春秋会盟礼考

会盟是春秋时期的一种重要的礼仪 ,它对于解决诸侯国之间的矛盾和冲突 ,调整各个政治集团之间的关系 ,都起到了重要的作用。频繁发生的会盟 ,也成为春秋时期邦交中特有的现象。文章试图通过对春秋时期邦交领域中会盟礼的由来、会盟的目的和类型 ,以及其发展的趋势 ,做一粗浅的探索 ,以图进一步加深对这一问题的认识     

美国、日本、英国地方高校内部治理及其启示

合理的内部治理结构是学校生存和发展的基础。美国、日本和英国等发达国家地方高校的内部治理成效显著,其主要采取董事会单会治理或双会治理、校内外双边治理或校内单边治理、“校一学院（或学部）”双层级治理以及通过特定人员或管理机构进行治理协调。借鉴国外经验,针对我国新建本科院校内部管理专制集权、决策相对封闭、学术权力弱小、学生利益诉求难以体现等困境,应建立董事会为最高决策机构,设立教授委员会为学术决策机构,保证校长独立行使行政指挥权和院（系）办学自主权,同时鼓励大学生参与学校内部治理。     

非法进行节育手术罪在实践中的几个问题

近年来,一些不具有医生执业资格的人擅自为他人进行节育手术,严重破坏了国家的计划生育政策,也威胁了广大人民群众的身体健康。本文通过对非法进行节育手术罪中犯罪主体的范围、犯罪客观方面的概括和表述、该罪各档次法定刑的适用情节、非法行医过程中进行的破坏节育手术的行为应如何定性等一些问题的具体分析,提出了相应的解决办法,以期对司法实践有所裨益。     

Building Multinational Teams: The Challenge

Using experience from running courses for British and overseas companies at the Centre for International Briefing in the U.K., and his own training consultancy, the author examines the challenge presented to management in building multinational teams in the current climate. Concentrates on need to balance cultural values and practices, maximising cultural synergy. Considers problem areas of perception, team selection, choice of common language, building trust, use of humour, attitude to time, critical success factors in conducting meetings, training and sustaining multi-cultural teams. Offers a checklist of principles to follow. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

Social networks,travel and talk

This paper considers the role that physical, corporeal travel plays in social life. There is a large and increasing scale of such travel. This increase has occurred simultaneously with the proliferation of communication devices that in some ways substitute for physical travel. I hypothesize that the bases of such travel are new ways in which social life is 'networked'. Such increasingly extensive networks, hugely extended through the informational revolution, depend for their functioning upon intermittent occasioned meetings. These moments of physical co-presence and face-to-face conversation, are crucial to patterns of social life that occur 'at-a-distance', whether for business, leisure, family life, politics, pleasure or friendship. So life is networked but it also involves specific co-present encounters within specific times and places. 'Meetingness', and thus different forms and modes of travel, are central to much social life, a life involving strange combinations of increasing distance and intermittent co-presence. The paper seeks to examine the place of travel within the emergent pattern of a 'networked sociality'. It seeks to contribute to the emerging 'mobility turn' within the social sciences.     

文山会海的经济学分析——以外部效应为视角

外部效应（外部性）是指未在价格中得以反映的经济交易成本或收益。存在正外部性的行为往往过少,而存在负外部性的行为往往过多。引入经济学的外部效应理论有助于我们加深对文山会海现象的理解,并启发我们提出相应的解决思路。文山会海现象存在负外部性,并且这种负外部性极其隐蔽,协商谈判和规范约束是矫正其外部性的可行方法。     

Ceremonies of Governance: Perspectives on the Role of the Audit Committee

The widespread establishment of auditcommittees in large UK companies cannot be explainedby evidence of their effectiveness as a mechanism ofcorporate governance, since such evidence is sparse.In this paper, participants' accounts of auditcommittee activity are explored, using conceptsdeveloped in actor-network theory. The paper suggeststhat a possible explanation for the popularity ofaudit committees may be found in their ceremonialfunction, which, through a comforting display ofconcern for corporate governance standards, validatescompany legitimacy and enables access to resources forsurvival and growth.The paper briefly reviews the literature on auditcommittee effectiveness, noting its limitations, anddescribes a qualitative study of audit committeeactivity through the perceptions of participants –audit committee chairs and members, finance directors,internal and external auditors. The actor-networkconcept of `translation' is used to frame theseperceptions, highlighting the ceremonial components ofaudit committee meetings and the performance ofquestioning. It is argued that, aside from anysubstantive audit committee activity, this ceremonialperformance plays an important part in offeringcomfort and reassurance to investors and lenders.
