For systems with hidden or unrevealed failures, a common practice is to inspect the system regularly, since failures can only be detected upon inspection. Recent works in the literature have studied the availability of a system under periodic inspection, assuming perfect repair/replacement with non-negligible downtime due to repair/replacement for a detected failure. In some situations, however, not only downtime due to repair/replacement but also downtime due to inspection is non-negligible regardless whether a failure was detected or not. In this paper, we consider the availability of a system subject to hidden failure inspected at constant interval with both non-negligible downtime due to inspection and non-negligible downtime due to repair/replacement. 相似文献

In this paper, a research that deals with the problem of determining of the visibility of the alphanumeric presentation on CRT and LCD screens is presented, in conditions when the screen filters are used, and when they are not used. A methodology that can be used for determination of the visibility of alphanumeric symbols on VDT screens is presented. It is determined the existence of differences in visibility of alphanumeric presentations when screen filters are used, compared to conditions when they are not used. This difference was statistically significant, while the visibility of the presented alphanumeric symbols on CRT and LCD screens that use screen filters is lower than when they are not used. For this reason, the use of protective screen filter is recommended in circumstances where a very high level of glare exists, when the visual fatigue is common appearance and when a user performs a task that does not depend on the detection of stimuli whose RGB values are low. 相似文献

Project strategy is an emerging concept in the research literature on project management. Many authors suggest that such a strategy should be used by a project team as a guideline for effectively performing project activities. In this study, we explore how project strategy is used. We found that the project teams applied various forms of project strategy, namely, Product Superiority, Customer Intimacy, and Time-to-Market strategies. A combination of these strategies was also used. This study contributes to the literature in the area of strategic alignment and strategy implementation. It also helps practitioners better understand how to implement project strategy. 相似文献
