神秘文化与精神疗法:评徐小斌小说的救赎意识

在当代女作家徐小斌的小说中,逃离是女主人公在现实社会受挫后最重要的行为方式,而那些蒙着神秘文化面纱的宗教神话世界、未被现代文明污染的"化外之境"和摆脱了历史束缚的自然爱欲世界,则成为对主人公进行精神救赎的皈依之地。从心理学的意义看,这种奇特的逃离方式具有对病态现代人进行精神疗救的形而上色彩。然而,拨去神秘的面纱后我们发现,现代人始终无法抵达真正的灵魂栖息地,获得心的归属与庇护。

Delusional themes of penetration and loss of boundaries and their relation to early sexual trauma in psychotic disorder

This paper explores how the psychotic experience of the penetration of destructive objects and a loss of boundaries appears in the delusions experienced by a woman who reported early sexual trauma. Through a close analysis of these psychotic experiences, this research seeks to illustrate how a psychotic personality organization, coupled with repeated early attacks on the integrity and boundaries of the self, can create a pervasive sense of being relentlessly pursued and penetrated by destructive objects. These delusions may serve multiple functions, as will be discussed. It is suggested that working through these experiences within the therapeutic relationship involves a gradual process of separating the inner from the outer, the destructive from the benevolent, so that a less fragmented, more integrated sense of self can emerge.     

Using attachment theory to understand the treatment of adult depression

John Bowlby developed attachment theory to explain connections between infant and caregiver behavior and how these impacted children’s behavior. Extended and researched heavily in a variety of contexts, attachment theory has advanced clinical thinking over time. Its core ideas regarding infant and caregiver connections are very useful to mental health practitioners today and have particular ramifications for clinical work with adults. This paper discusses the application of Bowlby’s attachment theory to the clinical treatment of adult depression and explores a relevant case example.

在心理咨询与治疗过程中,咨询师的自我表露与来访者的自我表露具有等价的重要性。对于心理咨询师来说,最大的挑战不是咨询师是否进行自我表露,而是能否系统地利用自我表露使之发挥积极的作用。文章结合临床实践经验,从自我表露的定义、咨询师自我表露的功效以及咨询师自我表露的技巧三方面进行阐述。     

Impact Evaluation of a Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy Model in Brazilian Sexually Abused Girls

This study evaluated the impact of a cognitive behavioral group therapy model in Brazilian girls who had experienced sexual abuse. The effect of the waiting period before treatment and the enduring effectiveness of the treatment after six and 12 months were also evaluated. Forty-nine female sexual abuse victims between the ages of 9 and 16 completed instruments measuring depression, anxiety, stress, and post-traumatic stress disorder before, during, and after the group therapy. The group therapy had a positive impact on their psychological functioning, significantly reducing symptoms of anxiety, stress, and post-traumatic stress disorder. The therapeutic effects lasted six to 12 months after the treatment ended. The model proved effective for treating young female victims of sexual abuse.     

Cyber Counseling for Queer Clients and Clinicians

Abstract

As the Internet grows, so does its use by mental health professionals and by clients seeking mental health services. Drawing on his own experience as an example, the author describes how the Internet can enhance clinical practice. Social service professionals can utilize the Internet to provide a supportive forum for patients grappling with issues of self-identity; facilitate communication between therapist and client; provide community education about mental health issues; provide referrals to local social service professionals; market a private psychotherapy practice; and provide patient billing, scheduling, and record keeping.     

The Future of Human Service Information Technology

The immediate future of human services and information technology is examined in terms of their unifying principles and potentials. Effects on human relationships are used as a departure point to forecast changes in professional training and work and changes in the problems people experience. Professional training will incorporate high skill levels in the use and application of information technology. Changes in professional work may include more home based work and more automation of professional tasks. Changes in the problems people experience are addressed in four areas: (1) near consequences of life in an intellect intensive society; (2) human services subject to dramatic improvement; (3) information technology as a "male" technology; and (4) the growth in social support networks. Suggestions are made to explore the conjunction of human service work and information technology.     

An Editorial Planning for Health Services

Abstract

The field of administration and management has undergone a steady evolution since its origin at the turn of the century. A perspective regarding that development is useful to the health service administrator. This paper examines and interprets selected writings in administration and management. The appropriateness of this open-communication model to medical settings is demonstrated and the application of this model to a specific student health service is described and discussed.     

Object relations theory: Cultural and social implications for psychotherapy with individuals who are deaf

The case of Rita highlights the importance of integrating a multicultural perspective with psychodynamic theory for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. Social constructivist theory suggests that the meaning and stigma of deafness influences the parent‐child relationship as well as the numerous socialization experiences that an individual encounters. As this paper shows, the Deaf community, with its unique linguistic, cultural, and social processes, played an integral role in developing whole object relations for Rita. This case exemplifies the importance of integrating psychological, sociocultural, and linguistic components, which are essential to the development of those who are deaf.
