大学生素质教育的当代内涵

中共中央颁布了<关于进一步繁荣发展哲学社会科学的意见>,再次重申了人文社会科学在新阶段和新形势下的重要战略地位.本文拟从我国大学有关素质教育的角度看人文社会科学与自然科学的融合发展.     

An augmented approach to the desirability function

The desirability function is widely used in the engineering field to tackle the problem of optimizing multiple responses simultaneously. This approach does not account for the variability in the predicted responses and minimizing this variability to have narrower prediction intervals is desirable. We propose to add this capability in the desirability function and also incorporate the relative importance of optimizing the multiple responses and minimizing the variances of the predicted responses at the same time. We show that the benefits of our augmented approach using two real data sets by comparing our solutions with those obtained from the desirability approach. In particular, it is shown that our approach offers greater flexibility and the solutions can reduce the variances of all the predicted responses resulting in narrower prediction intervals.     

对学生<理论力学>学习成绩考评的改革和体会

本文回顾并分析了《理论力学》课程考试形式、内容和要求的历史演变过程,根据本课程的特点和要求,提出了在《理论力学》课的期终考试的试卷中增加理论概念题的比重,和在教学过程中适当穿插一些有关概念题的课堂小测验,以进行对学生学习成绩考评的改革,并总结了改革实践后的结果、体会和认识。     

编制合并报表:成本法与权益法的比较与选择

采用成本法核算对子公司的长期股权投资并据此编制合并报表,母公司能通过控制子公司的股利政策而操纵个别报表利润,合并净利润或期末留存收益也往往大于母公司个别报表中的相关指标。从而无法完成合并报表"数据验证"的自检功能,也使集团的净利润或期末留存收益虚增,据此计算的相关财务指标如投资报酬率也可能虚假或被曲解。采用权益法编制合并报表,则可克服上述不足,从而能提供更有用、更相关的信息。本文通过简例对上述差异进行了阐释。     

Design issues for population growth models

We briefly review and discuss design issues for population growth and decline models. We then use a flexible growth and decline model as an illustrative example and apply optimal design theory to find optimal sampling times for estimating model parameters, specific parameters and interesting functions of the model parameters for the model with two real applications. Robustness properties of the optimal designs are investigated when nominal values or the model is mis-specified, and also under a different optimality criterion. To facilitate use of optimal design ideas in practice, we also introduce a website for generating a variety of optimal designs for popular models from different disciplines.     

浅谈多媒体教育的重要性

现代信息技术的发展与应用使传统的教学环境、学习形式、教学内容、师生关系等发生了巨大变革。本文从现代教育技术、教育现代化和未来教育两者的关系来说明现代教育技术与当代教育改革的密切联系。     

“守正出新”兑现了吗——对袁行霈编《中国文学史》之学理批评

袁行霈先生主编的《中国文学史》被教育部指定为面向21世纪课程教材,其编写方针是守正出新,但实际并未达到这一目标,本文从文学史教材建设的角度对袁编《文学史》进行学理批评。认为:若与章编和郭编《文学史》相比,袁编《文学史》的主要缺陷表现在三个方面:体例欠严谨;增补欠合理;分析欠水平。     

Giving Back in an Asian American Community in the South: An Intergenerational Perspective

This paper explores the intergenerational dynamics of “giving back” among immigrants in an Asian American community in the southern region of the United States. The paper is guided by the intergenerational ambivalence paradigm to explore dynamics between first and second generations in their community involvement. The study used the qualitative method of phenomenological approach to identify emerging themes that include (a) importance of ethnic organizations; (b) defined roles and responsibilities within the ethnic organizations that exist between first and second generations; and (c) the second generation wanting to give back and manage ethnic organizations differently from the first generation.     

Race and Religion in Social Services

Members of non-dominant racial and religious groups may experience discrimination and inequalities in American society simply because of their race or religious affiliation. The experience may make recipients feel disempowered, humiliated, angry, and hopeless. Social service providers, including mental health counselors and social workers, are tasked with helping to improve individuals’ well-being in ways that range from basic needs to mental health. Given the growth in racial diversity and the role it plays in religion in the USA, it is important to understand social service providers’ experiences, thoughts, attitudes, or actions as they relate to the role of race and religion in service provision in order to better meet the needs of clients who may be marginalized and discriminated against. This qualitative study explored the research question of: What role do issues of race and religion play in social services. Themes identified included: (1) the marginalization of smaller racial and religious groups; (2) the existing assistance provided by religious organizations; and (3) the role of race and religion in social services. Findings from this study may contribute to a better understanding of the impact of race and religion on vulnerable populations in order to provide better social services.
