Comparative Testing of Experts

We show that a simple “reputation‐style” test can always identify which of two experts is informed about the true distribution. The test presumes no prior knowledge of the true distribution, achieves any desired degree of precision in some fixed finite time, and does not use “counterfactual” predictions. Our analysis capitalizes on a result of Fudenberg and Levine (1992) on the rate of convergence of supermartingales. We use our setup to shed some light on the apparent paradox that a strategically motivated expert can ignorantly pass any test. We point out that this paradox arises because in the single‐expert setting, any mixed strategy for Nature over distributions is reducible to a pure strategy. This eliminates any meaningful sense in which Nature can randomize. Comparative testing reverses the impossibility result because the presence of an expert who knows the realized distribution eliminates the reducibility of Nature's compound lotteries.

监督和声誉:对直接融资和间接融资并存的一种解释

在金融市场由于信息不完全而存在道德风险时 ,贷款人和银行只能根据厂商全体的信用和风险决定是否贷款和监督。若厂商在被监督融资时能建立起声誉 ,就能以更优惠的条件融资 ,甚至直接融资。而在这一过程中未能建立起声誉的厂商将不得不进行成本更高的间接融资。而声誉等级过低的厂商将被金融市场所淘汰。     

When tourists are your “friends”: Exploring the brand personality of Mexico and Brazil on Facebook

Adopting Aaker's (1997) framework, this study explored how popular tourist destinations, Mexico and Brazil, communicate their brand personality through Facebook, and which personality traits their Facebook “friends” associate with them. Results of computer-aided content analysis indicated that both countries’ tourism promotion messages emphasize distinct brand personality traits. However, Mexico's public relations efforts were more successful than Brazil's in transferring projected brand personality to its Facebook “friends”.     

“枯槁之士宿名”辩

在《庄子·杂篇·徐无鬼》中有一句很有意思的话,即“枯槁之士宿名”,这句话在初读时很容易被略过,但细细想来,此句之意又颇值得玩味。在历代《庄子》注本中,对这一句话的解释并不很完备,而尤其对“枯槁之士”四字竞无详细注解。而在陈鼓应先生的《庄子今注今译》中却直接解释成了“山林隐士留意声名”…,这样一来,本来作为一对相悖概念的隐士和声名就发生了关系,让人摸不着头脑。在通过对《庄子》书中涉及的“枯槁”“隐士”和“名声”这三个概念进行考察后,发现陈鼓应先生的这一解释并不恰当,并且在文章最后给出了一个旁证,进而确定出“枯槁之士”的真正含义是可与贾谊所言的“烈士徇名”互训的。     

从“温岭幼师虐童事件”看教师职业中的三项管理

职业管理的来源和发展是与现代人力资源管理实践中的需要密不可分的。教师职业管理的内涵既包括学校和国家对教师个体所进行的激励、指导和约束,也包括个体的自我管理。当前思考声誉管理、情绪管理和习惯管理在教师职业管理中的作用和意义,其目的是通过对"温岭幼师虐童事件"的反思来促进教师重视并管理自己的职业声誉、职业情绪和职业行为习惯。     

Crisis communication: The mediating role of cognitive and affective empathy in the relationship between crisis type and crisis response strategy on post-crisis reputation and forgiveness

This study seeks to contribute to the growing body of research in crisis communication by exploring how two types of empathy; cognitive empathy and affective empathy, affect organizational reputation and publics’ forgiveness for an organization that is in a crisis. An online three (crisis type: victim vs. accidental vs. preventable) × two (response strategy: rebuilding vs. denial) between-subjects experiment was conducted with 648 participants (N = 648) recruited through Amazon’s research tool MTurk. The results of the study reveal that crisis type affects both cognitive and affective empathy and people are more likely to feel empathetic toward an organization that uses rebuilding strategies than an organization that denies the existence of a crisis. Theoretical and practical implications of empathy on corporate reputation and forgiveness are discussed.

“新闻暗访”是指记者不公开自己的身份隐蔽搜集信息的采访方式,多用于批评揭露性的报道。用得恰到好处,能达到事半功倍的效果。近年来,因暗访而成为“侵权行为”者的新闻单位和记者接连不断。在我国还没有适用的法律和法规的情况下,新闻媒体和记者既要实施强有力的舆论监督,又要有效地规避新闻官司而进行自我保护,已经成为新闻界不得不面对和研究的一个现实问题。
