This paper analyzes if the industrial policy framework of the Indian Government with regard to the proliferation of SEZs has satisfied its aims and objectives. The analysis however, shows otherwise. The empirical results show that the policy of the Indian Government has been lopsided, wherein the concentration of SEZs has increased in States which face lower levels of unemployment and a comparably high level of FDI inflow. Further, the concentration of the SEZs has been restricted majorly to the IT industry resulting in rigidity in the export mix. Policy implications hint towards a diversification of the SEZ industry portfolio and in increasing the size and therefore, the economic impact of these zones.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the problem of deriving the C-F-R (CRAMER-FRECHET-RAO) bound for the variance of an unbiased estimator of the translation para¬meter for a class of distributions having as support an interval of fixed length. Starting with the general form of the O-F-R, inequality studied earlier by VINCZE (1979) for mixed

densities, we prove some inequalities related to the information quantity occurring in the C-F-R bound. The case when the variance of the unbiased estimator does not depend upon the translation parameter is investigated. The case when the variance depends upon the translation parameter is also briefly discussed. Finally some remarks will be given

In this paper, aligned rank statistics are considered for testing hypotheses regarding the location in repeated measurement designs, where the design matrix for each set of measurements is orthonormal. Such a design may, for instance, be used when testing for linearity. It turns out that the centered design matrix is not of full rank, and therefore it does not quite satisfy the usual conditions in the literature. The number of degrees of freedom of the limiting chi-square distribution of the test statistic under the null hypothesis, however, is not affected, unless rather special hypotheses are tested. An independent derivation of this limiting distribution is given, using the Chernoff–Savage approach. In passing, it is observed that independence of the choice of aligner, which in the location problem is well-known to be due to cancellation, may in scale problems occur as a result of the type of score function suitable for scale tests. A possible extension to multivariate data is briefly indicated.  相似文献

efficiency balanced (£R) and partially efficiency balanced (PEB) designs were studied hy Calinski (1971) and Puri and Higam (1971, 1977a). In tais paper we have studied the dual desinas of two classes of PEB designs. It is shown that the dual of any symmetrical PCS design with HN'=N'H is again a PEB design. Also the dual of a PEB(S) with μ1 = 0 μ2 = 0and is shown to the again a PEB(S). The relations between PEB designs and linked and partially linked blocks have heen established. As a conseguence, the analysis of linked Mock and partially linkei block designs can he sinrlififid. Sore useful classes of supplencntcd block designs having simple analysis have also been discussed.  相似文献

Summary In this paper, we summarize some recent developments in the analysis of nonparametric models where the classical models of ANOVA are generalized in such a way that not only the assumption of normality is relaxed but also the structure of the designs is introduced in a broader framework and also the concept of treatment effects is redefined. The continuity of the distribution functions is not assumed so that not only data from continuous distributions but also data with ties are included in this general setup. In designs with independent observations as well as in repeated measures designs, the hypotheses are formulated by means of the distribution functions. The main results are given in a unified form. Some applications to special designs are considered, where in simple designs, some well known statistics (such as the Kruskal-Wallis statistic and the χ2-statistic for dichotomous data) come out as special cases. The general framework presented here enables the nonparametric analysis of data with continuous distribution functions as well as arbitrary discrete data such as count data, ordered categorical and dichotomous data. We are concerned with estimators which improve upon the best invariant estimator, in estimating a location parameter θ. If the loss function is L(θ - a) with L convex, we give sufficient conditions for the inadmissibility of δ0(X) = X. If the loss is a weighted sum of squared errors, we find various classes of estimators δ which are better than δ0. In general, δ is the convolution of δ1 (an estimator which improves upon δ0 outside of a compact set) with a suitable probability density in Rp. The critical dimension of inadmissibility depends on the estimator δ1 We also give several examples of estimators δ obtained in this way and state some open problems.  相似文献

In this note we provide sufficient conditions for the minimaxity of linear estimators of the form aX+b in the one-parameter exponential family for estimating a differentiable function g(θ) with normalized quadratic loss. Partially Efficiency-Balanced (PEB) designs were introduced by Puri and Nigam $year:1977. These designs may be particularly useful for bio-assays and factorial experiments and have a very simple analysis. In the present paper, we give several new systematic procedures of constructing PEB designs with varying replications. A number of practical series of PEB designs are presented. We shall also pre- sent the methods of analysing these designs produced here.  相似文献
