情商就是一个人对自我情感世界的理解以及情绪控制的能力,这种能力与智力一样对一个人的成功有着重要的影响,甚至比智力的影响还要大,在中专语文教学中渗透对学生情商的培养,对学生健康心理的形成和人格的健全有着非常重要的意义。     

Forecasting the spot price of gold:combined forecast approaches versus a composite forecast approach

The fluctuation of the gold price has significant impact on the economic and social aspects of a society. In the literature, most authors have employed fundamental analysis approach in forecast model building. The basic principle underlying this approach is that it is the supply and the demand which simultaneously determines the gold price. However, due to the lack of data of quantity supplied and quantity demanded, simultaneous econometric approach seems unsuccessful. In this paper, combined and composite time series forecasting techniques are proposed. The effects of various economic factors towards spot price of gold are also examined. Among the combined forecasting models, it seems that the odds-matrix method of assigning weights provides the most accurate forecasts of spot price of gold. For the economic factors considered, the futures price of gold and and the exchange rate seem to be most informative in forecasting the spot price of gold.

Endogenous fertility and human capital in a Schumpeterian growth model

This study develops a scale-invariant Schumpeterian growth model with endogenous fertility and human capital accumulation. The model features two engines of long-run economic growth: R&D-based innovation and human capital accumulation. One novelty of this study is endogenous fertility, which negatively affects the growth rate of human capital. Given this growth-theoretic framework, we characterize the dynamics of the model and derive comparative statics of the equilibrium growth rates with respect to structural parameters. As for policy implications, we analyze how patent policy affects economic growth through technological progress, human capital accumulation, and endogenous fertility. In summary, we find that strengthening patent protection has (a) a positive effect on technological progress, (b) a negative effect on human capital accumulation through a higher rate of fertility, and (c) an ambiguous overall effect on economic growth.     

Consumption of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) Contaminated Beef and the Risk of Variant Creutzfeldt‐Jakob Disease

To date, the variant Creutzfeldt‐Jakob disease (vCJD) risk assessments that have been performed have primarily focused on predicting future vCJD cases in the United Kingdom, which underwent a bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) epidemic between 1980 and 1996. Surveillance of potential BSE cases was also used to assess vCJD risk, especially in other BSE‐prevalent EU countries. However, little is known about the vCJD risk for uninfected individuals who accidentally consume BSE‐contaminated meat products in or imported from a country with prevalent BSE. In this article, taking into account the biological mechanism of abnormal prion PrP^res aggregation in the brain, the probability of exposure, and the expected amount of ingested infectivity, we establish a stochastic mean exponential growth model of lifetime exposure through dietary intake. Given the findings that BSE agents behave similarly in humans and macaques, we obtained parameter estimates from experimental macaque data. We then estimated the accumulation of abnormal prions to assess lifetime risk of developing clinical signs of vCJD. Based on the observed number of vCJD cases and the estimated number of exposed individuals during the BSE epidemic period from 1980 to 1996 in the United Kingdom, an exposure threshold hypothesis is proposed. Given the age‐specific risk of infection, the hypothesis explains the observations very well from an extreme‐value distribution fitting of the estimated BSE infectivity exposure. The current BSE statistics in the United Kingdom are provided as an example.
