conclusion As implied through the issues presented herein, firms must carefully align the value proposition of the IT function with that
of the organization. We suggest that firms will increasingly migrate towards strategies and modes of operation that support
the cus-tomization of products and services on a mass scale. A key ingredient in accomplish-ing this objective is the creation
of an IT function that can deliver systems and technologies that are customized yet modular. Delivery of such systems depends
largely on the adoption of processes and development of personnel who can rapidly adapt and configure IT to changes in business
conditions. Failure to deliver these systems can result in unrealized corporate objectives and, in some cases, strategic drift. 相似文献

The rapid transformation of the U.S. business environment has radically changed the character of organizations where unions
seek to represent workers. Many of the structural elements that have provided critical support to union representation in
collective bargaining have been significantly altered, or lost altogether. We have argued that information technologies have
been a pivotal force of change in business organizations and have identified a set of key structural elements of these transformed
organizations. It is our belief that while the new organization creates significant challenges for private sector unions,
it also creates an opportunity for unions to develop new roles and new opportunities to prosper in the next millennium. 相似文献

This comment extends the test-retest reliability of the end-user computing satisfaction (EUCS) instrument by Torkzadeh and Doll [10]. Whereas Torkzadeh and Doll [10] reportedstability for two hour and two week EUCS test-retest reliability, we investigate the test-retest reliability of the EUCS instrument at two points in time, separated by a two yearinterval. We assess the end user computing satisfaction of personal computer, as well as mainframe, administrative end users in a large public organization. The results of the repeated test-retest using differing application platforms add further support for the reliability of the EUCS measure and highlight some areas of concern for managers of information systems. 相似文献
