西夏的艺术成就与佛教在西夏国的盛行有着密切关系。黑水城出土的大量佛教画像塑像具有很高的艺术水准。西夏人的星相崇拜又反映了他们对天体的认识。明朝初年,黑水城历经战乱,生态环境日益恶化,水源枯竭,逐渐被人们废弃,成为一座神秘的死城。     

Towards a convergence of European social models?

The European Union (EU) has chosen to construct itself through its currency. The social dimension has been left at a secondary level, based on the principle that economic progress will end up "pulling" social models "upwards" This optimism now looks somewhat misplaced. For a whole series of reasons, European social protection systems are threatened by regression: the emergence of liberal economic ideas, the need to be competitive, the implementation of the Stability and Growth Pact, the fact that the differences in the levels of remuneration and social benefits in Euroland are more evident owing to the single currency and, as a result, the harsher social and fiscal competition. If Europe wishes to avoid the risks of social fragmentation due to the "leveling down" of social protection, it will have to organize a minimum threshold of EU solidarity.

文章通过对现代世界 (“雷奥那多”世界 )之技术形态和文化形态的分析 ,从人文科学和其他科学相互合作的角度探讨了那些根源于现代世界之双重性的问题 ,以及那些与双重文化之谜及所谓人文科学补充论有关的问题 ,并认为 ,人文科学的独特任务在于分析世界的文化形式并推动其发展。在这个意义上讲 ,人文科学应该是现代世界获取 ,并且是以科学的形式获取关于它自身知识的场所 ,虽然现代世界本身是科学和技术的产物。在此 ,文化概念不是指那种在双重文化论框架内由人文科学所代表的支离破碎意义上的文化存在 ,而是在广义上同时包容人文科学和自然科学及技术。     

Key Concepts in the Theory and Treatment of Narcissistic Phenomena

In the 90 years since Sigmund Freud opened the dialogue on narcissism, successive theorists have taken turns at defining what it is, where it comes from, whether or not it is healthy, and what to do about it when it is not. This paper summarizes the history of narcissism theory and offers thumbnail sketches of what narcissism looks like from the perspective of several major theorists. From these conceptualizations are derived six key concepts that recur in narcissism theory: (1) differentiation; (2) internal objects; (3) primitive defenses; (4) envy; (5) superego development; and (6) affect regulation. A vignette shows how these phenomena manifest, and strategies for intervention are discussed for each concept.     

A Perspective on Problem Gambling Treatment: Issues and Challenges

Researchers face several challenges in conducting gambling treatment research. These include the impact of monetary incentives to participate, difficulty in subject recruitment, treatment ambivalence, heterogeneity of gambling behaviors among treatment samples, the role of natural recovery, the impact of intractable financial pressures, and the specification of adequate process and outcome measures. Each challenge is defined and potential resolutions suggested.
