Inference of non-centrality parameter of a truncated non-central chi-squared distribution

Non-central chi-squared distribution plays a vital role in statistical testing procedures. Estimation of the non-centrality parameter provides valuable information for the power calculation of the associated test. We are interested in the statistical inference property of the non-centrality parameter estimate based on one observation (usually a summary statistic) from a truncated chi-squared distribution. This work is motivated by the application of the flexible two-stage design in case–control studies, where the sample size needed for the second stage of a two-stage study can be determined adaptively by the results of the first stage. We first study the moment estimate for the truncated distribution and prove its existence, uniqueness, and inadmissibility and convergence properties. We then define a new class of estimates that includes the moment estimate as a special case. Among this class of estimates, we recommend to use one member that outperforms the moment estimate in a wide range of scenarios. We also present two methods for constructing confidence intervals. Simulation studies are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed point and interval estimates.     

改进的投影寻踪分类模型及其在区域经济评价中的应用

作为多元数据的一种分析方法,投影寻踪分类模型已被一些研究者应用到实践中,并取得了良好的效果.然而,投影寻踪分类模型没有严格意义上的分类标准.通过引入有序样本聚类法,可以对投影寻踪分类模型得到的一维投影值进行客观分类.根据改进的模型,对江苏省区域经济的发展进行了综合评价,结果表明:改进的投影寻踪分类模型切实可行,为多元数据分类提供了新途径.     

Least squares estimation of varying‐coefficient hazard regression with application to breast cancer dose‐intensity data

To enhance modeling flexibility, the authors propose a nonparametric hazard regression model, for which the ordinary and weighted least squares estimation and inference procedures are studied. The proposed model does not assume any parametric specifications on the covariate effects, which is suitable for exploring the nonlinear interactions between covariates, time and some exposure variable. The authors propose the local ordinary and weighted least squares estimators for the varying‐coefficient functions and establish the corresponding asymptotic normality properties. Simulation studies are conducted to empirically examine the finite‐sample performance of the new methods, and a real data example from a recent breast cancer study is used as an illustration. 工业社会各种文化对传统手工艺文化的冲击和破坏是当前传统手工艺传承和保护困难的原因之一。适应当代社会文化发展的需要,重建传统手工艺文化是促进当前手工业发展的必要工作之一。要明确我国传统手工艺文化的突出特征以及文化重建的内涵。应结合现代工业文化的影响,对传统手工艺文化进行有重点的重建。重建的关键路径是,适应现代企业经营理念,重建传统手工业企业的经营文化和技艺传承文化,同时激发社会对传统手工艺文化的消费需求。     

幸福感的城乡差异分析——基于中国CGSS2008的调查数据

幸福感是人们对主观生活质量进行的一种情感性评价,是满意感、快乐感和价值感的有机统一。本文在文献评述及概念界定的基础上,结合《中国综合社会调查(CGSS)》(2008年)提供的数据,从自我期望体验、身心健康体验、心态平衡体验等三个层次上深入分析我国城乡居民幸福感之间存在的差异。通过对分类变量进行有序逻辑斯蒂回归,发现城乡居民幸福感差异与以往的研究结论不同,即农村居民幸福感不高于城镇居民。同时,简要分析这种现象产生的原因并提出相关的对策建议。
