西欧封建社会的多元结构及其开放性

西欧封建社会结构的多元性表现在:政治上,天主教会、封建领主与自治城市的鼎立;经济上,农奴经济、小农经济与商品经济的并存;文化上,天主教神学、日耳曼文化、希腊罗马文化、民族国家文化以及人文精神的共处。这种社会结构中政治、经济与文化各要素内部以及相互间的异质性产生了特殊的开放性,最终促进了西欧资本主义的产生。     

Cultural diversity competencies in child and youth care services in Portugal: Development of two measures and a brief training program

Few researchers have examined the training of child care workers in cultural diversity competencies, despite the growing number of ethnic minority children and youth in residential care. The present paper reports two studies. In study 1, we aimed to adapt and develop two measures of cultural diversity competencies—a self-report questionnaire and an objective measure based on a case vignette (n = 51). In study 2, we proposed a brief training program. A quasi-experimental design (n = 30) was used, with cultural competencies being evaluated before and after the training. Results revealed that (1) child care workers tended to over-estimate their self-perceived competence and that (2) the experimental group was more capable of including cultural elements in their definition of strategies and relational aspects of intervention after a brief training than the group that received no training (control). Implications of this study are discussed for further development of cultural diversity competencies in professionals working in residential child care.

本文在界定鄂南文化的基础上,论述了语言和文化之间的密切联系,并从方言的视角对鄂南文化的特色进行了探讨,指出鄂南文化具有历史的悠久性、浓郁的地域性和明显的多元性。鄂南文化的研究大有可为,值得学界关注。     

Technical rationality and professional artistry in HRD practice

Abstract

This paper outlines the limitations of a technical rationalist approach to HRD practice without seeking to negate it. It then offers a complementary view based on Schon's notion of the reflective practitioner which exhorts HRD practitioners to embrace complexity and reflection. We outline, first, a number of dimensions of diversity which confer complexity upon HRD practice, and, second, a series of suggested questions that may aid the framing of practical problems in a more effective way than might be the case with a purely technical rationalist approach. We urge novice (and expert) HRD practitioners to adopt a mind set that is contemplative of the diversities that they may encounter in practice and which is conjectural with regard to how these diversities may impact upon problems and their solutions.

Bangladeshi families living in hardship: findings from research using a life-history approach

Whilst there are many commonalities in the experience of living in hardship, there are also many ways in which the experience of poverty varies. This paper draws on findings from life-history interviews about parenting and children's well-being which were undertaken with 70 low-income households including nine Bangladeshi families living in London. The paper explores the ways in which the experience of Bangladeshi families was similar to and different from the sample as a whole, discusses the intersection of culture, class, gender and ethnicity in the experience of living in poverty and how this impacted on parents' ability to access support. The findings show the many and complex ways poverty impacts on families' lives and suggest that many of the barriers for Bangladeshi families' to accessing services that have previously been identified still exist. The findings highlight the importance of social workers having the space to reflect on and develop their own practice in order to avoid oversimplistic assumptions about the experiences of Bangladeshi families and the need for home-visiting services so practitioners can develop relationships and build the confidence of the most socially excluded parents.

从跨文化角度探讨日语谚语与汉语谚语的文化共性与文化差异,从而揭示两种文化中的谚语在翻译中的特点。谚语翻译不同于一般语言材料的翻译,它需要译者从谚语的特点出发,把握好句意与结构的关系,形象的对称关系和文化差异的关系等。
