The purpose of this paper is to review briefly the three main formulations of no Interaction hypotheses in contingency tables and to consider the formulation on a linear scale in some detail.More specifically we (i) present a situation in 2×2 tables where such a formulation may be more appropriate than others, (ii) study the geometry for this problem, (iii) give contrast-type or parametric ANOVA type formulations in the general n-dimensional tables, (iv) discuss estimation and testing procedures and (v) consider collapsibility of contingency tables in relation to the hypotheses of no interaction on a linear scale. 相似文献

The use of a Puerto Rican poem in ego-supportive work with a sixteen-year-old adolescent is described. His positive response to reading poetry of his own people indicated that his ethnic identity, a core element of ego identity, was validated by the experience. Neurodiversity and neurological disabilities reflect rising public sector challenges. Both refer to the same set of medical conditions, but speak to different aspects of diversity affecting the public sector. Neurodiversity describes features of neurological difference associated with individual or community identity that is a more or less elective choice of those experiencing neurological difference. Neurological disability refers to impairment of socially determined major life functions caused by observable, diagnosable difference in an individual's brain. Both neurodiversity and neurological disability produce challenges and opportunities for public programs and societies. This article employs findings from a survey of families with children with autism to examine administrative implications of neurodiversity and neurological disability. The findings suggest that in managing new (and rising) kinds of diversity, public administrators must navigate sharpening divides between interests related to inclusion and those related to identity. 相似文献

Overweight and obesity are known risk factors for several modifiable, if not preventable diseases. Growing evidence suggests that lesbians may have higher rates of obesity than other women. This study was designed to describe weight loss and behavior changes related to food choices and exercise habits among lesbians who participated in a predominantly lesbian, mainstream, commercial weight loss program. Behavioral changes were recorded in exercise, quality of food choices, and number of times dining out. Although there were several limitations based on sample size and heterogeneity, the impact of a lesbian-supportive environment for behavior change was upheld. 相似文献
