Public knowledge and attitudes toward child sexual abuse are shaped through media depictions and coverage. Since the media are the main source of information about child sexual abuse, studies of child sexual abuse news can help us understand how news is created, how child sexual abuse is presented to the public, and what is the possible impact of such presentation and coverage on the audience. A systematic review of content analysis research is conducted using predefined criteria in order to identify quality studies, main findings, research gaps and to develop recommendations for future studies. International databases were systematically searched using keywords in September 2017. A total of 24 original quantitative content analysis studies published in the English language were included in the review and evaluated according to research methodology. The framework of child sexual abuse news media studies is developed and main findings are highlighted: (1) presentation and coverage of child sexual abuse (n = 7); (2) prevalence of coverage of CSA cases reported to the authorities (n = 2); (3) presentation and coverage of child abuse and sexual crimes where child sexual abuse is only a subtopic (n = 9); (4) presentation and coverage of specific child sexual abuse cases or issues (n = 6). Although studies represent valuable contribution, most did not meet content analysis design and reporting standards or both (e.g., calculating intercoder reliability), which seriously compromises validity and replicability requirements. Recommendation for future studies and most common errors in conducting content analysis are emphasized.  相似文献

A new stationary first-order integer-valued autoregressive process with geometric marginal distributions is introduced based on negative binomial thinning. Some properties of the process are established. Estimators of the parameters of the process are obtained using the methods of conditional least squares, Yule–Walker and maximum likelihood. Also, the asymptotic properties of the estimators are derived involving their distributions. Some numerical results of the estimators are presented with a discussion to the obtained results. Two types of shifted geometric integer valued autoregressive models of order one (SGINAR(1)) are proposed. Both are based on the thinning operator generated by counting series of i.i.d. geometric random variables. Their correlation properties are derived and compared. Also, regression and conditional variance are considered. Nonparametric estimators of model parameters are obtained and their asymptotic characterizations are given. Finally, these two models are applied to a real-life data set and they are compared to some referent INAR(1) models.  相似文献

We introduce a new distribution, namely Marshall–Olkin Fréchet distribution. The probability density and hazard rate functions are derived and their shape properties are considered. Expressions for the nth moments are given. Various results with respect to quantiles, Rényi entropy and order statistics are obtained. The unknown parameters of the new distribution are estimated using the maximum likelihood estimation method adopting three different iterative procedures. The model is applied on a real data set on survival times.

This paper’s objective has been an analysis of the sustainable development of Croatia’s maritime tourism. In order to define the main characteristics and determinants of the maritime tourism, a model of growth has been used. The evaluation and analysis of the relevant variables and the resulting growth rates have been aimed at a scientific formulation of the results of the sustainable development analysis of the maritime tourism in the Republic of Croatia. Combinations of a number of scientific methods have been used, among which the most relevant are statistical and mathematical methods, method of model drawing, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction. The basic hypothesis has been confirmed through the direct growth rates of the chosen model variables. It has been confirmed that, based on scientific insights into the sustainable development of the maritime tourism, it is possible to suggest a new model of its sustainable development in Croatia for the period 2007–2015.   相似文献

In this article, it is shown how 128-bit SSE2 multimedia extension registers, present in Pentium IV class 32-bit processors, may be used to generate random numbers at several times greater speed then when regular general purpose registers are used. In particular, a 128-bit algorithm is presented for the Marsaglia MWC1616 generator from the DIEHARD battery of random number generator tests, and its performance is compared to that of the conventional approach.  相似文献
