Hidden Markov models (HMMs) have been shown to be a flexible tool for modelling complex biological processes. However, choosing the number of hidden states remains an open question and the inclusion of random effects also deserves more research, as it is a recent addition to the fixed-effect HMM in many application fields. We present a Bayesian mixed HMM with an unknown number of hidden states and fixed covariates. The model is fitted using reversible-jump Markov chain Monte Carlo, avoiding the need to select the number of hidden states. We show through simulations that the estimations produced are more precise than those from a fixed-effect HMM and illustrate its practical application to the analysis of DNA copy number data, a field where HMMs are widely used. 相似文献

Robust parameter design, originally proposed by Taguchi [System of Experimental Design, Vols. I and II, UNIPUB, New York, 1987], is an offline production technique for reducing variation and improving a product's quality by using product arrays. However, the use of the product arrays results in an exorbitant number of runs. To overcome this drawback, several scientists proposed the use of combined arrays, where the control and noise factors are combined in a single array. In this paper, we use non-isomorphic orthogonal arrays as combined arrays, in order to identify a model that contains all the main effects (control and noise), their control-by-noise interactions and their control-by-control interactions with high efficiency. We consider a balanced fractional 2m factorial design of resolution 2?+1 which permits estimation of all factorial effects up through ?-factor interactions under the situation in which all (?+1)-factor and higher order interactions are to be negligible for an integer satisfying [m/2]<lE;?m, where [x] denotes the greatest integer not exceeding x. This paper investigates algebraic structure of the information matrix of such a design derived from a simple array through that of an atomic array. We obtain an explicit expression for the irreducible matrix representation based on the above design and its algebraic properties. Split-plot experiments may arise when it is impractical to completely randomize the treatment combinations of a designed experiment. To provide more flexible design choices in the nonregular split-plot setting, we describe an approach for constructing minimum aberration orthogonal two-level split-plot designs having 12, 16, 20 and 24 runs. We consider five design scenarios that may be of importance to practitioners, and then propose an approach for assigning word lengths under these five scenarios. We then use the extended word length patterns to rank both regular and nonregular orthogonal split-plot designs. While most existing papers concerning orthogonal split-plot designs focus on regular orthogonal designs, we find that many minimum aberration split-plot designs are nonregular orthogonal designs. 相似文献
