ABSTRACTNakagami distribution is one of the most common distributions used to model positive valued and right skewed data. In this study, we interest goodness of fit problem for Nakagami distribution. Thus, we propose smooth tests for Nakagami distribution based on orthonormal functions. We also compare these tests with some classical goodness of fit tests such as Cramer–von Mises, Anderson–Darling, and Kolmogorov–Smirnov tests in respect to type-I error rates and powers of tests. Simulation study indicates that smooth tests give better results than these classical tests give in respect to almost all cases considered. 相似文献

Best et al. (Best, D. J., Rayner, J. C. W., O'Sullivan, M. G. (2000). Product maps for consumer categorical data. Food Quality and Preference, 11:91–97) suggested tests based on partitioning the X2 statistic into relevant components of location, dispersion, and skewness effects for testing equality of each effect for ordinal preference data. It is known that the chi-square approximation requires large counts for categories. For this purpose, in this study, we investigate a permutation approach for these statistics and compare the performance of these tests with simulation study. In addition, the permutation approach can be used to produce a product map that classifies the products. We illustrate the approach with a real data example. 相似文献

In this study, we propose a new test based on a computational approach to test the equality of several log-normal means. We compare this test with some existing methods in terms of the type-I error rate and power using Monte Carlo simulations for varying values of number of groups and sample sizes. The simulation results indicate that the proposed test could be suggested as a good alternative for testing the equality of several log-normal means. 相似文献

By tracing the repetitive visual themes and motifs contained in depictions of Muslim female migrants, this study aims to shed light on the various ways the German print media have tackled the issue of migration and represented cultural difference. An analysis of such images suggests that there are three major categories through which female migrants in Germany are visualized: (1) images that focus on alienation and lack of interaction with Muslims; (2) images that focus on contrasting life styles in shared spaces; and (3) images that construct the traditional and the modern via the female body. In most instances these images are not used to provide information about the circumstances of Muslim female migrants in Germany, but rather to make a statement about Muslim migrants in general and underline their lack of integration into the host society. Different visual conventions are recurrently used in each of these categories, creating patterns in the representation of migration. This study explores the visual conventions recurrent in each category and the ways they stereotype Muslim female migrants in Germany. 相似文献

In this article, we proposed a new estimator namely, modified jackknifed generalized Liu-type estimator (MJGLE). It is based
on the criterion that it combines the ideas underlying both the generalized Liu estimator (GLE) and jackknifed generalized
Liu estimator (JGLE). The performance of this estimator (MJGLE) is compared to that of the GLE and the JGLE. The ideas in
the article are illustrated and evaluated using a real data example and simulations. 相似文献

The aim of the current study was to examine the psychometric properties of the Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Identity Scale (LGBIS; Mohr & Kendra, 2011) in a Turkish sample. Three hundred and ten LGB individuals participated and completed the Turkish version of the LGBIS (LGBIS-TR) along with the Satisfaction with Life, Positive and Negative Affect, and Self-Compassion Scales. Confirmatory factor analysis results yielded a good-fit for eight subscales of the LGBIS-TR. We also obtained satisfactory criterion validity and internal consistency reliability. Based on this initial study, the LGBIS-TR appears to be a psychometrically sound instrument to gauge LGB individuals’ identity experiences in Turkey. We discuss the results along with previous findings and limitations of the study, and we provide implications for further research and practice. 相似文献

This paper proposes a new test statistic based on the computational approach test (CAT) for one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) under heteroscedasticity. The proposed test was compared with other popular tests according to type I error and power of tests under different combinations of variances, means, number of groups and sample sizes. As a result, it was observed that the proposed test yields better results than other tests in many cases. 相似文献
