In this study, an attempt has been made to improve the sampling strategy incorporating spatial dependency at estimation stage considering usual aerial sampling scheme, such as simple random sampling, when the underlying population is finite and spatial in nature. Using the distances between spatial units, an improved method of estimation, viz. spatial estimation procedure, has been proposed for the estimation of finite population mean. Further, rescaled spatial bootstrap (RSB) methods have been proposed for approximately unbiased estimation of variance of the proposed spatial estimator (SE). Optimal response-adaptive designs in Phase III clinical trial set up are becoming more and more current interest. In the present article, an optimal response-adaptive design is introduced for more than two treatments at hand. We minimize an objective function subject to more than one inequality constraints. For this purpose, we propose an extensive computer search algorithm. The proposed procedure is illustrated with extensive numerical computation and simulations. In this article, we find designs insensitive to the presence of an outlier in a diallel cross design setup for estimating a complete set of orthonormal contrasts among the effects of the general combining abilities of a set of parental lines. The criterion of robustness, suggested by Mandal (1989) in block design setup and used by Biswas (2012) in treatment-control setup, is adapted here. Complete diallel cross designs, suggested by Gupta and Kageyama (1994), and partial diallel cross designs, suggested by Gupta et al. (1995) and Mukerjee (1997), are found to be robust under certain conditions. 相似文献

A convex drawing of a plane graph G is a plane drawing of G, where each vertex is drawn as a point, each edge is drawn as a straight line segment and each face is drawn as a convex polygon. A maximal segment is a drawing of a maximal set of edges that form a straight line segment. A minimum-segment convex drawing of G is a convex drawing of G where the number of maximal segments is the minimum among all possible convex drawings of G. In this paper, we present a linear-time algorithm to obtain a minimum-segment convex drawing Γ of a 3-connected cubic plane graph G of n vertices, where the drawing is not a grid drawing. We also give a linear-time algorithm to obtain a convex grid drawing of G on an $(\frac{n}{2}+1)\times(\frac {n}{2}+1)$ grid with at most s n +1 maximal segments, where $s_{n}=\frac{n}{2}+3$ is the lower bound on the number of maximal segments in a convex drawing of G. 相似文献

The prominence or value has been particularly given on Chinese community of Bowbazar which is an enclave community. The study aims to elucidate that the immigrant groups adjust to the host society by persistent identity development especially by adjusting and adapting to altered or homogenize identity which is most supported along with the integration strategies. The study has been conducted on the basis of qualitative approach as well as quantitative approach. Responses from the community revealed, that the Chinese community of Bowbazar Chinatown through ages is not only able to adapt ideals, values, and behaviors of host culture but also able to retain their ideals, values and beliefs of their own cultures of origin. 相似文献

We consider a firm that procures an input commodity to produce an output commodity to sell to the end retailer. The retailer's demand for the output commodity is negatively correlated with the price of the output commodity. The firm can sell the output commodity to the retailer through a spot, forward or an index‐based contract. Input and output commodity prices are also correlated and follow a joint stochastic price process. The firm maximizes shareholder value by jointly determining optimal procurement and hedging policies. We show that partial hedging dominates both perfect hedging and no‐hedging when input price, output price, and demand are correlated. We characterize the optimal financial hedging and procurement policies as a function of the term structure of the commodity prices, the correlation between the input and output prices, and the firm's operating characteristics. In addition, our analysis illustrates that hedging is most beneficial when output price volatility is high and input price volatility is low. Our model is tested on futures price data for corn and ethanol from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. 相似文献

Despite its importance, there has been little attention in the modeling of time series data of categorical nature in the recent past. In this paper, we present a framework based on the Pegram's [An autoregressive model for multilag Markov chains. Journal of Applied Probabability 17, 350–362] operator that was originally proposed only to construct discrete AR(p) processes. We extend the Pegram's operator to accommodate categorical processes with ARMA representations. We observe that the concept of correlation is not always suitable for categorical data. As a sensible alternative, we use the concept of mutual information, and introduce auto-mutual information to define the time series process of categorical data. Some model selection and inferential aspects are also discussed. We implement the developed methodologies to analyze a time series data set on infant sleep status. 相似文献
