Assessing Participation and Effectiveness of the Peer-Led Approach in Youth Sexual Health Education: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis in More Developed Countries

Sexual health education for young people is crucial not only for development of norms but also for protection against vulnerabilities during this stage in life. Although several systematic reviews have examined the effectiveness of peer-led sex education, none have focused on the extent of peer participation. The purpose of this review was to evaluate peer-led sexual health education interventions in more developed countries (MDCs). Electronic and manual searches across five social science, education, and medical databases were conducted. Fifteen articles were selected in total. Most (10 of 15) studies gave low or no responsibility to peers. The majority of articles found improvements in sexual health knowledge (13 of 14) and attitudes (11 of 15) at postintervention stages. Two studies showed improved self-efficacy, and three showed behavioral changes. A preliminary synthesis of effectiveness and level of participation was done. Meta-analysis revealed a large effect on knowledge change (Hedges’ g = 0.84, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.43 to 1.25) and a medium effect on attitude change (Hedges’ g = 0.49, 95% CI: 0.19 to 0.80). Peer-led interventions could be a powerful tool. This review shows that this approach is effective in changing knowledge and attitudes but not behaviors. Further research and action are needed to understand optimal implementation.     

海洋公共管理学:缘起及其框架体系设想

以公共管理和公共事务的变化规律为研究对象的“公共管理学”是一门新兴的学科,其自身的构建面临着深化和发展的问题.在海洋管理的过程中,传统的海洋行政管理形态无论是在理论上还是在实践中都面临着公共性和工艺性严重不足的困境.将公共管理的相关理论成果应用到“海洋公共事务”的管理中去建构起一门“海洋公共管理学”无论在理论上还是实践上都具有必要性和可行性,并且海洋管理理论在自身的演变和传承过程中已经证明“公共性”的成长是一个必然的趋势,与公共管理学有内在的一致性和呼应性.作为公共管理学一脉新的分支学科,海洋公共管理学框架体系的建构及其丰富化尚需要学界共同的努力予以完成.     

Making Space for the Maid

Chinese television dramas over the past decades have seen the rise and decline of various narratives, but no other narratives speak to the emerging urban middle class's fear and anxiety more palpably than the stories of the maid. However, despite the growing popularity of the maid stories among urban viewers, most of these stories do not resonate with domestic workers themselves. How do we make sense of the growing popularity of the maid stories among urban viewers? And how do we account for the differentiated capacity to resonate and identify with the characters among viewers? These are important questions to consider if one is to understand the new cultural politics of power and social formations in post-Mao China. In this paper, I explore some of the crucial ways in which a controlling gaze is facilitated and naturalised by the visualisation of place and space in these dramas. Then, through both critical analyses and engaged ethnography, I demonstrate how two sets of controlling gaze—everyday and televisual—reinforce and justify each other. Finally, I advance the concept of “peripheral vision,” which, I show, denies the modernist “master” narrative of the city and, instead, empowers the subaltern figure with an epistemological position of “eye-witness” and anthropologist of the city.     

审议制在欧盟食品安全监管中的运用

对于国务院的改革，杜钢建教授提出了专家参与的审议制。但是从理论到实践，我们需要考虑的是对于这个由杜钢建教授提出的政府内部专家、专业领域专家和代表民意专家参与的审议制该如何制度化，又该如何在实践中运用。对此，欧盟食品安全监管中的专家参与给我们提供了可资借鉴的经验，尤其是在疯牛病危机中它所经历的教训和由此进行的改革更是值得我们参考。     

老庄艺术技巧论

老庄哲学本意并非论艺术技巧,而是论"道"。"道"是他们为实现现实生活中不能实现的自由而找到的一种实现精神自由的方式。先秦学术文、史、哲不分,老庄的艺术技巧理论就融汇于其道学思想,其本体是其哲学范畴之"道"向艺术层面的演化。老庄没有直接论艺术技巧,但其道学处处展示着如何实现自由的技巧和方法,对文艺创作技巧产生直接影响,甚至相通。"道"之"无"的特性揭示了艺术技巧的本质与表现形态;通过无目的而达到目的技术创造论阐发了艺术创作主体理论,触及了艺术技巧的实质;"道"的社会实践性理论阐发了艺术技巧的社会实践基础,并论述了背道的艺术技巧反面存在。因此老庄的"道"技论也就演变成了艺术技巧论。     

试论在西夏的藏传佛教僧人及其地位、作用

12-13世纪初,藏传佛教噶举派、萨迦派僧人纷纷到西夏传法,使藏传佛教当时流行的主要密法传播到西夏并形成一定规模。西夏政府亦对藏传佛教显示出极高的热情,给予吐蕃僧人以很高的待遇,并在法律上享有诸多特权。藏传佛教僧人在西夏除了传法译经外,还在政府机构中担任职务、在外交活动中充当使臣等,对加强吐蕃民族与西夏境内各民族间的相互了解和联系有着积极的意义。

Optimal Digital Rights Management with Uncertain Piracy

Many firms that sell digital copies of copyrighted materials online face a common dilemma: the use of digital rights management (DRM) to impede pirates can impose restrictions on legitimate use. We introduce a two‐period model in which the use of DRM in the first period affects the probability that a consumer finds a pirated copy in the second period; the threat of legal action reduces consumers’ consumption of pirated copies; and firms choose whether to sell, and at what prices, either strongly or weakly DRM‐protected products, or both. Furthermore, we incorporate the role of uncertainty concerning future levels of piracy. Using a two‐period model with uncertainty, we investigate a firm's optimal DRM strategies and present the optimal pricing strategy as well as product launch strategy under different market conditions. We find that one important characteristic of the optimal strategy is that it is optimal to maintain the same product line configuration strategy for both periods. We also characterize the conditions under which each strategy is optimal.
