The present study was conducted to examine the psychometric properties and gender invariance of the Iranian version of the Dimensions of Identity Development Scale (DIDS). A total of 1453 adolescents (50.8% female; 14–18 years old, mean = 15.48) participated in a cross-sectional study and completed the DIDS and the Youth Self-Report of behavior problems. The Confirmatory Factor Analysis supported the six-factor model of the DIDS, echoing past studies showing the original 5th factor (Exploration in Depth) being divided into Exploration in Depth and Reconsidering the Commitment. The invariance testing showed comparable measurement properties of the DIDS across males and females (strict measurement invariance). Further, behavior problems were associated positively with Ruminative Exploration and negatively with Commitment Making, Identification with Commitments, Exploration in Depth, and Reconsideration of Commitments, whereas the opposite was true for academic performance. A six-factor DIDS was shown to be a valid and reliable measure for the assessment of identity development dimensions among Iranian adolescents. Future studies in the Iranian context evaluating the identity clusters derived from identity dimensions and their gender differences are warranted.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce a flexible extension of the Gumbel distribution called the odd log-logistic exponentiated Gumbel distribution. The new model was implemented in GAMLSS package of R software and a brief tutorial on how to use this package is presented throughout the paper. We provide a comprehensive treatment of its general mathematical properties. Further, we propose a new extended regression model considering four regression structures. We discuss estimation methods based on censored and uncensored data. Two simulation studies are presented and four real data sets are applied to illustrating the usefulness of the new model.  相似文献

In this article, we consider the entropy estimator introduced by Alizadeh Noughabi and Arghami (2010) and derive the nonparametric distribution function corresponding to our estimator as a piece-wise uniform distribution. We use the results to introduce goodness-of-fit tests for the normal and the exponential distributions. The critical values and powers for some alternatives are obtained by simulation. The powers of the proposed tests under various alternatives are compared with the competitors.  相似文献

This article introduces a parsimonious structure for mixture of autoregressive models, where the weighting coefficients are determined through latent random variables, as functions of all past observations. These latent variables follow a Markov model. We propose a dynamic programming algorithm for forecasting, which reduces the volume of calculations. We also derive limiting behavior of unconditional first moment of the process and an appropriate upper bound for the limiting value of the variance. Further more, we show convergence and stability of the second moment. Finally, we illustrate the efficacy of the proposed model by simulation.  相似文献

Abstract

Statistical distributions are very useful in describing and predicting real world phenomena. In many applied areas there is a clear need for the extended forms of the well-known distributions. Generally, the new distributions are more flexible to model real data that present a high degree of skewness and kurtosis. The choice of the best-suited statistical distribution for modeling data is very important.

In this article, we proposed an extended generalized Gompertz (EGGo) family of EGGo. Certain statistical properties of EGGo family including distribution shapes, hazard function, skewness, limit behavior, moments and order statistics are discussed. The flexibility of this family is assessed by its application to real data sets and comparison with other competing distributions. The maximum likelihood equations for estimating the parameters based on real data are given. The performances of the estimators such as maximum likelihood estimators, least squares estimators, weighted least squares estimators, Cramer-von-Mises estimators, Anderson-Darling estimators and right tailed Anderson-Darling estimators are discussed. The likelihood ratio test is derived to illustrate that the EGGo distribution is better than other nested models in fitting data set or not. We use R software for simulation in order to perform applications and test the validity of this model.  相似文献

The logistic distribution has been used to model growth curves in survival analysis and biological studies. In this article, we propose a goodness-of-fit test for the logistic distribution based on the empirical likelihood ratio. The test is constructed based on the methodology introduced by Vexler and Gurevich [17 A. Vexler and G. Gurevich, Empirical likelihood ratios applied to goodness-of-fit tests based on sample entropy, Comput. Stat. Data Anal. 54 (2010), pp. 531545. doi: 10.1016/j.csda.2009.09.025[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]]. In order to compute the test statistic, parameters of the distribution are estimated by the method of maximum likelihood. Cluster analysis is one of the most widely used method in statistical analyses, in which homogeneous subgroups are identified in a heterogeneous population. Due to the existence of the continuous and discrete mixed data in many applications, so far, some ordinary clustering methods such as, hierarchical methods, k-means and model-based methods have been extended for analysis of mixed data. However, in the available model-based clustering methods, by increasing the number of continuous variables, the number of parameters increases and identifying as well as fitting an appropriate model may be difficult. In this paper, to reduce the number of the parameters, for the model-based clustering mixed data of continuous (normal) and nominal data, a set of parsimonious models is introduced. Models in this set are extended, using the general location model approach, for modeling distribution of mixed variables and applying factor analyzer structure for covariance matrices. The ECM algorithm is used for estimating the parameters of these models. In order to show the performance of the proposed models for clustering, results from some simulation studies and analyzing two real data sets are presented.  相似文献

In this article, we introduce a new extension of Burr XII distribution called Topp Leone Generated Burr XII distribution. We derive some of its properties. Useful characterizations are presented. Simulation study is performed to assess the performance of the maximum likelihood estimators. Censored maximum likelihood estimation is presented in the general case of multi-censored data. The new location-scale regression model based on the proposed distribution is introduced. The usefulness of the proposed models is illustrated empirically by means of three real datasets.  相似文献
