西方歌剧Leitmotif(主题)技巧的起源与发展

Leitmotif被广泛地运用在西方歌剧中并起着非常重要的作用。本文论述了leitmotif的起源与发展。早期Leitmotif它的特征是反复出现但是变化不多。后来韦伯发展了这一技巧。他不仅在leitmotif再现时增加了和声和节奏上的变化,而且还用leitmotif将歌剧各幕之间联系起来,起到了贯穿的作用。德国作曲家瓦格纳将leitmotif技巧的运用提到了最高的水平。瓦格纳创造性地将多个leitmotif交织在一起运用,形成一个大的音乐网。并用此网从始至终与剧情紧密配合,使其成为作品必不可少的主体。从而打破了歌剧原有的固定型式,为歌剧的发展写下了重要的一页。     

The discovery of participatory research as a new scientific paradigm: Personal and intellectual accounts

The article presents considerations for the placing of participatory research in the practice of sociology. The changing conditions in contemporary society have compelled social scientists to rethink the way social theory has been conceptualized and has been practiced in relation to social change. Modernist social theory, of which sociology is a prime example, has been imbued with the biases of the Enlightenment that privilege the essentialized male rational actor set above the ordinary people. As a consequence it has produced narratives and practices that are not in the interest of the people, especially those who have been dominated and oppressed. In order to live up to the potential of sociology as a vehicle for the improvement of social conditions, it must include the interest and the wisdom of the people in its researching and theorizing activities. It is argued that participatory research provides an opportunity to follow this course in sociology. Participatory research, it is contended, will lead to a paradigm shift in the social sciences because it is based on an expanded conception of knowledge and because it changes the relationship between the researcher and the researched and between theory and practice. Arguments are drawn from the history of science, critical theory, and postmodernist and feminist critiques. Peter Park is currently on the faculty of the Fielding Institute.     

刘崇远及其著作考略

刘崇远系出河南刘氏,黄巢乱中南迁,仕吴及南唐,历上饶、晋陵二县县令,中主保大中官大理司直。相传其所著《耳目记》一书,乃後唐人所作,非刘崇远作。其著作今存《金华子杂编》,但传本并非原书之残本,而是後人辑本,尚有较多佚文可辑。     

大学主体性的失落与建立现代大学制度

大学主体性的失落是当前大学危机的根源所在,其深层的本质在于学术自由精神的丧失。面对当前大学的危机与困境,学术自由应突破外部的社会限制和内部大学主体自身的限制,应以大学学术自由的理想为指针,结合大学的实际情况,积极构建具有我国特色的现代大学制度。     

当代印度南部婆罗门状况的个案分析——以奈保尔《印度:百万叛变的今天》为例

当代印度社会正发生着极大的变动,社会各阶层都在极力维护固有地位和宗教传统的稳定,并极力在这种变动中争取着自身社会利益的最大化。其中,南印度婆罗门种姓在逐步丧失传统的各项特权和优势地位的同时,也在努力适应、应对当代社会的新变化和新挑战。英国作家V.S.奈保尔的《印度:百万叛变的今天》一书提供了较为翔实、客观的口述史资料。以书中生活在孟买、班加罗尔、马德拉斯、加尔各达等南印度城市中的当代婆罗门阶层作为个案,可探究出其面对传统社会生活中的各个层面发生变动时的态度与应对及个体内在的深层原因,并在一定程度上考察社会变动与文化传统之间的互动关系。     

Optimal lot sizing under continuous price decrease

An important characteristic of high-tech industries is decreasing component prices over time. In the personal computer industry, some component prices decline at a rate of 1% per week. This paper develops an inventory model for products experiencing continuous decrease in unit price. We develop an accurate closed-form approximate solution to the model. Our results indicate that declining prices lead to substantial decrease in the optimal cycle time and much frequent ordering. This explains the heavy emphasis on just-in-time inventory management practiced by successful companies in high-tech industries. While previous models attributed the success of just-in-time policies to reduced holding cost and improved quality, under declining prices a substantial source of savings becomes lower costs of raw materials which is significant part of cost in these industries. We illustrate the results of the model with a numerical example and perform sensitivity analysis.     

On calculating the fisher information in order statistics

This article gives a simple result for the expression of the Fisher information in order statistics. This result enables us to calculate easily the Fisher information in any set of order statistics whose details have been known to be messy and complicated. We consider here its application in the optimal spacing problem where the exact Fisher information in order statistics has been approximated with the asymptotic information or the reciprocal of the variance of a suitable estimator. 心理契约在企业管理中的应用

在企业和员工之间,除了正式的、显性的聘任契约外,还存在着隐含的、非正式的、未公开说明的心理契约。面对许多行业引入市场机制后所带来的改制、竞争等严峻形势,存在于组织和组织成员之间的这种心理契约关系对激发和调动员工的积极性,增强组织凝聚力,实现组织成员的个人目标与组织目标的有机统一,保证企业快速、健康和高效的发展,必将起到积极的推动作用。     

现代性的反叛与理论社会学的前景

现代性又一次显示了自己的永新特征:它不断脱出既有的形貌,日益变得轻盈、灵巧、液化、流变,它的经验结果也更为不确定和难以预料。这造成了现代叙事和想像的“衰败”,也使社会学的批判和反思走向亢奋。然而,在西方社会学“新三圣”的现代性理论中,激进具象下隐匿的深沉困惑和焦虑表明,这无以挽回旧式现代性的总体颓落之势。与此同时,现代性在中国正面对着一种新生。“社会互构”理论指出了新型现代性的大趋势,即以人为本而不是以资本为本的实践选择,正在促使资本从目的性意义向手段性位置回归。这一理论还阐释了,通过多元社会主体的“互构谐变”,推进社会沟通、对话、协商以及论坛和听证的制度化,实现我们对于和谐社会的共同期待。正是这一来自实践的理路,使理论社会学拥有了一个赢得未来的起点。
