We use peer assessments as a tool to allocate joint profits in a real-effort team experiment. We find that using this incentive mechanism reduces team performance. More specifically, we show that teams composed of acquaintances rather than strangers actually underperform in a context of peer evaluations. We conjecture that peer evaluations undermine the inherently high level of intrinsic motivation that characterizes teams composed of friends and possibly exacerbate negative reciprocity among partners. Finally, we analyze the determinants of peer assessments and stress the crucial importance of equality concerns.  相似文献

What is the long‐term effect of the emerging predominance of the dual‐earner family? This study uses data from 3 national household panel surveys—the British Household Panel Survey (N= 16,044), the German Socioeconomic Panel (N= 14,164), and the U.S. Panel Study of Income Dynamics (N = 7,423)—which provide, for the first time, clear and direct longitudinal evidence of change in the balance of domestic labor within couples: evidence that women make large adjustments in their domestic work time immediately upon entering full‐time paid work and that men exhibit a less obvious pattern of lagged adaptation, showing larger increases in domestic work in successive years.  相似文献

In the context of Multiple criteria decision analysis, we present the necessary and sufficient conditions allowing to represent an ordinal preferential information provided by the decision maker by a Choquet integral w.r.t a 2-additive capacity. We provide also a characterization of this type of preferential information by a belief function which can be viewed as a capacity. These characterizations are based on three axioms, namely strict cycle-free preferences and some monotonicity conditions called MOPI and 2-MOPI.  相似文献

We propose a robust rank-based estimation and variable selection in double generalized linear models when the number of parameters diverges with the sample size. The consistency of the variable selection procedure and asymptotic properties of the resulting estimators are established under appropriate selection of tuning parameters. Simulations are performed to assess the finite sample performance of the proposed estimation and variable selection procedure. In the presence of gross outliers, the proposed method is showing that the variable selection method works better. For practical application, a real data application is provided using nutritional epidemiology data, in which we explore the relationship between plasma beta-carotene levels and personal characteristics (e.g. age, gender, fat, etc.) as well as dietary factors (e.g. smoking status, intake of cholesterol, etc.).  相似文献
