苗族村规民约探析

政治的变革、经济的不断进步和文化教育的发展对苗族习惯法提出了各种新的要求,为习惯法向村规民约的演变提供了必要的社会条件。因为习惯法向成文法发展是一种客观的必然趋势,国家制定法调整的范围有限,亟需具备一定效力的村规民约加以弥补,村规民约与当地文化语言相通可解决制定法的语言表达晦涩难懂的问题,国家司法机关能力有限又希望通过村规民约发挥补充作用。村规民约具有规范、补充和自治的特殊功能。     

Community Residents as Lay Health Educators in a Neighborhood Cancer Prevention Program

Abstract

This paper describes a lay health educator model used to provide cancer education in an urban community. Using existing community-university partnerships, the project team identified and trained community residents as health educators. This paper then discusses implications of this model for promoting community-based health prevention and practice.

新疆是多民族聚居区,双语类型也呈现出多元性,其中民-汉、汉-民型双语最具代表性。新疆民-汉、汉-民双语现象有着自身发展的特点,民-汉、汉-民双语现象的形成受到语言本身的性质、民族杂居、文化教育发展、商业贸易往来等因素的影响。新疆民-汉、汉-民双语发展以及双语人才培养对新疆的发展具有重要作用。     

Calendars and keys: The classification of “home” and “work”

This article presents a discussion of the relationship between classification systems and individuals' everyday activities. The concept of “boundary work” is defined as the practices that concretize and give meaning to mental frameworks by placing, maintaining, and challenging cultural categories. “Home” and “work” provide a case study for examining boundary work across a range of realm relationships, from those that are highly “integrating” to those that are highly “segmenting.” Boundary practices involving calendars and keys, clothes and appearances, eating and drinking, money, people and their representations (like photographs and gifts), talk styles and conversations, reading materials and habits, and work breaks (including lunches and vacations) are discussed. Mary Douglas's work on categorical purity helps illustrate the relationship between cognitive order and visible behavior seen in the boundary work of home and work. This article includes material that was published in a larger study,Home and Work: Negotiating Boundaries Through Everyday Life (1996 University of Chicago Press), after it was presented at the 1995 Eastern Sociological Society meetings in Philadelphia.

本文运用法律人类学方法较为全面地论述了西南少数民族习惯法的主要内容,充分肯定了民族习惯法的作用与价值,并指出了其性质与特点.同时,作者结合田野调查的实证材料,实事求是地分析了西南少数民族习惯法的历史局限性.     

民族地区现代化进程中的文化效应

文化效应是影响民族地区现代化进程不可忽视的因素。文化的发展具有历史的继承性、民族性和地域性,经济的发展也有着与之相类似的特征。民族地区在现代化进程中既要尊重传统民族文化,又不能为其所束缚,要充分利用民族文化的多样性,最大限度地为各民族提供充分的发展机会与广阔的发展空间,确保各民族现代化道路选择的真实性,这是加速推进民族地区现代化进程必须加以重视的问题。     

‘Nobody should feel alone.’ Re-introducing socially excluded,cultural and ethnic minority children and young people to educational and vocational opportunity

This article reports on some of the findings from a five-nation study of projects working to re-introduce cultural and ethnic minority children and young people to educational training and work. It focuses upon the work of independent mediators in Anderlecht (Brussels) and Den Helder (Holland) in facilitating communication and collaboration between students, families, welfare and criminal justice agencies, schools and colleges and employers. In particular it considers the mediator's role in bringing together the ‘minimum sufficient network’ of professionals and resources necessary to make an ‘intelligent’ response to a problematic situation and the consequent emergence of new forms of ‘meta-professionalism’.     

浅谈中国少数民族语言与文化及其传承

语言与文化是各个人类群体和族群的重要特征,因此,对中国少数民族语言的研究就成为实现中国民族地区文化、教育发展与建设的需要。本文在对语言和文化的概念界定的基础上,探讨了民族与语言、民族语言与民族文化的关系,强调民族语言与文化对于一个民族的重大意义,最后探讨我国目前对少数民族语言的研究状况,并提出对其保护与传承的有效方式。
