The work proposes a new family of survival models called the Odd log-logistic generalized Neyman type A long-term. We consider different activation schemes in which the number of factors M has the Neyman type A distribution and the time of occurrence of an event follows the odd log-logistic generalized family. The parameters are estimated by the classical and Bayesian methods. We investigate the mean estimates, biases, and root mean square errors in different activation schemes using Monte Carlo simulations. The residual analysis via the frequentist approach is used to verify the model assumptions. We illustrate the applicability of the proposed model for patients with gastric adenocarcinoma. The choice of the adenocarcinoma data is because the disease is responsible for most cases of stomach tumors. The estimated cured proportion of patients under chemoradiotherapy is higher compared to patients undergoing only surgery. The estimated hazard function for the chemoradiotherapy level tends to decrease when the time increases. More information about the data is addressed in the application section.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

We propose a new semiparametric Weibull cure rate model for fitting nonlinear effects of explanatory variables on the mean, scale and cure rate parameters. The regression model is based on the generalized additive models for location, scale and shape, for which any or all distribution parameters can be modeled as parametric linear and/or nonparametric smooth functions of explanatory variables. We present methods to select additive terms, model estimation and validation, where all computational codes are presented in a simple way such that any R user can fit the new model. Biases of the parameter estimates caused by models specified erroneously are investigated through Monte Carlo simulations. We illustrate the usefulness of the new model by means of two applications to real data. We provide computational codes to fit the new regression model in the R software.  相似文献

Cordeiro and Andrade [Transformed generalized linear models. J Stat Plan Inference. 2009;139:2970–2987] incorporated the idea of transforming the response variable to the generalized autoregressive moving average (GARMA) model, introduced by Benjamin et al. [Generalized autoregressive moving average models. J Am Stat Assoc. 2003;98:214–223], thus developing the transformed generalized autoregressive moving average (TGARMA) model. The goal of this article is to develop the TGARMA model for symmetric continuous conditional distributions with a possible nonlinear structure for the mean that enables the fitting of a wide range of models to several time series data types. We derive an iterative process for estimating the parameters of the new model by maximum likelihood and obtain a simple formula to estimate the parameter that defines the transformation of the response variable. Furthermore, we determine the moments of the original dependent variable which generalize previous published results. We illustrate the theory by means of real data sets and evaluate the results developed through simulation studies.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

For any continuous baseline G distribution, Cordeiro and Castro pioneered the Kumaraswamy-G family of distributions with two extra positive parameters, which generalizes both Lehmann types I and II classes. We study some mathematical properties of the Kumaraswamy-normal (KwN) distribution including ordinary and incomplete moments, mean deviations, quantile and generating functions, probability weighted moments, and two entropy measures. We propose a new linear regression model based on the KwN distribution, which extends the normal linear regression model. We obtain the maximum likelihood estimates of the model parameters and provide some diagnostic measures such as global influence, local influence, and residuals. We illustrate the potentiality of the introduced models by means of two applications to real datasets.  相似文献

We introduce a new class of continuous distributions called the generalized transmuted-G family which extends the transmuted-G class. We provide six special models of the new family. Some of its mathematical properties including explicit expressions for the ordinary and incomplete moments, generating function, Rényi and Shannon entropies, order statistics and probability weighted moments are derived. The estimation of the model parameters is performed by maximum likelihood. The flexibility of the proposed family is illustrated by means of three applications to real data sets.  相似文献

In this paper, we formulate a very flexible family of models which unifies most recent lifetime distributions. The main idea is to obtain a cumulative distribution function to transform the baseline distribution with an activation mechanism characterized by a latent threshold variable. The new family has a strong biological interpretation from the competitive risks point of view and the Box–Cox transformation provides an elegant manner to interpret the effect on the baseline distribution to obtain this alternative model. Several structural properties of the new model are investigated. A Bayesian analysis using Markov Chain Monte Carlo procedure is developed to illustrate with a real data the usefulness of the proposed family.  相似文献

The normal/independent family of distributions is an attractive class of symmetric heavy-tailed density functions. They have a nice hierarchical representation to make inferences easily. We propose the Sinh-normal/independent distribution which extends the Sinh-normal (SN) distribution [23]. We discuss some of its properties and propose the Sinh-normal/independent nonlinear regression model based on a similar setup of Lemonte and Cordeiro [18], who applied the Birnbaum–Saunders distribution. We develop an EM-algorithm for maximum likelihood estimation of the model parameters. In order to examine the robustness of this flexible class against outlying observations, we perform a simulation study and analyze a real data set to illustrate the usefulness of the new model.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The log-logistic distribution is commonly used to model lifetime data. We propose a wider distribution, named the exponentiated log-logistic geometric distribution, based on a double activation approach. We obtain the quantile function, ordinary moments, and generating function. The method of maximum likelihood is used to estimate the model parameters. We propose a new extended regression model based on the logarithm of the exponentiated log-logistic geometric distribution. This regression model can be very useful in the analysis of real data and could provide better fits than other special regression models. The potentiality of the new models is illustrated by means of two applications to real lifetime data sets.  相似文献
