The possibilities of service delivery have expanded vastly over the last years, mainly due to the rapid development of information and communication technologies. Modern forms of data transmission enable a technologically mediated delivery of a broad spectrum of services over great distances. These ??remote services?? gain more and more importance in business, yet have only attracted little attention in academic research so far. This overview article captures the state-of-the-art of research in this field and starts laying the groundwork for a thorough discussion of economically relevant aspects of remote services. Whereas most retail industries are characterized by a great diversity of competitive retail formats, the automotive industry largely relies on one single retail format, the authorized car dealer. However, both automobile manufacturers and car dealers are trying to expand sales activities for automobiles by implementing new and innovative retail formats. A focal point raised within this context is the question about (potential) customers?? expectations regarding retail formats in the automotive industry. To be able to analyze these expectations, eleven attributes which are specific to automotive retail formats have been derived from a literature overview. The resulting taxonomy of attributes has then been used to systematically identify current and future retail formats in this particular industry. Using an hierarchical adaptive conjoint analysis model, the attributes describing different automotive retail formats have being extensively analyzed. By developing this specific conjoint analysis model, it is possible to both analyze single attributes and entire retail formats regarding their impact on the automotive market as well as particular market segments. 相似文献

As a specific type of counselling, which focuses on the individual and his/her personality within the professional context, coaching has to strike constantly a balance between looking at the ?whole person“ and looking at one facet of this person, i.e. his/her professional role. This leads to ambivalent attitudes towards coaching from the client’s point of view, which should be discussed and turned into beneficial factors during the coaching process. What role do national institutions of labor regulation as well as work and employment systems at the company level play for the development of “new economy” industries? The article is based on eleven company case studies in the Swedish, Polish and German video game industry as well as on an analysis of industry-related expert interviews and data. Power relations between hardware, publishing and development companies play a significant role in the industry. Independent development firms are the weakest link in the value chain; they have to carry the greatest risks. The results show that the lack of a financial system for the high risky software development is a decisive factor for the low international competitiveness of the industry in all three countries. They demonstrate as well that, especially in the field of labor regulation, the “Varieties of Capitalism”-approach underestimates the divergence of industries in national economies and a leeway for flexibility in institutional systems. For instance, employment flexibility of video game development firms is very high. The comparison of the “coordinated market economies” of Germany and Sweden reveals differences regarding the integration of the industry into nation-specific institutional systems, such as the establishment of adequate vocational education and interest representation by unions. 相似文献

Real impostors are people who obtain their academic degrees by fraud. On the contrary, the qualifications of those who suffer from the impostor syndrome are authentic and legally acquired. Nevertheless, they feel they are not worthy of their certificates and are afraid their feeling of inferiority will be “exposed”. After a summary of psychological findings, it is explained by means of different aspects to what extent the impostor syndrome thrives at higher education institutions and why many (female) academics feel like impostors.
