和谐社会人权保障的核心理念、现实基础与价值基点

社会主义和谐社会是以人权的有效保障为基本特征的社会。“以人为本”是和谐社会人权保障的核心理念，必须以人为出发点，依托人的主体性，以人为目的。改善民生是和谐社会人权保障的现实基础，必须在经济发展的基础上，更加注重社会建设，着力保障和改善民生。公平正义是和谐社会人权保障的价值基点，必须在促进发展的同时，把促进社会公平正义放到更加突出的位置，加强制度建设，使全体人民共享改革发展的成果。     

国际大都市城市交通体系建设管理研究

本文以广州国际友好城市洛杉矾、温哥华和悉尼为例，探讨其城市公共交通发展的管理现状，并归纳出这些城市公共交通体系建设的特点和经验。同时，本文分析了广州公共交通体系建设管理现状及其面临的问题，提出了广州借鉴国际友好城市先进经验的对策建议。     

Remain,Return, or Re-migrate? The (Im)mobility Trajectory of Mainland Chinese Students after Completing Their Education in the UK

The migration of Chinese students to the UK has long been the focus of academic and policy-making attention. However, what happens to their transnational mobility after their education remains understudied. This article unpacks the migration decision-making process behind graduates' study-to-employment transition. We focus on individuals' on-going reinterpretation of capital convertibility between China and the UK and examine how the meaning of mobility changes in time and in the transnational socio-economic environment. In so doing, we draw on in-depth interviews with graduates who have remained in the UK, as well as with returnees. Our findings reveal our participants' periodic uncertainty about professional opportunities and attendant mobility choices in the context of fast-paced socio-economic change in China and in the UK. The article thus calls for a more supportive post-study work policy environment for international students in the UK, especially in the context of uncertainty about Brexit.     

契合与冲突:美国基督教福音派的全球扩展与全球公民社会

全球遍传福音向为基督教福音派之志,自20世纪50年代以来,美国墓督教福音派逐渐取代主流教会,成为世界传教运动的领头羊.其全球扩展一方面有利于全球公民社会的发展与巩固,但又在一定程度上成为全球公民社会发展的障碍.本文旨在厘清基督教福音派与全球公民社会巩固与发展之间的内在契合与冲突.     

东天山风景区居民对生态旅游的认知研究

文章探讨了发展新疆哈密农牧业旅游对构建哈密乡村生态的影响，指出每个家庭都能较深入地参与到生态农牧业旅游发展的过程当中将有助于当地居民具备较高的生态意识．这也正是确保生态农牧业旅游经济可持续发展的社会文化要素之一。     

Recalling sexual behavior: A methodological analysis of memory recall bias via interview using the diary as the gold standard

This study examined the effect of time lag on the validity of retrospective self‐reports of sexual behavior. Seventy‐five heterosexual students (44 women, 31 men) made daily recordings of sexual behavior, condom use, and alcohol or substance use for 1 month. Ability of respondents to recall sexual behavior recorded during this period was assessed at 1, 2, and 3 months after diary completion using recall interviews (25 interviewed at each interval). For vaginal intercourse, total recall error was significantly greater at 3 months than at 1 month post‐diary. For all other variables assessed, the 2‐ and 3‐month time intervals did not produce significant increases in total recall error. Higher frequency of vaginal intercourse, orgasm, and alcohol use prior to sexual activity were associated with total recall error for some but not all behaviors and outcomes. The results provide a partial validation of the diary‐interview recall model as a method for studying recall error.     

The changing configurations of self-(m)other dialogue in North Cyprus

This paper deals with issues of identity, nationalism, postcolonialism, and self-other relations with a focus on a period of transformative events in North Cyprus. It notes how nationalism has been the dominant means of identification for Cypriots in their modern history, and argues that unless weakened and supplanted by a radically pluralist democracy, nationalism imagines one's identity as an indivisible unity and has no place for different others within the nation. However, a pressing relationship with others and otherness is no stranger to Cypriots either, which makes it clear that the border that defines the ‘we’ of such nationalism is, at the same time, the line that divides the self intrinsically, indicating the otherness of the self or its alterity. Subjectivity involves subjection to the other.     

Addressing gender discrimination in Vietnam's light manufacturing industry: What role for labor law?

This paper explores women workers’ experiences of gender discrimination at work in Vietnam and whether labor law might enable them to challenge discriminatory practices. Interviews with workers reveal how discrimination is generated and entrenched through seemingly neutral workplace rules and culture. The coercive and intensive nature of assembly work has deterred or prevented working mothers from enjoying fair and decent work. Survey findings on female workers’ mobilization of the law suggest that women who have experienced discrimination in the past are less inclined to choose a legal means when faced with future discrimination. In most cases, women would choose not to take any action or opt for a non-legal means to raise their voices. In conclusion, even though women workers in general do not consider law a potential tool to tackle discrimination, they have absorbed and appropriated the language of the law to make sense of unfair practices at work.
