Thousands of studies have been done in order to identify ?key success factors“ which enable the management of firms to exploit ?group effects“. I will discuss some of the effets which were traditionally in the focus of management desires and management science: commitment and social support. My intention is not to discuss these ?factors“ and their operationalization as constructs, but as examples for the prevailing logic and paradigm of group research. The first section offers an explanation for the phenomenon, why this kind of research suffers an almost complete lack of empirical evidence and theoretical advance. The next section presents an analytical approach that explains two other phenomena: first, the contradictory results of small group research; and second, the ambivalence of group work from the perspective of the working. The third section gives an example for the application of the ?potential-oriented perspective“ in an empirical case study of group-centered reorganisation.  相似文献

The paper deals with recent tendencies in mobile elder care in Austria. Based on the approach of ?interactive work“ the peculiarities of direct person oriented service work are elaborated as work with/at a subject. This contains a double subjectivity, i. e. the subjectivity of the care worker and the client in the work process. On the basis of qualitative empirical results the contribution describes in a second step the representation of this double subjectivity in professional identities of employees. The consequences for the work in mobile elder care of recent tendencies towards economisation on and especially the resulted work strains for the employees are focused in the third part. Economisation and standardisation are seen as inadequate strategies because they ignore double subjectivity of work in mobile elder care. This kind of cost-efficiency measures endangers the health stability of the work force as well as the quality of service work and put the client in the role of an object. So the closing remarks try to draw some conclusions on the resulting dangers of the analysed tendencies for ?help cultures“ in mobile elder care.  相似文献

This article analyzes a problem that can be described as the retirement syndrome. In exploring the difficulties many leaders face in letting go at the end of a full career, it reviews a number of the barriers to exit: financial, social, and psychological. It looks at the physical and psychological effects of aging, in the context of retirement; examines the experience of nothingness that single-minded careerists often feel after retirement; describes the talion principle, a subliminal fear of reprisals; and discusses the ‘edifice complex,’ the wish to leave behind a legacy. The article concludes with suggestions as to how individuals and organizations can develop more effective and humane disengagement strategies.  相似文献

The method of Gupta (1956, 1965) was developed to select a subset from k normal populations that contains the best populations with given probability. This paper shows a duality between the general goal of selecting a subset for the best population and many-one tests. A population should be regarded as ‘candidate’ for the best population and thus retained in the subset if the samples from the other populations are not significantly better. Based on this ‘idea’ a general selection procedure is proposed using many-one tests for the comparison of each population against the remaining ones.  相似文献

In this paper we will discuss constraints on the number of (non-dummy) players and on the distribution of votes such that local monotonicity is satisfied for the Public Good Index. These results are compared to properties which are related to constraints on the redistribution of votes (such as implied by global monotonicity). The discussion shows that monotonicity is not a straightforward criterion of classification for power measures.
