The development and shaping of a general scale to assess client/patient satisfaction is reported. The scale, the CSQ, was constructed empirically by the authors. The CSQ is a response to several problems and issues that currently cloud the measurement of consumer satisfaction in health and human service systems. These problems and issues in assessing satisfaction are described. Finally, we present practical expriences to date in using the CSQ along with general psychometric qualities of the scale and correlations of CSQ results with client characteristics, service utilization, and service outcomes.  相似文献

Our paper proposes a methodological strategy to select optimal sampling designs for phenotyping studies including a cocktail of drugs. A cocktail approach is of high interest to determine the simultaneous activity of enzymes responsible for drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, therefore useful in anticipating drug–drug interactions and in personalized medicine. Phenotyping indexes, which are area under the concentration‐time curves, can be derived from a few samples using nonlinear mixed effect models and maximum a posteriori estimation. Because of clinical constraints in phenotyping studies, the number of samples that can be collected in individuals is limited and the sampling times must be as flexible as possible. Therefore to optimize joint design for several drugs (i.e., to determine a compromise between informative times that best characterize each drug's kinetics), we proposed to use a compound optimality criterion based on the expected population Fisher information matrix in nonlinear mixed effect models. This criterion allows weighting different models, which might be useful to take into account the importance accorded to each target in a phenotyping test. We also computed windows around the optimal times based on recursive random sampling and Monte‐Carlo simulation while maintaining a reasonable level of efficiency for parameter estimation. We illustrated this strategy for two drugs often included in phenotyping cocktails, midazolam (probe for CYP3A) and digoxin (P‐glycoprotein), based on the data of a previous study, and were able to find a sparse and flexible design. The obtained design was evaluated by clinical trial simulations and shown to be efficient for the estimation of population and individual parameters. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Polygonal distributions are a class of distributions that can be defined via the mixture of triangular distributions over the unit interval. We demonstrate that the densities of polygonal distributions are dense in the class of continuous and concave densities with bounded second derivatives. Furthermore, we prove that polygonal density functions provide O(g? 2) approximations (where g is the number of triangular distribution components), in the supremum distance, to any density function from the hypothesized class. Parametric consistency and Hellinger consistency results for the maximum likelihood (ML) estimator are obtained. A result regarding model selection via penalized ML estimation is proved.  相似文献

Maximum pseudolikelihood (MPL) estimators are useful alternatives to maximum likelihood (ML) estimators when likelihood functions are more difficult to manipulate than their marginal and conditional components. Furthermore, MPL estimators subsume a large number of estimation techniques including ML estimators, maximum composite marginal likelihood estimators, and maximum pairwise likelihood estimators. When considering only the estimation of discrete models (on a possibly countably infinite support), we show that a simple finiteness assumption on an entropy-based measure is sufficient for assessing the consistency of the MPL estimator. As a consequence, we demonstrate that the MPL estimator of any discrete model on a bounded support will be consistent. Our result is valid in parametric, semiparametric, and nonparametric settings.  相似文献

Joint models for longitudinal and time-to-event data have been applied in many different fields of statistics and clinical studies. However, the main difficulty these models have to face with is the computational problem. The requirement for numerical integration becomes severe when the dimension of random effects increases. In this paper, a modified two-stage approach has been proposed to estimate the parameters in joint models. In particular, in the first stage, the linear mixed-effects models and best linear unbiased predictorsare applied to estimate parameters in the longitudinal submodel. In the second stage, an approximation of the fully joint log-likelihood is proposed using the estimated the values of these parameters from the longitudinal submodel. Survival parameters are estimated bymaximizing the approximation of the fully joint log-likelihood. Simulation studies show that the approach performs well, especially when the dimension of random effects increases. Finally, we implement this approach on AIDS data.  相似文献

Given a dataset an outlier can be defined as an observation that does not follow the statistical properties of the majority of the data. Computation of the location estimate is of fundamental importance in data analysis, and it is well known in statistics that classical methods, such as taking the sample average, can be greatly affected by the presence of outliers in the data. Using the median instead of the mean can partially resolve this issue but not completely. For the univariate case, a robust version of the median is the Least Trimmed Absolute Deviation (LTAD) robust estimator introduced in Tableman (Stat Probab Lett 19(5):387–398, 1994), which has desirable asymptotic properties such as robustness, consistently, high breakdown and normality. There are different generalizations of the LTAD for multivariate data, depending on the choice of norm. Chatzinakos et al. (J Comb Optim, 2015) we present such a generalization using the Euclidean norm and propose a solution technique for the resulting combinatorial optimization problem, based on a necessary condition, that results in a highly convergent local search algorithm. In this subsequent work, we use the \(L^1\) norm to generalize the LTAD to higher dimensions, and show that the resulting mixed integer programming problem has an integral relaxation, after applying an appropriate data transformation. Moreover, we utilize the structure of the problem to show that the resulting LP’s can be solved efficiently using a subgradient optimization approach. The robust statistical properties of the proposed estimator are verified by extensive computational results.  相似文献

This paper examines task, relationship, and overload stress orientations of people in the high-context cultures of Russia and in the low-context cultures of Germany based on their government work experience. A Two-way ANOVA methodology is used for hypotheses testing in this research. As a result of the comparative, cross-national analysis of 462 responses, some significant differences were found between the two samples. Russians have higher scores on task and relationship orientations than German respondents. There is a marginally significant difference in the task scores between respondents who have government experience and those who do not. Respondents who have government experience are more task-oriented and experience more stress than those who do not have government experience. Finding reveals significant interaction between government experience and country in the task scores. Literature on German and Russian cultures is presented along with practical applications, suggestions, and implications for future studies.  相似文献

Consider two phylogenetic networks and ’ of size n. The tripartition-based distance finds the proportion of tripartitions which are not shared by and ’. This distance is proposed by Moret et al. (2004) and is a generalization of Robinson-Foulds distance, which is orginally used to compare two phylogenetic trees. This paper gives an -time algorithm to compute this distance, where h is the number of hybrid nodes in and ’ while k is the maximum number of hybrid nodes among all biconnected components in and ’. Note that $k \ll h \ll n$ in a phylogenetic network. In addition, we propose algorithms for comparing galled-trees, which are an important, biological meaningful special case of phylogenetic network. We give an $O(n)$-time algorithm for comparing two galled-trees. We also give an -time algorithm for comparing a galled-tree with another general network, where h and k are the number of hybrid nodes in the latter network and its biggest biconnected component respectively.  相似文献
