In this article, designs are found for which the F-test of analysis of variance is insensitive to violation of normality assumption. Atiqullah (1962) proved that the F-test for treatments adjusting for blocks in the intra-block analysis of a balanced incomplete block design is robust against non-normality in the observations. Here an attempt has been made to identify other designs robust in this sense. In particular, it is observed that for testing relevant hypothesis, a partially balanced incomplete block design in block design setup, under certain conditions, is robust. Robustness of a balanced treatment incomplete block design and a partially balanced treatment incomplete block design (Biswas, 2012), in treatment-control design setup, is also studied. Moreover, a new measure of robustness is introduced for further study. The performance of the F-test in presence of non-normality in the observations for a quadratically balanced design is also examined. 相似文献

In this paper, a novel Bayesian framework is used to derive the posterior density function, predictive density for a single future response, a bivariate future response, and several future responses from the exponentiated Weibull model (EWM). We study three related types of models, the exponentiated exponential, exponentiated Weibull, and beta generalized exponential, which are all utilized to determine the goodness of fit of two real data sets. The statistical analysis indicates that the EWM best fits both data sets. We determine the predictive means, standard deviations, highest predictive density intervals, and the shape characteristics for a single future response. We also consider a new parameterization method to determine the posterior kernel densities for the parameters. AbstractCluster analysis is the distribution of objects into different groups or more precisely the partitioning of a data set into subsets (clusters) so that the data in subsets share some common trait according to some distance measure. Unlike classification, in clustering one has to first decide the optimum number of clusters and then assign the objects into different clusters. Solution of such problems for a large number of high dimensional data points is quite complicated and most of the existing algorithms will not perform properly. In the present work a new clustering technique applicable to large data set has been used to cluster the spectra of 702248 galaxies and quasars having 1,540 points in wavelength range imposed by the instrument. These models usually arise from an unobservable random process added to the independent exponential family models. An unobservable correlated process, however, would cause correlations among the exponential family based data. This paper addressee the extention to the scale parameter case under location-scale probability model. Two methods to compute the critical points of the proposed test have been demonstrated by talking k two parameter exponential distributions. The test procedure also allows us to construct simultaneous one sided confidence intervals (SOCIs) for the ordered pairwise ratios θj/θi, 1≦i<j≦k.
