美国多元文化教育观与我国民族教育

多元文化教育观是20世纪五六十年代在美国产生,近年传入我国国内的较为崭新的教育思想.近年来,越来越多的国内学者开始关注多元文化教育,并热衷于多元文化教育观的研究和介绍,因为我国也是一个多民族国家,所以呼吁国内教育界应该提早地关注多元文化教育观的发展趋势.本文认为,美国是一个移民国家,只有几百年的发展历史,因我国民族构成和发展历史不同于美国和西方国家,所以不能完全照搬美国及西方多元文化教育模式.     

高等教育大众化背景下班主任工作面临的挑战及对策

高等教育大众化,给我国高等教育带来了发展契机,同时也给班主任工作带来了新的挑战。本文分析了高等教育大众化背景下,班主任工作面临的新挑战,提出了班主任应该在关心贫困生、提高学生素质、开展就业指导、加强心理训练这四个方面创新工作内容,策划班级活动,培养＂四有＂的身心健康的社会主义建设者和接班人。     

中国特色社会主义探索中的一次曲折——基于社教运动在江苏省的实证分析

上世纪60年代中国共产党在全国城乡开展的社教运动,是探索中国特色社会主义道路上出现的一次严重曲折．社教运动经历了酝酿试点、面上四清和全面四清三个阶段,又称“四清运动”,它为中国特色社会主义建设提供了正反两方面的经验教训：一方面,它有助于改善干群关系、端正干部作风和改善各项经营管理等;另一方面,它破坏了民主与法制秩序,混淆了两类不同性质的矛盾,人为地扩大阶级矛盾,使阶级斗争日益严重化．     

In sickness and in health: A qualitative study of elderly men who care for wives with dementia

It is estimated that approximately 1,000,000 elderly men care for spouses with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of cognitive impairment, yet we have only a limited understanding of their work, and central questions arise. What do men caregivers do, and what meanings do they ascribe to their work? What are their distinctive strengths and vulnerabilities, and what can we learn about men and caregiving from their stories? This qualitative study was based on in-depth, open-ended interviews with 14 elderly men who are primary caregivers to wives with dementia. All interviews were taped, transcribed, and manually coded. The resulting information then underwent analysis from which three major themes emerged: feelings of isolation and invisibility of their care work, a style of caregiving that jointly utilizes management and nurturing, and feelings of commitment, responsibility, and devotion.     

TECHNOLOGY AND THE FUTURE OF THE UNIVERSITY: A SOBER VIEW

Technology has had considerable impact on education and the university, but the Internet - today's newest technology - will not lead to the death of the university. While there is clearly a role for virtual education over the Internet, the conventional university will survive since students are well served by a real, physical, educational experience.     

MAKING THE CASE ONLINE: HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL MULTIMEDIA

New media technologies provide opportunities to expand academic curriculum offerings and enhance student learning. Yet web-based and online learning tools should not be just repurposed text and information, or videotaped faculty lectures. Instead, the web calls for the inclusion of sound, text and visuals for learning tools that provide a media-rich environment. This allows faculty to create multidimensional experiences that cater to different learning styles and provide opportunities for problem solving. Drawing on my production experiences at HBS, as well as my own experience teaching visual anthropology and creating films, videos, photographs and web products, I discuss the teaching opportunities that new technologies and media can provide.

CHINA'S FUTURE WITH DISTANCE EDUCATION: Rhetoric and realities

China has a long history of distance education with one of the largest and longest standing television distance delivery systems in the world. However, with the advent of online learning environments, China must face a brave new world of innovation. This paper examines the political rhethoric surrounding the allocation of funds and energies to online learning and considers critical components of that rhetoric including democracy, market driven education, open access, as well as issues of power, customization, and globalization which affect the ways in which China adopts new online learning technologies.
