Voluntary associations have long been held in distrust in France, but things have changed recently. Associations are now said to develop tolerance, civic and democratic virtues, political sophistication and so on. Nevertheless, few studies focus on the interactions that actually take place in the associational context in order to demonstrate these relations. In this essay we focus on voluntary associations of migrants and we ask whether they are schools of democracy and places of politicization. We then study individual careers in order to identify the consequences of such a context for individuals. We work on three voluntary associations of young people mainly from North Africa, dealing with social action and leisure.  相似文献

The new class of weighted exponential (WE) distributions obtained by Gupta and Kundu (2009) by implementing Azzalini's method to the exponential distribution. In this study, we generalize the WE distribution to a new class of generalized weighted exponential (GWE) distribution. Several statistical and reliability properties of this new class of distribution are obtained. Estimation and inference procedure for distribution parameters are investigated. Finally, we show that the proposed model can provide better fit than the recent class of weighted exponential by using two real data examples.  相似文献

Abstract

In this article we examine the functional central limit theorem for the first passage time of reward processes defined over a finite state space semi-Markov process. In order to apply this process for a wider range of real-world applications, the reward functions, considered in this work, are assumed to have general forms instead of the constant rates reported in the other studies. We benefit from the martingale theory and Poisson equations to prove and establish the convergence of the first passage time of reward processes to a zero mean Brownian motion. Necessary conditions to derive the results presented in this article are the existence of variances for sojourn times in each state and second order integrability of reward functions with respect to the distribution of sojourn times. We finally verify the presented methodology through a numerical illustration.  相似文献

For count responses, there are situations in biomedical and sociological applications in which extra zeroes occur. Modeling correlated (e.g. repeated measures and clustered) zero-inflated count data includes special challenges because the correlation between measurements for a subject or a cluster needs to be taken into account. Moreover, zero-inflated count data are often faced with over/under dispersion problem. In this paper, we propose a random effect model for repeated measurements or clustered data with over/under dispersed response called random effect zero-inflated exponentiated-exponential geometric regression model. The proposed method was illustrated through real examples. The performance of the model and asymptotical properties of the estimations were investigated using simulation studies.KEYWORDS: Count model, under- and over-dispersion, zero-inflation, mixture model, zero-inflated poisson model  相似文献
