Since the 1990s German speaking countries go through an increasing debate on modernising education systems. Based on an analysis of developments in Austria, but as a hypothesis for other German speaking school systems, the paper aims to identify some cornerstones of this discourse. It argues that a central element is the question how further developments of an education system may be productively steered and that the transformations in the idea of system steering may be conceptualized by an analytic concept of ‘governance’.  相似文献

Females with recent participation in public welfare are a disproportionate and growing share of temporary help services firm employees. Research documenting low earnings, frequent job transitions, and low benefit rates among temporary workers has raised concerns that welfare recipients taking these jobs might have poorer labor market outcomes than those entering permanent positions. My findings show that a majority of welfare recipients working in temporary jobs were satisfied with their pay and working conditions and did not earn much less than those in other jobs. They did report, however, high levels of dissatisfaction with the lack of employment benefits received, and their annual earnings were still very low, reflecting chronic job instability that is endemic to the welfare population.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung ‚Anerkennender Erfahrungsaustausch‘ im Rahmen von Anerkennungsgespr?chen ist als Führungsinstrument auf gesundheitswissenschaftlicher Grundlage konzipiert. Es handelt sich um partizipatives Monitoring der Arbeitsbeziehungen und Arbeitsbedingungen zwischen MitarbeiterInnen und Führungskr?ften. Gleichzeitig stellt diese Gespr?chsstrategie eine situativsoziale Gesundheits-Ressource in Unternehmen dar. Das Konzept wurde im Rahmen eines qualitativen Untersuchungs- und Beratungsprojektes in drei Verkehrsunternehmen von den AutorInnen entwickelt, erprobt und anschlie?end auch zu Workshops für Führungskr?fte ausgebaut. Die Konzeption, die Ergebnisse des Projektes, das Workshop-Konzept und die ersten Erfahrungen mit der Umsetzung des Konzeptes durch operative Führungskr?fte werden beschrieben und diskutiert.
‚Appreciative experience sharing‘ within the scope of appreciation talks is designed as an health-science based instrument for managers. It is a concept for participative monitoring of the social relations at work and the working conditions between employees and managers. At the same time, the appreciation talks show themselves to be a situational-social health resource in enterprises. The exhibited concept was developed and tested, and further developed to a workshop for managers, within the scope of a qualitative study and consulting project in three public urban-transportation companies in Germany. The conception, the results of the project, the workshop concept, and first experiences with ‘appreciative experience sharing’ by managers with direct responsibility for employees are described and discussed.

This paper examines the experience of learning family therapy in a group training model from the trainees perspective. Five significant aspects of this learning experience are discussed. Supervision of family therapy and training within a group setting, multiple supervision, training with a peer co-therapist, using audio-visual feedback in group supervision of family therapy, and the impact on the trainee of doing family therapy for the first time. The trainees found that their learning experience was enhanced by this training approach. ABSTRACT

Research has suggested that men in relationships are more physically active than men who are single. This study provides a weighted analysis of physical activity by coupling status for men of different sexual orientations. Aggregated data from the United States 2013–2014 National Health Interview Survey were used to conduct multivariate logistic regression analyses. Compared to straight men (n = 29,926), gay men (n = 623) were less likely to be in a relationship (AOR 0.32, CI: 0.25–0.41). Coupled gay men did more physical activity than coupled straight men and were 1.62 (CI: 1.05–2.50) times more likely to be active, 1.67 (CI: 1.10–2.51) times more likely to be high active, 1.89 (CI: 1.24–2.89) times more likely to engage in muscle-strengthening activities, and 2.00 (CI: 1.28–3.11) times more likely to meet aerobic and muscle-strengthening recommendations. Coupling facilitates physical activity for men. However, more research is needed to help explore underlying mechanisms for differences by sexuality.  相似文献

We examine the effects of population aging due to declining fertility and rising elderly life expectancy on consumption possibilities in the presence of intergenerational transfers. Our analysis is based on a highly tractable continuous-time overlapping generations model in which the population is divided into three groups (youth dependents, workers, and elderly dependents) and lifecourse transitions take place in a probabilistic fashion. We show that the consumption-maximizing response to greater longevity in highly developed countries is an increase in fertility. However, with larger transfer payments, the actual fertility response will likely be the opposite, leading to further population aging.  相似文献

Multinational enterprises are often accused of having a preference for investing in countries in which the working populations' civil and political rights are largely disregarded. This article presents an empirical investigation of the popular "political repression boosts FDI" hypothesis and arrives at the conclusion that the hypothesis is not supported. On the contrary, multinational enterprises rather appear to be attracted by countries in which civil and political freedom is respected.  相似文献
