夏振坤的中国现代化理论研究述评

基于学者的使命感和个人的经历与兴趣,夏振坤教授长期将"一切为了中国的现代化"作为治学目标.他对中国现代化理论研究既具有理论的前瞻性,也为指导中国现代化提供了有益的思想启迪.夏先生对于中国现代化的研究,具有以下四方面突出特点:一是立足于社会主义制度探讨中国的现代化问题;二是着眼于现代化的国际经验比较获取中国现代化的思路;三是服从于"中国特色"探索中国现代化的道路;四是致力于文化现代化寻找中国现代化的精神动力.     

LONG-TERM UNEMPLOYMENT,EMPLOYMENT ATTITUDES AND MENTAL HEALTH

The effect of long-term unemployment and employment attitudes on mental health of 99 unemployed people in New Zealand were investigated in 1989 and again one year later. Each participant was interviewed in-depth on employment attitudes, and the General Health Questionnaire-12 (GHQ), the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale(RSE) together with a demographic questionnaire were administered. The results indicated that the percentage of people who in 1989 wanted employment and of those who were interested in training had decreased within one year, whereas the percentage of people who stated having alternatives to employment increased. The group who felt unable to work stayed the same in size. Good mental health was associated either with re-employment or with those who had alternatives to employment. Poor mental health was evident in those still wanting employment and in those who felt unable to work. The implications of these findings regarding governmental policies are outlined.     

The real foundations of the alleged errors in Allais' Impossibility Theorem: Unceasingly repeated errors or contradictions of mark machina

1.-The Impossibility Theorem rests on five fundamental properties. On each of them Machina has confirmed his agreement over and over again between 1984 and 1986. The proof of the Impossibility Theorem is mathematically and rigorously correct.2.- The alleged Machina's demonstration of the Allais' two errorsis indeed only grounded on a series of errors and it isin total contradiction with the interpretationsexplicitly given by Machina from 1982 to 1986 of his local utility theory in the discrete case, especially in his letters.3.1 In fact one cannot but ask if Machina really understands the meaning and the implications of his formulation of the local utility, and what is really in question.In any case it would he without any doubt eminently desirable that before hastily concluding that the others are making mistakes, Machina should begin by seriously asking himself if he is not himself into error.

Victimization, Care and Justice: Reflections on the Experiences of Victims/Survivors Involved in Large-scale Historical Investigations of Child Sexual Abuse in Residential Institutions

Summary Large-scale investigations into historical child abuse in residentialinstitutions have been undertaken throughout the United Kingdom.This paper reflects on the experiences of those who give evidencein such investigations, drawing on interviews carried out withtwenty-four victims/survivors. Emerging themes include: thefactors which motivate victims/survivors to make disclosures;the impact on individuals of involvement in an investigation;the nature and effectiveness of help and support offered tovictims/survivors; the level of priority given to the needsof victims/survivors; and issues concerned with power and gender.The concluding discussion highlights vital issues for socialworkers and social services departments.

分析电磁散射问题的MGFFT方法

采用多重网格法（ＭＧ）分析电大尺寸物体的电磁散射，这种ＭＧ方法与已有的几种多重矩量法有本质的不同，与其他多层方法相比，它是一种高效率的迭代方法。再利用积分方程的卷积特性引入ＦＦＴ方法快速计算迭代过程中矩阵与矢量的乘积，从而构成ＭＧＦＦＴ新算法，数值结果表明ＭＧＦＦＴ方法具有很高的计算效率，适用于电大尺寸问题的分析。
