An R2criterion based on optimal predictors

The predictor that minimizes mean-squared prediction error is used to derive a goodness-of-fit measure that offers an asymptotically valid model selection criterion for a wide variety of regression models. In particular, a new goodness-of-fit criterion (cr²) is proposed for censored or otherwise limited dependent variables. The new goodness-of-fit measure is then applied to the analysis of duration.

This paper suggests unbiased estimators (UE's) for the size, mean and total of a domain, with specific features, in a given finite population on the basis of simple random sampling without replacement (SRSWOR) continued till a preassigned number of domain members is observed.

对非法经营同类营业罪的犯罪主体的理解,存在着理论和实践上的分歧。本文认为,非法经营同类营业罪的犯罪主体应该严格限制在刑法所规定的范围之内,不宜作扩张理解,即只能由国有独资公司、企业的董事、经理、副经理构成。     

对目前我国MBO实施存在的几个问题的思考

国有企业改革成败的关键是产权制度改革,MBO为产权制度改革提供了新的思路,是产权制度改革的有效途径,具有现实的意义。但MBO在我国刚刚起步,还处于探索的阶段,MBO的多个环节存在这样那样的问题,需要我们去研究去解决。本文从收购主体、收购定价、资金来源、社会风险、企业后续发展等几个方面分析了目前我国MBO实施存在的问题,并提出了几点建议。

Can Japan Become “A Society Attractive for Immigrants?” Identity,Gender and Nation‐States under Globalization in East Asia

Abstract: In 2003, the total fertility rate in Japan was 1.29. According to many predictions, if the current rate continues, the labor shortage will become critical. The Economic and Fiscal Policy White Paper, edited by the Cabinet Office ( Naikakuhu, 2003a ), stated “If we attempt to fill the lack by accepting immigrants in order to maintain the population of productive workers, we will need to accept 640 000 immigrants every year until 2050. It is necessary to make our country more attractive for foreign workers”. However, it is unlikely that more than 30 million immigrants will choose to live in Japan unless efforts are made to abolish xenophobia and to make qualitative changes that will change Japanese society so that it is more open to co‐existence. Moreover, Japan is not the only country that must worry about future declines in the work force and other countries will most likely start to attract foreign workers earlier than Japan ( Naikakuhu, 2003b ).

The effect of mixing-distribution misspecification in conjugate mixture models

Parametric mixture models are commonly used in the analysis of clustered data. Parametric families are specified for the conditional distribution of the response variable given a cluster-specific effect, and for the marginal distribution of the cluster-specific effects. This latter distribution is referred to as the mixing distribution. If the form of the mixing distribution is misspecified, then Bayesian and maximum-likelihood estimators of parameters associated with either distribution may be inconsistent. The magnitude of the asymptotic bias is investigated, using an approximation based on infinitesimal contamination of the mixing distribution. The approximation is useful when there is a closed-form expression for the marginal distribution of the response under the assumed mixing distribution, but not under the true mixing distribution. Typically this occurs when the assumed mixing distribution is conjugate, meaning that the conditional distribution of the cluster-specific parameter given the response variable belongs to the same parametric family as the mixing distribution.

Families of Hadamard group divisible designs

By a family of designs we mean a set of designs whose parameters can be represented as functions of an auxiliary variable t where the design will exist for infinitely many values of t. The best known family is probably the family of finite projective planes with υ = b = t² + t + 1, r = k = t + 1, and λ = 1. In some instances, notably coding theory, the existence of families is essential to provide the degree of precision required which can well vary from one coding problem to another. A natural vehicle for developing binary codes is the class of Hadamard matrices. Bush (1977) introduced the idea of constructing semi-regular designs using Hadamard matrices whereas the present study is concerned mostly with construction of regular designs using Hadamard matrices. While codes constructed from these designs are not optimal in the usual sense, it is possible that they may still have substantial value since, with different values of λ₁ and λ₂, there are different error correcting capabilities.
