Effects on high school students of teaching a cross-age alcohol prevention program

This study examined the impact on high school students who taught elementary students MADD's Protecting You/Protecting Me (PY/PM), an alcohol use prevention and vehicle safety program. High school students (N = 188) enrolled in a peer helping course completed surveys before and after teaching PY/PM, and a comparison group of peer helper students (N = 141) from matched schools completed surveys at the same times. Results indicated that, relative to the comparison group, those exposed to PY/PM gained knowledge of alcohol's effects, increased their perceptions of the risks of high levels of alcohol use, gained teaching skills, and showed less frequent episodes of binge drinking. No effects were found for attitudes toward future drinking, perceptions of the risk of low levels of alcohol use, alcohol use, or vehicle safety. This cross-age prevention program may be successful in changing high school students' knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding high levels, but not low levels, of alcohol use.

The Sexual Maltreatment of Students with Disabilities in American School Settings

This study presents results from the first nationwide survey of students with disabilities who were sexually maltreated in American schools. The Web survey results, which were mostly provided by caregivers, parents/guardians, and professional advocates, illuminate the types of sexual maltreatment committed, the characteristics of the victims and the abusers, where in the school setting the maltreatment occurred, the manner in which the maltreatment was reported, and the school’s response to the maltreatment. More than two-thirds of the maltreated students experienced at least one form of contact sexual maltreatment, and fully 35% of all incidences of maltreatment occurred more than 10 times. The majority of the incidences of maltreatment were committed by school personnel.     

马克思主义研究的三重意识及其自觉运用——“中外比较视域中的马克思主义研究”理论研讨会的方法论启示

中外比较视域中的马克思主义研究理论研讨会暨中国马克思主义哲学史学会2011年年会,4月16日至19日在河南科技大学召开。与会学者围绕会议主题就相关问题展开深入探讨,形成了丰富的马克思主义研究的共识和成果。从理论研究方法论的维度,可以将这些共识和成果集中概括为比较研究意识、前提划界意识和面向现实意识等三重理论研究意识及其在马克思主义研究中的自觉运用。这对于我们进行马克思主义研究及其理论的创新与发展具有深远意义和重大启示。     

马克思主义研究的三重意识及其范式内涵

方法论问题是近些年马克思主义研究中凸显的前沿和热点问题。对马克思主义研究的方法论的探讨,具有重大的理论意义和现实价值。学界对这一问题的探讨,虽然众说纷纭,成果层出不穷,但是仍存在不彻底、不明晰的状况。其根源就在于缺乏既能合理领会马克思主义精神实质,又能真正把握当代中国的时代发展命脉的科学创见和创新成果。"前提划界"、"比较研究"和"面向现实"等三重方法论意识,是马克思主义研究需要亟待明确和重视的关键点。将这三重意识统一于当代中国马克思主义研究范式,应是马克思主义研究实现理论突破与范式转换的重要举措。     

全球网络、本地网络对集群企业技术能力的影响

虽然全球价值链、产业集群等理论研究非常关注知识学习和创造的过程与机制,但是分析视角的"中观"属性使这些理论的研究较少与"微观"企业层次的能力积累建立直接的关联.然而,对于参与国际竞争的集群企业来说,亟待解决的首要问题恰恰是如何充分利用外部网络中包含的各种知识源来强化自身的竞争能力.这种理论与现实之间的张力引发了两个值得深入探讨的问题:全球网络与本地网络中的各种知识转移效应和机制是否能够作用于集群企业能力的构建?如果外部网络机制和效应的影响确实存在,那么各自的程度又如何?基于全球价值链、产业集群以及企业层次技术能力研究的已有文献,通过对中国浙江两个专业化产业集群进行问卷调查和实地访谈所获得的数据,对外部网络效应与集群企业技术能力之间的关系进行实证检验后显示:(1)并非所有的外部网络效应都能够影响集群企业的技术能力;(2)即使某些效应确实能够对集群企业的技术能力产生影响,其对不同技术子能力的影响程度也存在差异.

新世纪我国测绘事业面临新的机遇和挑战。建立数字地球是新世纪测绘科学面临的艰巨任务,我国测绘事业担负着繁重的历史使命,在基础理论研究、技术研究和应用研究方面都面临严峻挑战。
