forms of communities constitute subsystems in associations with their own very specific organisatinal logic. If one of those subsystems get out of balance it would affect the two others. Modern management instruments are useless in changes projects handling changes, as long as the managing committee doesn’t initiate broad and extensive internal discussions about the future direction of the association. Project handling changes have only a chance to succeed, if they equally take into consideration all three subsystems.  相似文献

Hazan &; Shaver (1990) relate the emotional attachment and the working attitude of adults to the effects of emotional attachment and exploration experiences in early childhood.The present study analyses this question and relates the emotional attachment dimensions of anxiety and avoidance (Grau, 1994) to education oriented attitudes, e.g. interest in studies contents, satisfaction and priority in and of studies vs. private life and career orientation. 126 teaching profession and psychology students answered a questionnaire including the following concepts: Attachment dimensions, attachment types, study related attitudes and life-orientation. Attachment dimensions and attachment types showed the expected convergent validity. Results confirm most — bot not all — of the predicted relations between relationship’s dimensions and study oriented attitudes.  相似文献

Committee meetings and conferences build an everyday communication network in associations and organisations. The author investigates the generelly perceived experiences of emotional emptiness, boredom and monotony in committee meetings and shows that the different factors on which this dynamics is based are both cultural and structural in nature. She establishes that the institutional and interaction aspects in committee meetings have to be understood and handled like the two sides of a medal to allow committee meetings and conferences to be animated and used successfully.  相似文献
