This study investigates the social impact investment behavior of private investors in a nonprofit setting. In particular, the influences of three effects—financial return, social impact, and age—on social impact investment behavior are tested in an online survey experiment. The study sample includes bank clients (N = 145) from Germany’s first and largest bank exclusively focused on social and ecological investments. The results with regard to the financial return effects are in line with for-profit research that social impact investors are willing to accept 1% lower financial returns. In addition, younger philanthropists are more likely to contribute part of their money to social impact investments. Further findings reveal that the perceived innovativeness of the project has a consistently positive effect on social impact investment behavior. People with certain profile characteristics (e.g., entrepreneurial spirits) also are more likely to participate in social impact investments. 相似文献

Consulting for entrepreneurs is an ambitious and multidimensional consulting business. Beside formal operations and guidelines, this consulting should be the focus of collaboration and learning processes in groups and teams, which is necessary for integration into the consulting process. What happens in the face-to-face interaction in these entrepreneur groups and teams? What do they negotiate and solve on the interactional level to increase their chances of success? The authors describe video interaction analysis as an optional relevant practice for consulting entrepreneurs. The effects of having a child with asthma on the employment status and the continuity of full-time employment of mothers were
investigated using data from the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey. Mothers who had a child with asthma were less likely to
be employed full-time or part-time, and if single, they were less likely to retain their full-time jobs than other mothers.
The effects of having a child with asthma depended on the marital status of the mother and the well-being of the child. Employment
behaviors of single mothers were affected more than those of married mothers. The bed days of children reduced the prevalence

Despite substantial differences in labour market attainment according to gender and migration status, gender and ethnic differences in labour market behaviour are most often studied separately. In contrast, this study describes and analyses interactions between gender, ethnic background and immigrant generation with regard to labour market participation, part-time work, and occupational status. The double comparison aims to reveal whether gender gaps in these labour market outcomes among the majority population generalise to ethnic minorities. Moreover, we ask whether variation in gender gaps in labour market behaviour follows the patterns in migrants’ origin countries, and whether gender gaps show signs of intergenerational assimilation. Our heterogeneous choice and OLS regressions of 2009 German Microcensus data reveal considerable variation in gender gaps in labour market behaviour between East and West Germany, across ethnic groups and across generations. Intergenerational comparisons show that most ethnic minorities assimilate towards German patterns of gendered labour market attainment. 相似文献

We consider the test based on theL 1-version of the Cramér-von Mises statistic for the nonparametric two-sample problem. Some quantiles of the exact distribution under H0 of the test statistic are computed for small sample sizes. We compare the test in terms of power against general alternatives to other two-sample tests, namely the Wilcoxon rank sum test, the Smirnov test and the Cramér-von Mises test in the case of unbalanced small sample sizes. The computation of the power is rather complicated when the sample sizes are unequal. Using Monte Carlo power estimates it turns out that the Smirnov test is more sensitive to non stochastically ordered alternatives than the new test. And under location-contamination alternatives the power estimates of the new test and of the competing tests are equal. 相似文献

We propose generalized linear models for time or age-time tables of seasonal counts, with the goal of better understanding seasonal patterns in the data. The linear predictor contains a smooth component for the trend and the product of a smooth component (the modulation) and a periodic time series of arbitrary shape (the carrier wave). To model rates, a population offset is added. Two-dimensional trends and modulation are estimated using a tensor product B-spline basis of moderate dimension. Further smoothness is ensured using difference penalties on the rows and columns of the tensor product coefficients. The optimal penalty tuning parameters are chosen based on minimization of a quasi-information criterion. Computationally efficient estimation is achieved using array regression techniques, avoiding excessively large matrices. The model is applied to female death rate in the US due to cerebrovascular diseases and respiratory diseases. 相似文献

Despite the increasing prevalence of nonparental child care, many parents in the United States care exclusively for their
young children, even when both parents work. We examine reasons for non-consumption of child care by estimating double-hurdle,
tobit and dominance models of the demand for nonrelative child care. Our results indicate that parents' decision whether to
use any nonrelative child care is guided by different considerations than the decision of how much care to use. Furthermore,
our findings are consistent with the hypothesis that some parents are not interested in nonrelative care, regardless of its
price or nonmaternal income.

Objectives. This article examines whether families with white mothers make different child care decisions for sons than for daughters before the children start school. Methods. We estimate logistic regressions of the use of nonrelative child care for the youngest child in the family six years old or younger with data from the 1990 National Child Care Survey. Results. We find that girls are significantly more likely than boys to be in regular, nonrelative care when they are between three and six years old. Conclusions. Recent evidence from the United States indicates that child gender influences various aspects of family dynamics. These differences tend to put boys at an advantage. Our findings add to this literature by showing that child care decisions are also related to child gender. Gender differences in the use of child care may reflect appropriate responses to children's developmental needs. However, they may contribute to gender differences in children's well‐being. 相似文献

The place of work is a class in a school in the multiethnic district in Paris. The film shows that the school is the hub between the family and society that paves the way for young people to enter the culture. Teachers are transitional objects between the bonds in the family and the outward orientation on which the pupils can project their ambivalent feelings from love to hate. The teacher “Monsieur Marin” resonates with these feelings and does not conceal his own. If it is possible to flexibly handle the resistances in the form of infantile dependency, inadequate combat/flight behavior, and disturbing paired formation, the class gains strength and is capable of working. If integration of other ethnic groups is to be achieved by appreciating the new home without denying its own origin, then a class like this is the best place for it. 相似文献
